Yes it's true: this ship has no windows

Hello,

I may be a bit slow on this matter, but I just realized that the Norgh Bird of Prey has no windows.
It was never an issue before for me until today when I bought the Fleet Norgh and wanted to see the different window options on this thing.
Bummer, there's literally nothing there to select.

Anyone else feel this is an oversight?

*EDIT:
Or is this some kind of bug, because there's at least one image I can find where the ship does have windows.

"- Put it on the viewscreen.
    + What?
    - Anything, I'm flying blind here!"

    Agreed, bit of an oversight.

Windows for a raider? How pass?.
With all the technology you want to rely on a window?
    To look at blackness?
If there is anything to look at that isnt the blackness of space you should be at your station
Should I start posting again after all this time?

I'm not sure I understand the problem.

At least, none of my KDF officers suffer from S.A.D. They're much too happy to blow things to hell. Do yours?

I don't rely on a window, but...and this may come as a shock for you...Klingon ships have windows.
All of them, including every Bird of Prey.
It gives the ship a sense of scale, it makes it feel more real.

    You don't want that? Fine.

The Norgh? I think i would have gone for the Hoh'sus if i was going to spend 200K fleet creds.

Good luck trying to buy a Fleet Norgh with Fleet Credits alone.:)

Joking aside: it costs 20,000 Fleet credits and 4 Fleet Ship Modules.
You can't buy it for Fleet Credits.
The good news is it's relatively easy to buy Fleet Ship Modules on the exchange (about 5.5 mill each) so I didn't spend any ZEN for it.

In addition to the Hoh'Sus, there also exists a Fleet version of the Hoh'Sus (confusing, but there are two different versions) of that ship as well.
It has a 10th console and some more hull points and shields.

Given that the shield and hull points of the Norgh were recently buffed to decent levels, the Fleet Norgh provides a very useful BO layout for me.
And I just love the looks of this one.

We put windows on our raider so that our crew on any level of the ship can witness the glory their Captain has brought them as they destroy a Federation Starship.
You know Cryptic has Jumped the Proverbial Shark when they introduced Tractor Pulling to Star Trek Online! :D

But take away the windows (because you arent going to be running to it each time one of those flying andorian coffins) and just have your sensors record it so that you can play it back on your DVD player over and over again.

Being the fragile ship its is the Norgh is designed his way for Zen PvP.

Use your instincts and "feel" where the target is.
Or it was designed by the Hele'n K'ellR academy of combat? :-P

The fleet Norgh is no fragile as of last week's patch. Well, not for a BoP, anyway.

It has 0.88 shield modifier as any fleet BoP (+10% over normal BoPs).

It has 750 more hull than the Hegh'ta.

And the bonus here, it's got 1 Comm and 2 (TWO) more Lt. Comm uni slots. The only downside is it keeps the non-fleet 9 console slots. But that makes it at least as good or better in all ways than a hegh'ta.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

If I am to be chased by dozens of different shaped grey ducks, makes more sense to.

Well, I've never met ducks that chased me anywhere.
I've seen some pretty angry swans hunting dogs, but never ducks.

I ask are you referring to the view screen as most all small Kdf ships don't have them open maybe it is used for tacical.

    Could you please elaborate?

We don't need windows. Our imagination can draw the whole picture just by listening to explosions and sound of their cracking hulls.

This is why I always disable sound effects in space combat games. Homeworld, Freelancer, STO, whatever. I love the atmosphere it gives.

Atmosphere...vacuum...I'm sure there's potential for a wordplay in there somewhere.:)

Um, wouldn't a ship's hull actually be stronger without windows? Seriously, think about it...

Given the level of technology in the STO universe its plausible that windows themselves could be holographic images (i.e. your personal quarters could have a window looking out at your family farm, Eiffle Tower, etc...)... Than your whole ship could have reinforced Neutronium Armour throughout without the weak points associated with windows.

    Dunno, just a thought.

Sound travels in space in Trek (sometimes).

The Voyage Home film had a probe in space that was listening for the sound that whales made. Whales that were on Earth, while the probe was in space.

Yes, and it was also originally intended for that conversation to get subtitles (I am not kidding).
However that does not mean there's actually sound in space, just that the authors were cought up in a whale-craze that was typical of the 1980's.:)

We didn't a good look how cloase the probe was so it might have been close enough to the atmosphere.
Also, there's a novel-sequel to the 4th movie that explains the whale probe used a special tractor-based system to create the effects from the movie.
So in theory it could have used the feedback from the atmosphere to receive the whale song via the tractor beam/pulse thing.
Doesn't mean sound travels through vacuum.;)

Actual Klingon ships do have windows but they're small and compact like airplane windows. They wouldn't be as visible like the fed ships windows because Klingons prefer low light conditions in their ships. I have the b'rel BoP manual, licensed by CBS so it's considered canon.
