It is a good news in itself indeed. But I will not hold too much expectations until there are more concrete news or something hits Tribble... KDF specific missions, yes, but which and how many?

But when it comes down to it, do we really have a choice otherwise?

Besides, we're not expecting him to deliver anything, or the opposite. We're simply waiting to see what the 'May' update is, and if it's actually something good for the KDF, then we rejoice. If it's not, then we continue as normal with minimal harm done.

My birthday is in May.. I'm holding out for one hell of a Birthday gift for my 56th birthday.

... that and sad as it is, I just gotta belive this time the goods get delivered.

I think they'll deliver in May. I don't expect that May will make KDF equal to the Fed. in content and no KDF player should expect that. But I have the feeling that it will bring some much needed KDF stuff in STO and that they will round up the Klingon faction so it will be a full faction with more content and also genuine content and that KDF play will be more enjoyable.
I'm not sure why, but I just have this feeling since a couple of months ago that they're shifting the game in a higher gear.

Keep in mind, nobody said anything about how much Klingon content was coming in May.

Usually I'm not one to be a downer but I'd hate to see the KDF's expectations inflate just to be popped again when "KDF content" turns out to be one episode.

they did the KDF one 'sode expansion allready.. it was a very very very good mission (Alpha)

but the fact that it was just a single mission did set folks off..

one of those "is that all there is?" moments..

I think we can safely expect a bit more then one hair frizzing mission this time.

I'm personally tired of spending money to only see Federation things added. I've purchased nearly every KDF ship from the C-store. Only recently did I buy some Fed ones.

What they do in May will decide if I find the worth in putting money into this game..

I personally don't believe Stahl when he says anything about KDF. They can fix bugs that make them money in under 24 hours. But, QoL stuff takes years to fix. I'll mention it again, when are we getting our Marauding boff reward fixed?

I mean seriously its been broken since Season 5 went live. We were told on Jan 16th 2013 "Top people are on this".

But, the fix won't make them money, so its never been looked into

Fixing things that make money is great, people will pay. Long term bugs that are not fixed brings down faith in the Devs.

Many people say "Cryptic's a bunch of Ferengi's"

I disagree, Ferengi's would not ignore 20% profit (If it's true that the KDF playerbase is only 20%)

Whose fault is that anyway? They really expect people to fully enjoy a faction that's only half complete?

Gotta spend money to make money.... take a risk Cryptic... you might be shocked by the turn out.

Do Federation only players think that KDF is complete right now?

The ones I know don't think it is or its fair.....

KDF has been lacking since launch... Yes, Cryptic has made sporadic strides in bringing KDF up to par. But, its been known since release whats needed is an updated mostly devoted to KDF development. i won't believe anything a Devs says till I see tribble notes. It's not being pessimistic, its just plain reality.

I'm holding off on buying Zen as well. If May brings the KDF updates to a worthy level, I'll drop some cash on Zen and get the Andorian pack (or some tasty new KDF stuff, if its there). If not, the Andorian ship will be brought by the Stipend.

One thing we do know the KDF is getting is new boot options, although the grumpy old TRIBBLE in me suggests thats the Extent of the May KDf update, I'd like to remain optmistic, but I my brain just won't get excited.

being as the raptor is a type of klingon ship and has nothing to do with romulans, i had a feeling that the green bird like image was more of a klingon nod. the romulan green may just mean a romulan conflict.

adding a third faction in a game where less than 20% of your total pbase even touches your 2nd faction would not be a good idea, and would require your dev team to split it's attention 3 ways instead of only 2.

I do think he meant there will be Klingon specific content in the month of May. However, it is not saying what or how much of it... that is where the issue lays.

I will not get too excited and wait for some actual official news or patch notes.

The biggest thing on that list that hasn't happened (imo): "Start as a KDF with your first toon"

This would be a major boon to the KDF faction. Right now a player has to start as a Fed, play through 24 levels, and *then* is given the option of making a Klingon at level 20. With those hoops to jump through and time invested on Fed, there's a good reason why the KDF is such a minority.

But with a much-needed tutorial revamp (of their revamp) and actual content for levels 0-20 (but how could they do that many episodes?), I'd consider that an acceptable "finish" of the faction, given that the ships are relatively comparable (I don't care too much if Fed has more given that KDF has roughly 50 Tier 5 vessels to fly) and all sectors are unlocked.

You will be disappointed.
I am sure we will get a few kdf things. But don't expect "fix" to equal fed.
All I hope the kdf get is a tutorial and change the starting time at level 1.
That is all.
Everything else would be a plus.

I have low expectation.

I am not going to hold my breath ever since I started played as KDF all we have are empty words and false promises and apart from the mission Alpha and Ferasians species there has been no KDF specific content. However DStahl has promised KDF stuff time and again then in the next sentence he says he would really like to do something with the KDF. I would be disappointed if Season 8 is not KDF specific and at this point I hope that a romulan faction is not being made just because if they can't finish one faction what hope do they have of making content for three factions.
I say Dstahl put your money where your mouth is you want us to take you at your word then do what you say

If a Romulan faction appears, I'll probably just go to ToR full time... Which is sad, because after playing STO for about 13 months, I just spent about $100 on it for the first time last month for dilithium and some fleet ships and weapons... I'd hate to see it go to waste, but if the direction the game goes in is to continue to push Klingons to the back burner and fail to deliever on the fulfillment of big expectations, I'm probably better off just cutting my losses and moving onto something else...

CptGecko mentionned they were working on new a tutorial mission. I guess now it's new tutorial missions now. We'll probably get some episodes too. If Stahl says it's in the may update then it's in the may update, because he never lied on the upcoming content for the next season.

Low level ships are ready (that's what they said in older interviews), so it's quite doable if they release 10-15 episodes to get a full faction. As long as they don't merge them.

Well of course the low level ships are ready. they've been ready for years and in-game too.

I would not be surprised if season8 comes up in may and the so called new kdf content happens to be the tutorial only and the ability to start off at lev 1 in the kdf.

I can see it now: hey guys! new content like we promised! Lev 1 KDF players using the same ships that have been available for years AND a new tutorial!!! We're sure you will all be so happy you'll delete your current KDF toons and re-roll as level 1 to enjoy all this awesome new content! And dont forget, the federation has received ten new triple-pack starships!!!
