The juicy Fed snoozer, flying around, Shatner singing, "I am iron man," blasting through the speakers.
The KDF BoP decloaks and begins the attack...
...never to finish it, as it explodes.
The guy flying the Rom BoP says, "That's a pretty cool song," and blows the Fed up as well.
Thing is I don't do the decloaking part and just stay invisible the whole time now so how is the Romulan going to do that when one of his fellow Romulans is being so kind to aid me on my ship and make it never reveal while firing.

It's something I've been wondering about with the Advanced Romulan Deflector. They can get the +2% Stealth Detection of the Jem Deflector - while also getting that +15 Stealth Value. So they could boost their Stealth Detection while boosting their own Stealth somewhat.
With that not being a "STF" level of gear - it's left me to wonder what the Romulan MACO/KHG equivalent would be then and if it would be something along those lines.
Would be looking at a Perception of 5226.75 to 5316.75 without Sensor Scan or EPtA.
The nonSciVessel Cloaker would never see the first guy.
The SciVessel Cloaker (doubtful, think they'd do a Rom cloaking Sci Vessel?) could see the first guy at 0.845 km. Odds are against ever seeing the guy.
Course, if one of the Roms were to drop cloak at the time of the explosions on that juicy Fed target to Sensor Scan and EPtA1, they'd take their Perception somewhere between 5726.75 to 5776.75.
The nonSciVessel Cloaker could see the guy at 9 km.
The SciVessel Cloaker (would be kind of Evil, eh?) at 10km.
Perform Sci shenanigans to decloak the target and let the festivities begin.
Given that Nebulas are rare - few folks run Sensor Probes - etc, etc, etc - the odds are against the first guy actually having that high of a Stealth Value to begin with... so depending on what they do with Roms (if there is a cloaking Sci Vessel) - packs of Roms could do a pretty decent job of hunting down cloaked KDF.
Bah, forgot the Astrophysicist trait - course, that would only add 15 SDR or 7.5 Perception or 0.15 km detection range.
Given the standard unskilled/ungeared @ 50 Aux Stealth Value of 4975...my Fed Sci could detect them at:
15.66 km for 5s
14.66 km for 20s
6.44 km at any time
For the Stealther I listed earlier (5274.5)...he can detect them at:
9.67 km for 5s
8.67 km for 20s
0.45 km at any time (meh)
And that's not in a Nebula with either console.
My KDF Sci is not built for detecting cloakers. Still, one of the first things he does on decloaking to attack is Scan. 5263
He could see the 4975 guy at 5.76km for 20s.
He would never see the 5274.5 guy.
Course, all of that's without using QSM (all examples).
I've glitched Fed to hunt KDF hunting Feds in Ker'rat to complete the Kill10KDF since KvK pops are so rare. Yep, I've been slaughtered by a B'rel I've never seen. But it's rare. I can only think of two folks that I've come across doing that. Most B'rel folks tend to flicker. There also tend to be more folks flying a Hegh'ta, Fleet Norgh, or even the Fleet Hoh'Sus than a B'rel that I've come across. Or they're in a Peghqu', Tor'Kaht, even a Krenn, etc, etc, etc.
It will be interesting to see what they do with the Roms. Depending on what they do, I could definitely see building a stealth Sci to hunt cloaked ships.

My tac isn't in a brel right now so cant check, but i remember my stealth is still somewhere over 5k, maybe 5.2kish? running only 50 power to aux with 3 ranks in stealth and a romulan rare male sci boff, and goes up by around 100 more when shifting all power to aux I think. Seems like I almost never get decloaked except by CPB or GW.
Might have been me doing that and you would never see me lol. I usually use lots of transphasics torps, mines, and cluster, sometimes a romulan torp too for fun.
If there is one constant in this game its that if feds QQ enough they will get what they want.
Also the thing I wonder about with this new faction... It sounds like its based on romulan under D'tans leadership and the way he talks in the story he wouldn't have a single romulan risk their life and just have the federation and the kdf take all the losses and then hand them over to him. So I do not see how they will fit in them getting borg tech unless its just available without any grinding for little handfuls of EC.

