i don't mean to rain on the lets think the dev is going to put out a new faction every year now but do yall really think this is going to happen?????? i think dan made it clear they are about to get hard set on story content

Thats correct and the fact we are getting a shiny new faction which i can say as a LoR beta tester is going to blow your minds in a good way.
Once LoR releases this want for another faction will die down cause trust me LoR is really that good.

I think the next expansion up should be a Cardassian faction combined with opening up the Gamma Quadrant for quest areas/adventure zones, etc.
If Cryptic's smart, they'll do something like that and time it to release when DS9 starts coming out on Blu-Ray. Maybe even put a code in the Blu-Ray sets for some DS9 related uniform or something like they did with the TOS Blu-Rays.
If there is a respective Lockbox, there will be no playable faction. There's a reason why Cryptic never made a Romulan Lockbox. They didn't want players to fly around in ships of a possible future faction. Therefore I think we will never see Cardassians, the Dominion, Breen, Ferengi, Tholians or Mirror Feds/Klingons getting introduced as a new faction.

I wouldn't be so sure about the Cardassians. I heard it mentioned in one interview (either Captain Logan or Stahl, can't remember which) that they regretted the Cardassian Lockbox. Also, if you notice, there is not any Cardassian gear in the Lobi store. No shuttle, costume, etc. There may yet be hope for a Cardassian faction but, it may be two years at minimum away.
I would say a Profession/Career expansion where you can be a trader/merc/pirate. Perhaps they can the ability to unlock and modify various gear with upgrade slots. They will be able to sell it for dilithium or gpl or some type of marks and possibly the various traders can operate a black market for the other factions.
Naturally, Ferenginar will be their main social zone.
TBH i wanted the romulans and there they are. Cardassians would be nice aswell but like other people have said. 3 might be enough. And how many people share the love, or the interest to try out a cardy toon. I know i am one but there are way less then there are people in love with rommies. So yea. What i want alone isnt a good enough reason to ignore the ... problems ... of adding in a 4th faction.

Im just glad ill be able to play them, and nobody says they will stop here. Maybe in time they can fulfill more of the desires of the truely hardcore rommy players. I played Klingon all the way at the start of STO when all they could do was PvP .... Because i rly rly wanted a high lvl Klingon. Im sure that when you start playing you'll be enjoying it to much to waste time pointing out what is missing. Or at least i hope you will. for everybody's sake. *jumps up and down at the thought of finally making his rommie engi*
ive had a char spot open since i first started playing for a rommie engi!!! i have a fed sci, a klingon tac and i always wanted a rommie engi and now i will ... happy (and i started playing when STO came out) Dident do beta though.

oh I agree im a beta testing for it don't read to much in to the story because want to save that for live
