Hi can anyone help, was downloading latest patch but pc crashed, when reboot done tried to load back up but get error 31 a hog returned an error while trying to read, then it restarts but does the same again. Tried another reboot but still occurs.
Jesus cant even send a ticket click on patching category and nowt happens, this is awful. Asks for language despite being picked GRRRRR, shame did enjoy the game now this has p***** me off.
Error that no one seems to know how to fix, a ticket system that doesn't work so have no hope of ever fixing, what a joke

I will try to help you, since you said you had a Hog error. Go where you game is installed at and look for this Addrees. C:\ Where You have Game Installed\Cryptic Studios\Star Trek Online\Live\piggs
My game was not installed in Program Files, so that is why I posted what is in red. You then will need to Delete the Dynamic Hoggs file, once that is done you need to Start your STO Launcher and click on Options. Once in there you need to Check the box next to Force Verify and then put you password in and click submit. What that will do is Write you a new Dynamic Hoggs file that is smaller. Hope this helps.
Thanks for responding, get the same error tho. Disabled on demand patching which works but if take back off even tho now patched it still fails with same error.
Ok, here is something else that might help out. It is some what related to STO, since it is from Cryptic other MMO, Champions Online. Read this forum thread from this Link. Also here is another thread just like yours in STO and they seem to found a fix for it.
Yeah mate tried that too but even tho there were no hogg files (and serched for all relating folders to ensure i got them all) it still gave the error. In the end i have reinstalled the game and re-did the patches which has worked, im away now and didnt get to go on properly due to how late I was up sorting this but at least i know i can play on my return, thanks anyway mate
I should mention I had this error too, but for it it was a permissions problem. It for some reason got set to Read Only, and I did not have write permissions. Thought I'd throw that in the pile of things to check. Good luck!
If you still have the install client of STO you can simply cleanse the STO gamedata and reinstall, than patch. This is mostly relatively fast done, and you might play again. By the way, don't forget to save your saved avatars under c:/"yadayada"/cryptic studios/star trek onine/live/screenshots/
