Fix Tau Dewa Red Alert!

OK I don't see any threads about this, but I hope Cryptic is aware of the Tau Dewa problem. The majority (90%+) of the Tau Dewa Red Alerts that pop in sector are bogus. I and others have joined countless times, jumping in the instant the Red Alert notice appears, and almost every time we are welcomed by Exit to Sector when there is no possible way anyone completed the mission. This happens time and again. It has become a running joke in the REDALERT channel.

I have managed to get into a legitimate mission only 2 or 3 times across 2 characters, out of dozens of attempts.

I can't believe this has gone three months without a fix.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

I implore you devs, please please please please fix the Tholian Red Alert.

What happens is, and I'm sure others can expound in more detail, when you enter one it's already finished, and it just warps you out. I've been trying to do one for ages, and have never actually gotten into one that works. I have tried changing instances, tried several different alerts at different times, instances, and so forth. Every time I go into one when the Red Alert pops up it's already finished, and warps you straight out.

    Please, fix this :)

    I fixed that for you.

But seriously, I've literally never got in on a working instance of this.

i too would like this to fixed ASAP. but i think they are no capable of fixing this maybe some work around can be done to hold us over for a year or so when its fixed.

hell just make it an event and do anyway with the alert, at least that way people would be able to this DAILY

    Cryptic: *Jedi mind trick gesture.*
    - "There is nothing wrong with the Tau Dewa Red Alerts, move along."

I thought that one patch note said it was known and fixed a months or so back?
But it's still very much there, I have atlest managed to get into a few of them now.

@Cryptic, please guys you need to have a meeting to adress your handling of communication to us, the players and perhaps be more open to transparency as to what is going on. Also I'd appreciate if someone over there could take 30 seconds to read the threads linked in my signature. Thanks.

The latest tactic is to claim that a bug only affects a "very small number of the overall player-base therefore it's not worth investing manpower or resources to track down."

Direct from The Devs to you. :D

Fully suspect I'll get my THIRD warning for trolling BUT it has to be said:

It's not just QA/QC that's a joke here but the complete and utter lack of "care" by management.

Those RED ALERT missions were a hoot to play when they first came out -- during that small window of time when they worked. They've been broken practically since they launched. Tholian Red Alerts have been broken since day one. I have yet to actually see one work.

I hear they are fun to play -- by the small number of folks who have gotten into one... sadly I'll never know as I can't find one that works.

Cryptic: Step up and fix this. We the players are asking for this. I know it's not a lockbox profit-center but for the love of the game! FIX some of the other non-lockbox bugs!

I tweeted Brandon this thread and got an answer. Per policy I won't post it but basically the "Devs are aware of the situation." Also: "the problem is far more complex" than it appears at first glance.

So. I'll put that on file and check back in a month or so!

Good, thanks. That was my goal for this thread.

I was on hiatus from about June of 2012 to the 3rd Anniversary event, so I don't know when this came out or how long it's been broke. I just wanted to make sure it was a known issue.

Cryptic, we need a "season" of fixes! Until then please take the Tau Dewa Red Alert out!

This really looks bad on Cryptic for leaving this broken thing in for so long...
