  I've noticed that the older I get, the more different kinds of music I can enjoy listening to..
  
  Closest to my heart is probably Metal/Hard Rock and Dance/R&B (I think we have too many genres lol). And I remember in my teens I would flee the room if someone put on something like country or opera, but later I gradually started to like country, and now I can even tolerate some opera. I like anything new once or more if I think it's good, and I like re-mixes and dubstep.
  
  Hm, some link.. If you want to hear some pretty epic violin music / dubstep and covers I'd recommend checking out Lindsey Stirling.

  i almost got no restrictions regarding to music (except most mainstream:rolleyes:) and am open minded for new things (punkrock, hiphop, easy-listening, jazz, classic, electronic music in whole, etc, "preferred" ).... there are no bad artists, there are only bad songs.
  for this one no explanations needed, klick it and enjoy a real artist!

  My musical tastes are pretty broad, encompassing everything from Royksopp to the Rolling Stones and everything in between... My favorite kind of music is probably easy-listening Jazz, but my favorite era for music (and everything else really) is late 60s-early 70s :cool:

  Sometimes, while I playing the STO, I get in the mood to listen to one of the following songs. Nothing offensive about them, I think, though they are all from the same band.
  
  
  This is Why We Fight. The traditional Squatsauce fight song.
  
  Burying Davy. This starts off as a spooky-sounding song and grows rather intense.
  
  When the War Came. A song about the brave men and women who defended the precious seed bank at the Vavilov institute during the siege of Stalingrad.
  
  The Queen's Rebuke. Because Shara Worden's voice pleases me.

  Anyway, last time I put my headphones on I listened to my favorite Russian Pagan Metal band... ok so it's the only Russian Pagan Metal band I listen to so its kinda my favorite by default. I also named my Kamarag after them, the I.K.S. Arkona.

  Playing my Feds I listen to a lot space rock and prog metal - Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Muse, Coheed & Cambria, Bruce Dickenson and the like.
  
  On the KDF side I put on neo-classical and symphonic power metal - Apocalyptica, Rhapsody, Dragonforce etc.
  
  And then whenever I launch a new starship I play "That New Car Smell" - track 13 off the Star Trek 2009 OST.

  I don't know if having it stuck in your head counts as listening, but The Dog is Mine by Canadian national treasure K-OS.

  I realized in retrospect that perhaps brutal Icelandic pagan metal was a bad call during a volatile situation, what with all the violence and stuff Vikings are known for.
  
  So I have compiled a list of dark ambient and related genre tracks to bring the mood down a few notches. Beware, some of these run long (I'll not run times on links that are exceptionally long [>10 minute]).

  Wednesday I was listening to "Misty Mountains" Violin/A Cappella cover by Jun Sung Ahn & Peter Hollens.
  
  Thursday I was listening to "The Last Time" by Tayloy Swift
  
  Friday I was listenng to "Demons" by Imagine Dragons.
  
  Also as of yesterday after listeing to meteorite explosions and screams I have really fallen in love with the new version of Phil Collin's "In the Air Tonight" that plays in the new Dead Space 3 trailer and the song is perfect for a day when meteorite's rain down from the sky, leaving trails of flames behind them... They obviously travel faster than 88 MPH.
  
  Right now today (which is Caturday I believe), I'm listening to "You" by Candlebox.
