Cant open game since last patch

"Error reading application id. Please either write it to steam_appid.txt or use the launcher"
I'm getting sick of this error when I patch up STO.... seriously....

Updated the launcher still doesn't work. II wonder when I have the right to be pissed I can't launch the game that I keep foolishly investing in.

By steam or Crypt/PW launcher give everytime some errors...
"The Patchclient got a message while it was in a state with no response function".

Restarted computer a fourth time... seems to have worked. Until the next issue :P

2. Look for your STO desktop shortcut (should be C:\Users\Public\Games\Cryptic Studios)
3. Copy/Replace the downloaded file to that location in step 2
4. Restart Computer (the registry should fix itself on a restart; if not try shutting down completely and booting back up or restart again)
That's what worked for me.
