I have seen here in STO forums that "I quit threads" are shutdown immediatley. Yet in Champions online they go on for weeks...Why is that? Cryptic is involved in both games, and so is PWE...I dont get it..does anyone have an Explanation for this?
Star Trek players in general are somewhat more vocal on their opinions, and since F2P and the loss of consequence of loosing a account, it's only gotten worse.
People create accounts they only use to troll around, while their primary account remains safe.
When you say "I quit" here, the lovers of the game go nuts and the haters flame the lovers... Then of cause there are people like me, who really only want their stuff (couldn resist).
Basically here, a "I quit" thread turns into a flame-war, while at champs, it's still a flame war, but the flames aren't Eiffel-tower size, and hence don't draw as much mod-attention.
Also, in a game that shall remain unnamed, but is related to this forum, certain mods are just very trigger happy, and abusive in their power.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Geordi modified a deflector pulse to increase the effectiveness of community moderation?
You have not offered anything by posting this. No answer, No suggestion, Nothing. There is nothing wrong with the question i have asked. There isnt anything derogatory about it. I'ts a simple question as to why its different here, as opposed to somewhere else. The last time i asked a question on these forums, i got the same result. The community mod, had stated to me in the post, to keep asking questions when i had them, and not let others discourage me from asking, even when flamed by them. I am really beggining to think this is the worst community, game related ive been a part of.

Actualy this was a more interesting way of stating "These are things that we may never know because there is no real answer." Its also under the heading of "humor".
Given that the rules are the same for both forums and the only difference is people, the actual answer may lie in human nature and reactions.
Since bran may in fact be better at his job and therefor closed more "I quit" threads than his counterpart of Champs.
Or maybe the people incharge of champs don't really care about the "I quit" threads because it has been around for much longer and has therefor garnered more of these threads than STO.
Or maybe Geordi did infact modifiy that deflector pulse.

Ugh... they have always been against the rules here. Probably since Stormshade... they are stupid and serve no purpose and should be against the rules on every forum anyway.... it's not like anyone could change anything with the power of their words in some some self immolation of a rage quite post...
Half the time they come back anyway since this is Star Trek.
It's probably this way from the beginning because they knew that they had no choice but to launch a game that was half finished or have their IP license pulled due to the squandering of time by Perpetual. Hence, the forum would be loaded with cry babies from the beginning who expected WoW quality and quantity. If the rumor is true, once the lvl 1-50 KDF content drops next season... I'd say that this game is where it should have been when it launched.
What people don't get is that it's the numbers that count, they don't care about your opinion or the opinions of many other than reports of issues with items or powers or the stability of the game (technical issues). The rest is derived by mining the database which was a core feature of the F2P transition and mentioned by the devs. They can better track what people do, how they earn things, and what they spend it on. You don't think they actually listened to the outrage on the forums after Season 7 do you? They don't care as most of the time its a small few who make the most noise... They call it signal to noise ratio... and the numbers are not noisy. They looked at the numbers and saw that no one was running STFs and everyone was running fleet actions... so they made the changes and everyone was happy.

In STO with all of it's heavy licensing with CBS etc. and lawsuit filing lawyers over there in the U.S., they want to try limit all our forum activity to be about Star Trek stuff.
And the forum activity that fall outside of that or are in "the gray area" is thrown into rules/policies to make it fast and easy to just lock down.
Actualy this was a more interesting way of stating "These are things that we may never know because there is no real answer." Its also under the heading of "humor".
See, you dont know because you dont ask...and i dont find everyone's questions funny. Perhaps sometimes people ask a question in a serious manner, not a humorous one. Like myself..

Are the rules the same on both forums? I thought they would be since they are both Cryptic, and PWE, which is also why i asked..
Since bran may in fact be better at his job and therefor closed more "I quit" threads than his counterpart of Champs.
This i dont know..who would? Does someone really track how many posts Branflakes closes compared to his "counterpart" on Champs?
Or maybe the people incharge of champs don't really care about the "I quit" threads because it has been around for much longer and has therefor garnered more of these threads than STO.
Well that would be a sad state of the game wouldnt it? I certainly dont think that would do Cryptic or PWE any good right? Because noone cares about Champions, the mods dont even police the forums?
Or maybe Geordi did infact modifiy that deflector pulse.
I would have to disagree, because Scotty did it in half the time..

Why, you planning to quit?
Basically Bran is more passionate about STO, the man practically lives over at Cryptic Studios - also the "I quit Thread" Rule against it, has been around for like forever.
I cannot say much about Champions Online, though I do have an account and I played the game for awhile, but I never traverse its forums. All I have to say is to each its own. It probably a fact that the mods operate differently over there.
That, or the mere fact that STO is by far more popular than Champs.

Shrug. Some people are just no fun to talk to.

discussing moderation is against the rules too, and i think this thread is doing it. (if my interpretation of the rules is correct, since i can't discuss it i can't ask about it either )
