Unable to start First Contact Day on Federation characters

I am unable to start the mission on any of my characters. It is not already in my mission log, it simply does not show up from Winters whenever I talk to him. This is the case for every single one of my federation characters, even ones I know have not done the mission (they didn't exist yet).

    Looks like no one figured out what this bug was for us, no reply from support yet even though I opened the ticket last week and the event ends today. From discussing with other people in my fleet I wasn't the only one that had this issue.

    i had the same problem on one of my captains but not the other weird

    Did you by chance do the First Contact day mission last year on that character? That's probably why.

    No, the two characters I was doing it as didn't even exist last year.

    I did finally get a response from support. They just said the event is over, thank you for playing.

    Nevermind the fact I opened the ticket while the event was live...
