Greetings all,

Today is First Contact day, and while I haven't checked out the KDF event, they have a few updates to the Fed side.

Near the Sol System, you can even see the Federation Flagship! Looking at the hull, she is NCC 1701-F, but the ship name is the USS Odyssey!

I am sure that Shron will be surprised. : )

Chris

PS:> Hopefully they can make a fix without taking down the servers!

one was dead for a minute or two before being brought back. they were already starting the cloning process when command found out he was alive. so they stuck him on the same ship as his clone. one is a backup.

Recycling the hull number was one of the biggest boneheaded mistakes made in the history of the franchise. Ship names get recycled. Hull numbers do not.

I wish you all would get this TNG out of your heads as the Enterprise is not a Flag Ship as Picard though.Kirks was never a flag ship and he never even said that even when an Admiral was on board.

You ppl need to watch more TOS as it has gotten Star Trek right not TNG.

Well, according to Star Trek Online canon it is the Flagship.

The USS Enterprise, NCC-1701-F, is the current flagship of the Federation, and it's exploratory and military arm, Starfleet.

flagship in star trek is what ever ship the federation feels like calling the flagship. it is not like our real world Navy where a flagship is any ship with a flag officer on board

both the D and E where the flagships of the federation who cares what TOS did

Yes and we all know how accurate STO lore is.I'm sure the billions of klingons and borg the feds have wholesale slaughtered since the launch of STO will be included in official canon...

You forgot didn't you? It's okay, everyone does it from time to time, so let me refresh your memory. Star Trek online is a product licensed by CBS/Paramount. CBS own the rights to the Star Trek IP and if they say no to something then it doesn't happen.

Therefore the fact that Cryptic class the Enterprise NCC 1701-F as the Flagship of the Federation means it must be so. If this wasn't the case, it wouldn't exist. Whether you like it or not, STO is Star Trek.

ST:TNG episodes were written by hacks who wanted to write for General Hospital but lacked anything resembling talent. They most certainly knew absolutely nothing about anything related to any fleet structure. You can't have a flagship without a flag officer in command. If they wrote an episode where they called a bag of Doritos the Federation flagship you would probably buy into that too.

Last year it said Enterprise, I swear... but last year first contact day was before the odyssey bundle was out. They must have messed something up.

doesn't matter if they where written buy the bum who lives in the starbucks down the street. the Enterprise-D is the flagship as from what was shown on screen and approved by Gene Roddenberry. following the D the E was then made the flagship as approved by CBS and what was shown on screen, now the F is as was approved by CBS

Star trek is not the US navy they can do what they want. you don;t like it write a letter to CBS and maube an intern will glance at it before throwing it out

After completing the First Contact Day mission I noticed the Enterprise-F keeping station by herself in space, so I decided to pull my ship up alongside her for a photo-op. But imagine my surprise when I zoomed in on the Enterprise and discovered that she wasn't really, well, the Enterprise...

This also happens in "Boldly They Rode". She's only labeled Enterprise in the Tau Dewa patrols.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

You realize that Picard's enterprise could be the flagship of the federation even though Kirk's Enterprise wasn't, right? Hell, Picard's enterprise could be the flagship of the federation even though PICARDS ENTERPRISE didn't used to be, or won't be at some later time.

Yes this happens way too often, sometimes he just sits there saying it over and over.
As for the Oddyprise it wasn't like this last year.
