It's the kind of thing that we don't really care too much about when it's an occasional thing. But when everyone is doing it. Then we need to make a change.

Might I make a suggestion.... make it possible to get to such places like the balcony above the Sick Bay at ESD via a door and walkway, or the balcony at K7 accessible... I understand needing to keep us off things like the vulcan lirpa. but you went out of your way to make hidden accolades for new Romulus with us explorers in mind... so come on... what do you say oh taco of legend.

I tried it, and it didn't work, guess im not doing something right

someone have more detailed instructions? there are several ledges in that area

Go to the far left window outside Club 47, go to the window, jump up to the slightly raised part of the window, face the window standing right up at it, log out, log in again and turn to face Club 47, you should be on the other side of the glass, to get back into the station just jump or walk off the edge into space, you'll reappear in the Transporter room

enough... stop talking about it already. if someone wants to know about these areas, ask in-game. the one person in the zone that knows about it will be glad to show you if you promise to be secretive about it.

i go out there to meditate on the eve of battle, or to feel the true explorers spirit. but if it gets around and everyone starts doing it just to be stupid, they'll probably fix it. just look what that youtube video did to the academy. its a dam shame. if we loose these areas, i'll be very disappointed.

That wasn't even necessary. Originally, you could just jump over the fence.

it's the same problem as they had with the Moon Hideout in CO, because there's a physical barrier around the backdrop (ESD's walls) there's no invisible barrier outside the walls, meaning that the zone extends for as far as people are willing to go.

This causes the instance of ESD to take up more memory as it extends the map indefinitely, which causes problems/

not really, you can only go so far out side ESD, you fall you can move in an area but you go outside the active area you rezone. so really the more memory argument is moot. as those memory allocations are already being used, you just can't normally see them. they are still being rendered by the system... like the old ship yard is still under ESD around where the sick bay is at...

Out of all the pics, I'm surprised no one has done it in an EV suit or Omega/MACO Armour.

Some people from my fleet did. I'll see if I can have them post pics here.

It can also happen if you are standing near windows and enter a mission and return slightly off from where you left.

how old is your video card, because anything made since 2001 has what we call Z-Buffering, its been supported since Radeon 7000, Geforce 3, and Intel GMA 900. So no things you can not see nare not drawn :P

It may be happening serverside, which makes it even more important to fix - I know that in STO's sister game, CO, the UI attempts to allocate space to display every single character name in the zone. If you're going to be participating in any major CO events, it is vitally important to turn off names in your HUD, or your FPS is going to drop into the single digits because the server says you need to keep this memory free...
