"Free Torp Launcher with Login"?

What's all this about a free torpedo launcher?

Right above the login/create new account box, on the spalsh page (NOT) the homepage with the news headings; the one where you can watch the trailer).

    I did this post earlier. Only aplies to new members who join the game.
    If you want to know , it is a mk 2 quantum , rare. Only oner per account and not resuable
    Hopefully I'll come back from my break; this break is fun; I play intellectual games.

    I hope STO get's better ...

    I respectfully disagree. To a new player a Mk 2 Rare ship weapon sounds pretty cool. I think it's a brilliant idea to give a little incentive to create a new account. Thereby attracting a few new players. :D

    Yeah, it's the sort of item a new player would want, and it's being given to new players.

    Well, I'm not going to hate on Cryptic for giving new players free stuff. We need new blood to buy stuff from the Cstore and keep the game going. So by all means give them stuff, and be glad that the free item is "lame" because imagine if it was awesome and was only given to new players. Imagine how angry the vets would be and how much of a slap in the face it would be to people.

    A friend of mine just created an account and commented that he didn't get any Torpedo launcher what so ever. Not in the mail, not on the ship, not in the inventory or bank.

    So what's up with that? False Advertisement?

    The code to redeem it, as well as in-game redemption instructions, is emailed with the registration confirmation email. Have him check his email.

    Only thing he got was a "summary" page that links to the STO webpage and the Computer Authorization Email. Nothing else was sent.

    Have him check his spam box just in case, but it's automatically sent if he signed up since the promotion started. I just tested this internally and got the code emailed instantly. If he still can't find the email, he can reach out to customer service for them to provide him a code.

    Not there, but a CSR ticket was filed. But if it is a MK II Torpedo, then it's going to be useless by the time he gets it.

    I saw this about a month ago when I cleaned my cache/cookies but after I logged in it was gone LOL and never seen again.

    This seems like a good promotion.

    Early level good torpedoes are hard to find, and are also very expensive on the exchange.


    Now I would say that it would be a good idea to make this torpedo launcher account bind on equip.

    I got no idea how its bound since I have had my account since.... Season 2 I think. So if its already bind on account, ignore what I said.
    Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

    It's bound to your character, but you can claim it on all characters as it's an account-wide unlock :)

    My friend had the same problem, so it might be a bit more widespread than you think.

    new player. nothing received too. how long a delay before this phantom confirmation email is sent from registration. Already made Lt.Commader, and can't buy a 2nd ship either for 1 credit.

    go to earth space dock talk to admiral quin he will give you a token to buy a free ship at level 10 20 30 and 40 the 40 ship is the last free one but set it up good it'll last at 50 no free ship but you can still use the free 40 one fantastically

    is there a mission I need to complete first or something? I didn't get a token or option from the admiral. I'll double check again.

    nevermind. found it. i had to set to Lt.Commander for the token to show up. user error, albeit a little bit concealed. I was looking at the ensign level ships and the 500cp costs. Where's my token? lol.
