The research lab scientist doff dominion lockbox procs with all abilities

The new ground research lab scientist duty officer is bugged. The confuse power procs with many science powers, such as: nanite health monotir, triage (in this case the confuse affect allies), vascular regenerator, medical tricorder, tricorder scan III, and all the abilities from the physicist kit too. I suspect it procs with all science powers, except: scientific aptitude II, nanoprobe infestation III.

When we use a triage III we can see the neural neutralizer ability animation when we use triage and it affects allies.

Tested on a fed char with two research lab scientist doffs with a medic Mk X purple kit and a physicist Mk X kit.

The tooltips also mention the confuse proc on all the abilities i've mentionned.

This is true, and it is TERRIBLE!!!! This literally breaks Ground PvP. I don't usually complain about things that are "broken" or whatever, but this make GPvP nearly unplayable. I went in for my first match today, and discovered that for 50-75% of the time, I couldn't shoot at the enemy. It was ridiculous. Ground PvP is one of the few things that held my interest in this game for a long time, and to see it pretty much completely trashed by a grievous bug such as this is a blow.

This is BAD! Please fix it. It appears that all the new abilities that are being added, Doff, Boffs, and what else has no filter! It really looks like sloppy work Cryptic!

Well that's good. Make sure you also work on the confuse of people in your faction. One of the players using it said they confused each other (their teammates) just as much.

Additionally, it can be used to confuse level 55 security guards on ESD. I saw one mow down people around the exchange. It wasn't pretty. Three people dead in one burst from 55 minigun.

Edit: Someone is repeatedly confusing the security NPCs in ESD, and they are on a rampage. So this needs a fix ASAP not just for GPvP, but for innocent people trying to access the exchange.

By the way, the confuse is not resisted by willpower.

I'm sorry, I know it is terrible, but I also find that this is just freaking hilarious.

Oh god I'm still laughing even after being shot to pieces by a drunken SecOff. And I'm a tac so there's no way I did that!

"Last Engage! Magical Girl Origami-san" is in print! Now with three times more rainbows.

Support the "Armored Unicorn" vehicle initiative today!

Thanks for Harajuku. Now let's get a real "Magical Girl" costume!

I don't think it was funny. The player in question noted that the more deaths there were, the more people would be talking, and the faster the issue would be resolved, and the faster we could all get back to GPvP. Unfortunately, rather than demonstrating once or twice, then reporting or posting here, the player repeatedly confused NPCs, allowing them to kill many unsuspecting players who were checking the exchange.

Incidentally, using the confuse on other players in ESD allows them to attack things and use unallowed powers, like engineer turrets and cover shield, etc.

Lol, I used to hate patch Thursdays because they broke so many things in the game but these days I can hardly wait for the next patch to see what new fun exploits Cryptic is giving us! Keep up the good work devs. The game hasn't been this fun for a loooong time. :)

Ah, so this is what people are using to kill NPC's on ESD? Some are also using it to kill players by getting others caught in the crossfire.

Nice to know what is actually going on when I see it.

I noticed that too. Saw a player use an AOE buff that affected the security NPCs on ESD near the tailor then the player took off running. The security NPCs then attacked and killed 4 players standing in front of the tailor. I targeted the security officer to see what buff it was and it said Triage III.

Later another player use an ability that was like a tricorder scan and I noticed I had a weird buff on me. The buff on myself said Research Lab Scientist. That player kept using buffs on the NPCs until they attacked other players then left after a few minutes. Another player there then started doing the same thing and I got killed just standing there. Strangely, both players I saw had white M.A.C.O armor with the helmet.

I use the "Report to GM" on both players I saw doing this. Doubt it will have any effect though. :(

I think it might be silly to report people for this... but even if it is technically against the rules to exploit bugs or glitches this seems so harmless except for a minor annoyance that I think perhaps Cryptic might considering using this for April Fools in specific zones or something.

Do you remember about 2 weeks ago the red text NOTICE at the top of every page on the forums? It was about the KDF going to ESD and Feds going to Qo'nos. They were killing NPCs and pulling them out of the designated locations (Admiral Quinn on ESD all the way inside Club 47 as an example). The notice on the forums said to report players for this behavior and they were going to fix it soon. YOU may think this doesn't harm anyone but it is very annoying.

I don't find what players are doing as "funny". Not in the least bit.

When they do it to grief players who are just using vendors or trying to use the bank I think it's worth reporting. Just my two cents.

Well, consider that Q is around. He's known for causing all kinds of trouble for players. It could be a joke on his part.

As for reporting players, if they constantly spam it on sec officers, that's when I'd report them. I've also seen cases where the player drops it onto an engineer friend, and the engineer drops a transphasic bomb in a crowded area, and detonates it, or drops an orbital strike.

On a side note though, Q can be reduced to zero health through this bug, but not killed. Though I do admit, its really annoying when in a Ground STF and trying to heal players with Tucoura On-Duty.
