What happens if you used the Nadeon Detonator on a Temporal Disruption Device?

I have no idea where to post this thread, but I'm really curious about the SCIENCE this would do.

Does it act like a tricobalt shockwave torp, or a chroniton shockwave torp? What damage have you seen it deal?

And while we're at it, does the Nadeon Detonator work on the Harpeng?

Do they all divide by zero?

I can't answer the rest, but I can answer the Hargh'peng question.

No, it doesn't work with Hargh'pengs. I have a torp B'rel, and Nadeon has no effect on it.

    Btw...Lol. You know why. :P

@Mimey: Welp that's consistent with the bahavior of the torp. Thanks!

    @fullleatherjacket:

All fine and well, I only have a Nadeon Detonator and no Temporal Disruption Device. It's so hard to acquire one for SCIENCE these days. D:

I mean, which self-respecting researcher wouldn't want to see what a universe draining into subspace looks like? :D

I was hoping someone else with better funding had conducted this experiment before...

...and I suddenly have a brainwave.

*goes to test the Detonator on romulan and omega torps*

Well, experiment hit a snag. No one to shoot it at. Maybe if I could find a tribble or a Tasha Yar... :P

Nadeon Detonator just gives the torps it can modify the properties of a tricobalt device(including the useful interrupt/disable - I still need to test it on Donatra while she's firing her main weapon sometime..). Amusingly, it can also create Shockwave Tricobalt Torpedos that have a 5-6k blast range.

In other news: this thread is silly. Silly hats must be worn at all times!

    That's why I was asking:

Is the result a Shockwave Tricobalt Torpedo, a Shockwave Chroniton Torpedo, or a universe-ending Shockwave Temporal Disruption Torpedo with so many anomalies spawned at once?

    Check.

I too am now quite curious to see the effect of the nadion detonator on all sorts of different torpedoes, plasma in particular.

And if THE WORST should happen, well, I've always wanted to be remembered as That Guy Who Destroyed the Universe.

not sure if thread is serious, but . . .

Nadeon Detonator only works with photon torps.

The one that comes out of the lockbox works on a few different torpedoes. I've used it on Qunatums.

    - "Console - Universal - Nadeon Detonator" will now enhance any standard torpedo, instead of only functioning with Photon Torpedoes.

According to this it doesn't work with temporal disruption device, bio-neural warhead, or special Omega and Romulan Plasma torps. It does however work with any standard chroniton, plasma, quantum or tric.

Oh, it definitely works with the Borg/Omega Torp - haven't tested with the rommie one yet.

Not only does it put a plasma fire dot on everything in its shockwave, it's an entirely different stack('Shockwave Plasma Fire' or something similiar). Just finished testing it on my still quantum-specced torp boat and the results were just disgusting. When you combine it with a followup spread or high yield, you can just melt swarms of enemies(ideally with a gravity well).

I'm slightly terrified to see what will happen when I put actual plasma consoles, the borg and romulan sets on the ship.. My torpedo specialist is already so far ahead of my other characters it's not funny.

I am curious, but doubtful, if it will work on the BNW or Ferengi missiles though. I could see it maybe working on the Tholian torps.

    Ah I see!

It might be a coding mismatch though, as both rom and omega torps appear as 'plasma torpedo', which is a 'standard' torpedo and possibly hence why it worked.

Gotta go test it on the Rom one, but too bad the toon with the max rep isn't the one with the nadeon detonator (never bought the c-store ship). It'll be a while before I can give the thread an update.

    The thread was half-serious, but with the TCD nerfs I think its worth another look. ^^;

So...an anomaly that compresses all matter in the universe, and then sends it exploding out into subspace.

OP, your answer is that you'll create a new Big Bang.

On a more serious note, why does activating this console put my Plasma Hyperflux on a 45 second cooldown?

    Thats just stupid.

it does nothing. nadeon has no effect on the ferengi rapid fire missiles and temporal device. they fire as normal.

this is atleast at my end testing with them. also no idea if it works with the special tholian torps, as i dont own one.

Oddly, it does not work with the Rapid Fire Transphasic torpedo, even tho (in theory, I never did test... I should...) it works with regular xphasic torps.

It doesn't work with rapid fire transphasic. Tried it.

Rapid fire transphasic doesn't work with high yield either.

Working as intended or an oversight i don't know, but it's a crying shame. :'(
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I dunno how it doesn't work as I use it all the time, with the rapid reload phasics. Are you sure you're not thinking of the transphasic cluster torp ?