There were "two-ish" Romulan factions in the game before the LoR announcement.
Romulan Star Empire - which had been led by Sela until her disappearance.
New Romulan Empire - led by D'Tan and Obisek.
Well, there are also the various Tal Shiar factions.
Those that might still be loyal to Taris even while locked up.
Those that might still be loyal to Hakeev even while dead.
Those that might still be loyal to Ruul even while locked up/dead.
Those that might still be loyal to Sera even while missing.
Those that might be following Khiana after what happened to Ruul.
Er, yeah - typical intelligence agency shenanigans, eh?
But players will be playing as part of the Romulan Republic. Their story sounds like it takes place during the events of 2409 during Sela's rule of the RSE and dealing with the Tal Shiar up through her disappearance and eventual return (did somebody help her escape or did she return at the Iconians' leisure?).
As such, the R3's (get it? Romulan Republic Romulans?) would have access to Omega gear, some form of Romulan MACO/KHG gear, adapted versions of that MACO/KHG gear, they'd have access to the Rom Rep gear, whatever comes with the Tholian Rep, etc, etc, etc.
Speaking of which, there will also be the crossfaction console goodies, eh?
That leaves me wondering if Gas Sensors can be used with an EBC... cause Gas Sensors are likely coming in the next box...hrmmm?
Another one of cryptics complete failiures, perma cloaked ships. Even the people who started to make sto figured out that was a bad idea, thats why the mes was nerfed in beta to begin with.
Well thanks to Romulans allying with Feds we now have FvK or FvF where EVERYONE IS CLOAKED.
im hella better than anyone at detection/**** with cpb and psw in this game too
HARK! HERALD THE NEW AGE OF SKILL PLAY!!!!!!
i for 1 will be rdy.
q for fvk now or go the route of dob and s31 and so many other obsolte fleets that just simply couldnt be asked to do anything but their favorite flavor of fail fed noobery
damn, cant even joke troll a friend without getting the wrath...
okay mini.
im in rage mode hard lately, no offense.
but yeah, do the dew bro, i even put mean deeps with my TRIBBLE fed ill equipped in defiant retro.
forget everything u thought u knew
u dont need emergency power to shields
but you do need 2 copies of beam overload 2 copies of hyt marion frances dulmur dem and a quick release.
there are dozens of imitators, if anything realtes the efficacy of my latest discovery, its the fact that the price of this key doff ingredient has 10xed since i started pwning people with it.
they say "minimax! how do u do 2 beam overloads at once with no delay and so much damage!?
ive elucidated so many noobs and vets alike about this skillplay i should be honorary bootcamp coach
Very nice... there is a lot of good changes here. Some stuff I didn't think we would be able to see for. Glad to see I was wrong. Thanks as always.
The dot and over time dmg crit change... should be interesting. I think it will infact make tactical builds with multiple dot dmg the new OP... we'll see once it goes live I imagine.
Nice work.
PS... To bad this is in though...
"Romulan Space NPCs should no longer shoot themselves in the face with Plasma Torpedoes."
I love the well written patch note... still it was one of those unintentional funny moments I'm going to miss.
aww, no more EWP3 chain criting over 2k DOT for me
My fear is this fix is in fact going to bump up by a good factor every tacs dot build.
Think of it this way... (and I'm not saying this fix isn't a good thing lol)
Right now if you say run a couple plasma torps... and a EWP. You can rack up 4-5 torp dots... and 1-2 stronger ones from Spreads... and the EWP dot... fairly easily. (in between hazards anyway)
Right now that is a total of 8 dots... all with 1 roll each all ticking for lets say an average of 10 ticks each.
So thats 80 hits but only 8 crit rolls... which gives the average tac around an 80% chance to get one of those dots to crit, the chances of having 2 crit together is around 40% give or so.
Still most likely you land 70 non crit and 10 crit.
Now we will have the same build have 80 Crit rolls... I somehow think you are going to land one heck of a lot more then 10 crits in that 10s of dot burn.
This is a massive bump for Tac Dot builds I'm thinking. (well all dot builds... but tacs with 15-20% crit rates are going to benefit the most)

that is broken.

Where it's basically a MEF field and you don't know there's something coming your way or sitting there until the explosions...meh.

Somebody with:
9 Stealth (49.5 Stealth)
3x Stealth Consoles (45 Stealth)
Rom BOFF (100 Stealth)
125 Aux (75 Stealth)
Advanced Reman Deflector (30 Stealth)
On top of the base 4975 (unskilled/ungeared @ 50 Aux)...
...takes them to 5274.5 Stealth Value.
Now the person looking for them:
9 Sensors (148.5 SDR)
3x Sensor Probes (135 SDR)
125 Aux - SciVessel Cloaker (150 SDR)
125 Aux - nonSciVessel Cloaker (50 SDR)
Advanced Romulan Deflector (200 SDR)
