Did youi ever hear the saying "great things happen to those who wait" Patient might be a virtue on our generation but some would rather have DEVs do it right than launching something half-a##ed. Even there, I'm sure there will be more bugs to deal with

I have a feeling they have been working secretly on the Romulan faction for years. We saw snippets of warbird concept art some time ago. And they made Romulan character assets when they did the Romulan featured episodes. Alot of the work is probably done already. Hopefully they release it on tribble, let us test it before it goes live.

So come May, if all was successful, there will be an influx of new players alongside everyone else rolling new Romulan toons. My main concern right now is how the servers will bare the brunt of this activity when it all goes live. They melted during the anniversary and that event didn't have the fanfare this expansion is getting.
Umm, the 3rd year Anniversary Event got quite a lot of fanfare (about a month's worth) leading up to it - and the Devs even said when it went Live that they got a WAY larger response (in terms of players logging in to experience it) then they expected. Still this is an expansion with a new faction many have been waiting for; and an indication that the KDF faction will also/finally become a 'full' faction <--- This of course is one of the BIG questions regarding the new Expansion -- but yeah, I think we can expect a bigger turnout, and a lot of actual new accounts being made come May 21, 2013.
It'll probably go as smooth as most other MMO launches (IE maybe by the 3rd day, all the really major issues will be either identified, triaged or fixed - and they'll have a handle on any server load issues.) If it goes better than that, great, but I'm expecting what I've experienced on evry other MMO I'v e played on the day of a large expansion launch.:D

Speaking of which, I really wish they would stop with the TV lingo. The word "season' just never worked well with me. They should use something more Trek(ish) or scientific sounding. Eg; 'environmental enhancement update', 'content augmentation pack', 'player enrichment release', 'interactive experience improvement' -etc...
It is a tiny point which is not very big or sharp but a point nonetheless.
Calling it an update, which is what it is, would work fine. But they think 'season' is cutesy, I guess. Just like some roleplayers think 'season' is somehow more immersive when discussing levels.

Who said you had to wait until May? Play it on the test server in a couple weeks when they put it up there. Experience the bugs BEFORE they go live!

Well normally that phrase would apply..however, we are talking about Cryptic..when is the last time they released something that was not broke or bugged out and never got fixed?
I do not think a longer wait is going to change that statistic with this update.

they Renamed Season 8 into Legacy of Romulus when it became more of an Expansion than a Season update. the next seaspn out will become Season 8.
