welcome to the club, now, practice what you say,and convince others to do the same. They're not going away, unless we make them unprofitable for Cryptic, and right now, they are.

Or Cryptic could make another just as profitable plan that we're all happy with.

Hahahaha. There is no way to have a plan that we'ra all happy with. There will always be one person that is unhappy no matter what someone does. There could be an item that grants everyone's wishes with the minor stipulation that wishes that harm others are invalid and still someone will not be happy about it.

The Borg have the solution in making everyone happy or at least don't complain. It is just those pesky humans that make their plan to make everyone happy impossible.

I turn all the lockboxes I find into StarFleet Command so their rightful owners can be located. What happens after that is beyond me. Rumour has it that some nefarious, unscrupulous, officers break into them like luggage handlers at the airport. Anyone I find doing that on my crew is summarily dismissed.

Okay, "Most of us happy", you know, needs of the many vs. needs of the few sort of thing?

    NOT

I'm really starting to hate this!! I kill a boss, i expect to receive his powerful tetryon blaster but no, suddenly a huge ferengi box appears. I tried to collect them, just to see how many i could have in a few missions. I think if these lock boxes even had a pricetag on them when selling them, i could buy a fleet of gold pressed sovereign class vessels!!

a fleet of gold pressed sovereign class vessels!!

Put that into a lockbox and I may start opening some but I do understand your pain here, being able to complete the objective then bang there is the lockbox icon I hate that with a passion

Some of us have been discussing mailing them to the devs personal accounts. Viva la resistance!

I think Uncommon, Rare and Very Rare OTHER ITEMS should be pushed up by at least 5% on the drop randomization cortex.

Lol seems a joke of Q.

No but really, it just stupid. The number of boxes i already collected or by accident have put in my inventory by clicking fast on 'take item"... I can fill an entire system of it or make a space system block to prevent the borg from crossing the alpha quadrant border.

According to the FAQ, the lock-boxes drop in addition to regular loot. So even if the lockboxes didn't exist, you still wouldn't have been able to loot that tetryon blaster.

In a free to play game, making a profit is key and the company must be creative to generate revenue. If they don't generate revenue the game dies. I'll take the lock boxes and let the game live, albeit a bit annoyed by the amounts. Some players have the money to buy the keys and open the boxes. This provides income to the devs who have created a wonderful Star Trek universe. So ease up on them a bit It's a company, they must answer to the stockholders, and the stockholders want a return. Lets give them one by supporting them whenever we can!

I've bought the silver subscription in the early days of the game. I supported the game, I was there from the beginning. Lots of people that were here in the beginning are gone or are just lurking now I think.

I don't care if they place these ferengi lockboxes in a normal amount somewhere but this more like spam almost.

Killing difficult enemies and getting an item that is like: a small hypospray and a lockbox or only the lockbox.
This is like you come home with a girl that looks like kate beckinsale, only to find out she's is actually a dude.

during stf's i beat the boss and collect the awards and instead of another weapon or EDC i get a mystery lock box which is mostly the same as regular lock boxes.

Whats worse is when you do one of the earlier missions where you put out fires...and putting out a fire gives you alockbox...

    Yeah those mystery boxes..

I was thinking the first time I saw them: "mmh, could be something special?"

But noooo!!! We get a ferengi lock box!

Cleaning up the usually overfilled inventory every ten minutes is annoying indeed. At least some sort of loot filter, which prevents you from interacting with lock boxes and all sorts of consumables is required in my opinion.

I too fell for this trap. . .
In my experience and from what I hear from others in 99.99% of cases the "mystery" box contains a green lockbox.

Not much of a mystery is it?

I think the borg should make an outpost near FED and Klingon space, where they buy your lock boxes at low prices.

this would be beneficial to all. you would get some money for it, and the borg can keep their warmachine running with the brand new cubes, made out of lock boxes.

edit: once I had a cardie gold box in a mystery box :) I opened just for the heck of it (it woulda been a good story if it had the galor in it), but it contained a crappy console
btw I have like a 100 cardie boxes on my character (it is a Cardassian, so this is kinda sentimental), now I can sell them for 100k creds. if I wait long enough, the time might come, when each of them worth a 100k

Your crazy. We have a defense against the borg! Now you want them to be invincible?!

Why in the world would anyone pay $1.25 for a chest with a random drop in it? Or even $11.25 for 10 keys??? I mean, spend it on ANYTHING else makes more sense. Two dollars for a duty officer pack, or $5 for an outfit, but buying keys for a random drop chest?? Everyone of my friends and I started playing this we were like wtf? Delete, delete, delete. Truthfully, I'd like an option in game to auto delete any lockboxes I loot, since I'm willing to pay $50 for the Odyssey class cruisers, willing to pay for more slots in bank, bridge officers, etc, but any money for a random chest/lockbox? Just crazy, no other F2P game I have tried can I think of that being in, DDO, SWTOR, LOTRO, I can go on and on, and even if they did, I'd still not know anyone buying keys for some random loot. I mean, just go kill a few more guys, they'll randomly drop some items for ya instead of spending money to see what randomly appears from the chest.... in fact I'd state in game I'll trade you a MK VIII + blue for only $1.00 of Zen, saving yourself $.25 of zen! So instead of hoping for something good, come see me in game I will let you select among a long list of blues for zen, instead of some stupid random chance from a random chest..... silliest thing in an amazing game.

PS - moderators, not trying to sell anything, just making an example, though if it were possible without being against any rules.... ya I'd totally sell blues and epics for zen.
