So two more months until LoR is released, I know that despite some of the problems I have with the direction Cryptic has taken the Romulans I am still excited with finally being able to play as one and fly my Warbird.
I plan on spending the next two months saving up my EC and grinding away for my dilithium. I have also been using other games to get out my Romulan craving, including making a massive joint Fed/Kdf fleet in Legacy with the UU mod and decimating them with a massive Romulan fleet. I plan on doing the same with the Armada series and any other games I can dig out of my closet.
So how do you plan on holding out on the wait for two months.
Note: This is NOT a thread on your opinions on the new Romulan faction, take it to one of the numerous threads on those topics. Lets just discuss how we will spend the wait here alright guys and gals.
i don't really want the expansion to come to be honest.
That is how I feel now but there is many things cryptic hasn't told us yet. So I am waiting.
But i have played this game every day since beta and have only played KDF. If they don't make the kdf more desirable when the new expansion comes their will be no more kdf, and therefore deserve less attention. Then, i will go.
I probably have been playing this game too long anyways.
I'm going to keep doing what I've been doing for months now: Playing other games 'til something I deem actually interesting comes out in STO. Got the lifetime sub back when it all started, but I grew tired of the current batch of 'content' long ago. Keep poking my head back in when new things are announced, hoping they'll be interesting/fun. I'll come see in May.
the walking dead finished but Doctor who is back:D, I've been playing some really old trek games , oh and working and having a job and a life that pretty much makes the time pass by fast.
I'm currently leveling a new character in an NX Light Escort, all the way from Ensign to VA. That'll probably keep me busy until May.
I'm also working on Frontier Fleets' fan series, Infinite Horizons. It follows the STO storyline, and expands on it with its own unique characters and stories.
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone

I am enjoying what's left of the Klingon faction ... before it completely dies when everyone rolls a Romulan and allies with Feds. LoR == Death of the Empire == Goodbye STO ... you brought me some fond memories.

Heh, that reminds me of Cartmand and the Nintendo Weeeeeeeeeee!
Thanks for the reminding us that was a hilarious episode. It helps to laugh in between all the tears.

Work on current characters, try to get a good chunk of them to t5 omega/rom, also save up dilitheum for my romulan, so when he gets to certain levels I can obtain great gear for him. And just same old same old stuff that goes in sto, stfs ect. Having fun. Trying not to think about LoR as much as I can :P
I was maxing out my Dilithium every day up in preperation when we had the countdown timer on the belief that we would be getting a Romulan Faction. I ended up converting that to Zen and buying a Armitage Carrier and buying a Elite Scorpion fighter and some Romulan DHC/Turrets to go with it instead-it seems about the same thing as the Romulan faction anyways at the moment. *shrug* I don't really have anything I'm specifically interested in saving up my dilithium/zen for, since the Romulan Republic has taken the wind out from under my wings, and my dilithium refining has been cut in more than half as a result. perhaps I will see about fine-tuning my Bridge Officers on my Alts, and working on getting to tier 4 marauding on my KDF, I'm not sure at the moment.
The wait has certainly changed my STO experience, lol.
Outside of STO? Since I have not been playing as much post LOR reveal, I imagine I will have mroe free time for reading and painting.
Keep at doing the same thing I do every update, try to take over...*cough* Sorry, wrong IP. Nah, just keep grinding away for Dilithium. As I will never play a Romulan... "subject" of an enemy faction.

^yup, totally agree. Tho for the moment I have even stopped grinding Dil, going to the gym sounds better atm.
Aside from engaging in the occasional good-natured trolling of people who think that the website announcement means that the content is already in game? (Seriously though, people need to read things.)
Aside from the network revamp and server migration at work?
Guess I'll continue stockpiling energy credits for future use and dealing with the 5500 Omega Marks I have to grind. Hopefully I'll be able to say "I'm occupying myself with Neverwinter Beta," but with no announcement when the next beta time will be I can't say that yet.
The opinions expressed in my posts are not necessarily those of my employer or Subspace Radio.

I do what I always do: Play a little STO, play a little SWTOR, play a little LotRO, play a little GW2, play a little CO, etc. Before you know it 2 months have gone by.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Meanwhile on STO i'm just grinding dilithium, because i'm feeling i'm going to need it later

Not your sweet, delicious chalupa!
And, finishing off the Omega/NR rep gear getting on my alts, I guess, for me.
Already have an alts bank full of stuff I'm going to give to my Romulan.
