Somebody in the picture said thread that Geko had stated that. However, they did not state either a source or a timeframe on when that was said...

...we'll definitely have to wait until they do the stats.

Because even in regard to the Ask Cryptic, it's not necessarily the Kumari that Stahl was talking about...

...but we like to speculate, right? :)

    Indeed we do.

Very little information this month... Most of the questions are personal requests for vanity stuff, ship or feature x. :(

Thanks Dan, another month without anything to look foward to. Why you bother to make this section anyway? You should call it "Don't ask Cryptic" and then we won't ask anything, and no one lose his time.

I think it's kind of funny at times reading these threads - because they're pretty much always the same in one aspect...

Stahl could list 9,999 things that were going to be added in the following two weeks...

...but because those 9,999 things were not something somebody wanted personally - then the 9,999 is garbage.

But that's the way it goes, eh?

That observation could have been clever if Stahl listed something actually to be added or aswered any of the question that were asked to him...

While statements like this have been lies before from what I hear, Stahl did say a Klingon tutorial was being made.

Just for fun, what purpose does a tutorial serve a faction with no missions level 1-20?

ask the most boring, benign and meaningless questions and you too can be featured on the monthly "Ask Cryptic." As an added bonus, you'll receive in return the most nonsensical and least informative answers we can provide.

I might as well have ask my 86 year old senile grandmother what to expect in the coming months.

Here is an idea. Do a live Q&A and broadcast it on youtube...and WE get to choose which questions you will answer.
No, I am not who you think I am. I am someone different. I am instead a banana.

The sad part is the thing that excited me the most was the suggestion we might actually get a beagle pet. I'm so easy.

    +1

I don't think I'll ever understand the developer's obsession with expanding the Mirror Universe. I understand it has its fans, but, surely, its the prime universe which should be the content priority. I worry that if a MU centric FE series was ever created it would send the wrong signal to the devs on how many people played it. I feel we'd all play it because we like any content over no content - and not because we prefer the game to delve into the Mirror Universe instead of primary canon meat and potatoes.

I don't either. But to be honest, I think he's just being poilte about the question. Just like he's being polite about mentioning possibilities for a Borg faction (that imo should never happen and never will), but we all know what is the next in line if there ever is a new faction added. So Stahl is being polite about sth. that might happen when we reach the actual 25th century.
I observe MU centric FEs just like that. Him being polite. I believe they have many other pressing and more important stroytelling content scheduled that that mess.
If this ever comes it'll probably come in pair with the Borg faction, in the 25th century :D

Oh and that might be actually something I won't play in STO. Not for being pig-headed & stubborn, I just don't relate to it. I used to jump those episodes in ST series. :D
Besides, since when a Universe is not enough?

I suspect the "interest in expanding the mirror universe" can be explained by the ease and low cost of reusing existing assets. Slap a new texture on a ship, maybe tweak the stats and console slots, done.

Spending a few missions as my mirror counterpart could be fun. Though I don't really think a full Terran Empire faction would be a good idea. Federation, Klingons, Romulans and maybe Ferengi/neutral. Nothing else.

No, it wouldnt ... also you are pretty much talking about duplicating the entire prime universe in mirror form and despite some fans, there inst much about it.

Also sorry but I rather NOT play as a Fascist in space.

Yeah, I mean what's the point of it really?
Don't we have enough content resources in one universe, so we need another?
    Meh..

I wonder if it might be feasible to add Fleet projects where you can change the architecture style, and maybe even the predominance of the crew to match the architecture. For the Feds it would be nice to see Andorian or Vulcan built bases; and, KDF side, a Gorn base with Gorn personnel as the rule or an Orion base with mainly Orions would be pretty cool.

Well, who says we have to win at the end of it? Mirror Archer certainly didn't, and neither did mirror Worf or mirror Garak.

All sounds very positive except for this part ...
Q: (rifter1969) I know there was talk and rumblings a while ago that Betazed is going to be introduced. I'm wondering when that will be. Also more, IMO, when will we see Tellar? Tellarites are founding members of the Federation and their home world isn't at least depicted?

Dstahl: There is a sector to galactic left of Sol where we would like to add an Alpha Quadrant sector devoted to many founding members of the Federation. It also contains interesting species such as the Tzenkethi and we?ve had some ongoing discussions about how other species, like the Ferengi, might be involved in this sector. At this point, it is a ways out on our radar, but we are discussing this sector internally. We have also considered this a possible starting point for a Foundry authored ?sector?, where the majority of the missions are akin to ?Sector Spotlight? missions, all authored by the community ahead of time. So there is a good chance you?ll see us do something with Betazed, Tellar and the other nearby systems in the years to come.

    That is just ridiculous .

Talk about having someone else doing your job.

SO a ship with more than 4 forward and 4 back slots??? Interesting

I am thinking we might see a ship (e.g. perhaps the Kumari even?) with 5 forward and 2 aft weapons?

I don't think that any nine-weapon ships will be showing up until the level cap raise comes around and we have true Tier 6 ships (at which point all Fleet ships will probably get an additional 5-10% shields and hull to keep them competitive).

Wasn't there some talk about a ship that could mount cannons on its sides? Meaning maybe only one fore and aft weapon, but two port and starboard side slots to allow for full on cannon broadsides.

A broadside ship, captain gecko mentioned it sometimes, would be silly i think :/ ... i mean there is a trash factor but :D you know ... and we have turrets!

another point i want to say why are some complaining about this ask cryptic first it is only good as the questions (a question answered every month isnt good), second not every firma does somethink like this.
in the past he and the other devs said much more and everyone cryed because somethink changed and now they are more secretive ... think about: if you would be nicer to them they would be nicer to you ...

    .

Depends how they do it, if the ship can mount DHC and fire from the side I would love it.

Shorter list and answering questions that everyone has already heard asked a million times... Could it be it was rushed to divert attention from the bigger FM issue?

Hi Devs: I like to asked will there be new costume option for our character? What I like to see is about 3/4 slot open up for your federation characters to had 4 disguises for mission. Say like a Borg drone, klingon, pirate card etc. Then the go on mission undercover? To me this sound like a cool option for this game

I got the impression the person you quoted meant that the prime universe Feds, KDF, Romulans, and Ferengi / neutral were enough, not that they were saying we should have mirror everything except Terran in the game.

Which is a pretty good set of factions, although I would also want a True Way or a Dominion faction as well.

And who wouldn't want to play as a Tholian?

Dear Dan. In response to this:

So there is a good chance you?ll see us do something with Betazed, Tellar and the other nearby systems in the years to come.

Please don't do this addition if you are not going to assign anyone to give us the props and maps to make missions in this sector.

I don't want to build Ferenginar out of Cardassian buildings. Please either gives us the resources or don't give us the doors. Giving us doors and not resources is like asking your own team to build New Romulus with stuff made for the True Way.

Noob question alert: what are sockets/socketables?
    Intel i5 2500k @ 4.4GHz / 16Gb DDR3 RAM @ 1600MHz / GeForce GTX1060 6Gb / Corsair Glaive / Corsair K70 RGB Rapidfire

Socketable items are items that have a space to add something that changes it's value or performance. For instance, if you had a klingon disruptor that you could plug a Romulan module into, you might get a disruptor with a secondary plasma damage attribute.

Away team of ships as mentioned in a few prior ask cryptic sessions.. when if ever will we get use of this? I would love to de-mothball some of my shps, assign a crew gear and role.. my own escort(S) ship(DOff)-style missions, my own fleet to command (as a vice and soon full admiral? maybe Fleet admiral?)????
