I bought some Fleet Support Duty officers and sold them on the exchange. What I didn't know what that due to a billing problem I was capped at 10mil. When I was missing 30mil I started checking for problems and found the problem. I corrected the billing and re-activated my sub but the EC is still missing. Where did it go, how do I get it into my account?

Without a subscription, your account reverts to 'Silver' account properties, which includes the 10 Million Bank EC cap. Any ECs received that would take you over the 10 Million hard cap is gone forever...
If you have a bucket that can hold 10 liters of water, and you pour 40 liters into the top of it, you'll lose 30. Fetching a bigger bucket AFTER pouring the water won't get the "lost" 30 back.

This concludes temporal mechanics, lesson #1.

most other free MMOs have a overflow account, it is strange that sto has no such thing...
Most? The only one I know of that has one is DCUO. WoW, Tera, Aion, PSO, RH,CO, DDO, and LOTRO don't, as far as I know (those are all the ones I'm playing, so I don't know about others). So I think an overflow is pretty uncommon.
I just had the same issue. I pre-ordered the retail version ($60 collectors edition) and subscribed for a few months after launch. I know a while ago they said that if you were gold at one point, you would retain your gold status, and I did. I have had up to 25+ million EC in my account previously, typically after selling keys or some big ticket items.
Just the other day I sold more keys and got capped at 10 million EC and lost the additional 7 million EC profit I would have made.

A few of those games use a different mechanic than STO. In a lot of other MMOs, the system prevents you from recieving currency once you hit the cap. Money will stay in the mail and can be picked up later, people can only trade you the amount of credits needed to rech the cap etc...
In STO, the game just keeps pouring...
/edit: just wanted to note agin, how pathetic it is that the forums filter out a few select names of other mmos...
It's called closing the barn door after the horse got out, it's the darker side of the incentive to subscribe or buy the cap increase, spend 500 zen to increase you cap from 10million to 10 billion and consider it a lesson learned. Sorry for your loss but I doubt you will get the ec back from account support and there certainly is nothing that anyone here can do.
If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.
He did not buy a cap increase. He was a Silver subscriber and they had a billing problem they didn't notify him of when his sub was supposed to renew. He bought Fleet Support reward packs via the Z Store and sold them on the exchange not knowing he was bumped down to f2p. So more like $100 lost.

He spend $100 to gain 20 mil EC, when he could have just earned it by playing in just a couple of weeks?
He probably could have purchased 20 million EC from one of the gaming sites for like $10.00.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

on the otherhand you can get the EC cap increase for just a few 100 zen, and it is accountwide.
The point of a F2P game in PWE's world is to have as many people coming in the door as possible. What do they do afterwards is irrelevant.

I put in a support ticket.
LOL... 20 mil not exactly a fortune... You can easily make that kind of EC within a few days.
Takes a few hours in Kerrat.
Yea, but I meant "easily"...
Sure Ker'rat is easy, but you have to deal with other players. In a few days of casual play, 20 mil is easily earned.

Please note a fee will also be added, as well as a tax
have a nice day.
everyday one or two minefield and sb24 (less than an hour), and if you are lucky, you get more than 20 mil in a week

Thats one way to do it yes...
So I seriously doubt anyone would go nuts enough over 20 - 30 mil to leave the game. That would just be silly.

Also, using a laywer for 500zen (5$) is beyond stupid.
