Who else thinks it would be great to see these ships in STO?

I for one would drop Points on the Scout ship in a heartbeat, best looking small ship in Star Trek.

The Son'a Battleship would make a great Lockbox vessel, along with the Son'a Command Ship as well.

The Sona ship was actually my first prediction for next lockbox/C-store ship before they announced the Andorian and Breen ships (technically the Breen ship isn't box/store, but c'mon, they're going to release it eventually.

I wouldn't bet on Data's scout ship, though. It looks like a fatter Delta, and playable small craft are among the store's worst sellers. If anything I'd bet that the next playable small craft will be a Romulan Scorpion. Makes sense given the focus on New Romulus.

Data's Scout ship could be a half-way between shuttles and Starships. From the other games that have included the scout, it plays like a mini-defiant.

If they gave it better stats then all the current shuttles, it would sell, plus it would be an excuse to make a new small craft for the KDF.

Well there were different classes of Breen ships if I remember, Data's scout isn't really very big so it would fall somewhere in the shuttle/fighter category. I can see the Scorpion making it's debut as a flyable ship since every other carrier fighter has made to a flyable version, but to me the Scorpion looks too much like a flying batmobile. With Season 7 being mostly about New Romulus i could see a Romulan ship showing up in lock boxes but I doubt it would be the Scorpion, that I could see in the C store, I doubt many would gamble lock boxes for just a fighter.

From what the Movie showed, It served as a Breed between a Runabout and a Scout ship.

Basically it's the Alpha-quadrant variant of the Delta-flyer (even seems to be inspired by the same design principals).

While the The Delta-type runabout is mainly a support/science variant of the runabout, the Venture-class (as called in Armada), is more of a Escort type variant (Seriously... it could disable a Son'a Frigate), so it even fits into the STO model:

    - Runabout: Cruiser
    - Delta Class: Science
    - Scout: Escort.

And YES... We already have the Peregine as Escort... With that In mind, the Venture might be flexible enough to be called a Destroyer
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

I assume by "other games" you mean Armada.;)
That it had half the firepower of a Defiant in that game was mostly because the pulse cannon was the smallest weapon available in that game.

Another look at this would be: it was as well armed as the Romulan scout from "The Defector" that seemed to be pretty much like a Romulan Runabout, given its size.

Does it really need to be "better"?
Wouldn't it be enough if it were different?
Between the Runabout with an Impulse Mod of 0.2 and a turnrate of 24 and the Peregrine with an Impulse mod of 0.3 and a turnrate of 33, there's as whole lot of room Cryptic can play with.

Unfortunately I think Cryptic wasted a chance to sell another KDF shuttle with the reskin of the Toron.:(

well, everyt since I took on Donatra I have wanted the Scimitar so it would be a nice ship to fly specially if it's requisitioned from the rescue mission or even from the borg themselves (Would be sooooo awesome)

(Crosses fingers) Please have the fleet patrol escort console layout, please have the patrol escort console layout

    I know it won't but damn it I can dream can't I?

While the Son'a ships do look nice. I think they would have to somehow incorporate them into the storyline to make those ships available.

It would be really cool if they could make the Scimitar Class as a playable ship :D

Incorporating the Son'a should be easy. After all they reintegrated into the population of that planet. Who knows, they could be a member of the United Federation of Planets now. Also in DS9 apparently they were for a time allied with the Dominion, so there is another avenue for having their ships in the game.

I doubt Cryptic would sell a lockbox where a small craft was the main draw. Like I said, small craft don't sell well, so no one would buy keys for 'em.

Given lockbox history a Scorpion would most likely be a Lobi store item (like the Tholian Widow or Aeon/Rohzenko Timeship), or a pack-in with a new Romulan ship (like the Tal'Kyr with the D'kyr Vulcan ship. There's also a very small chance they'd just put it out on the C-store like the Yellowstone Runabout, Stalker and Peregrine, but again, small craft are low sellers (average price 500Z), so they may see more profit in selling 100-lobi items (minimum price of $10/1000z) than taking up space in the C-store.

The "pack-in" option is unlikely because Cryptic have said they want to hold off on releasing mainline Rommie ships (like Warbirds and BoPs) until the playable Romulan faction gets worked on. And as anyone on this forum knows, that's going to be a LONG while yet. Hell, fleshing out the KDF is higher on that priority list, even.

Doubtful. From the movie the scout ship (I won't call it Venture because STO already has a Venture-class ship) isn't that much bigger than a Runabout. The largest small craft in the game is the Tal'Kyr support shuttle, which in game-model terms is half the size of a Rommie BoP (comparison within the Vault shuttle event).

Plus, so far Cryptic's favored size for Destroyer-class ships seems to be the Aquarius at minimum, with the Mobius and Chimera in the medium and upper-size of the spectrum.

That makes sense. What would a Son'a ship's gimmick console be, though? The Regent already took the Metreon gas trick. Personally I'd like it to be photonic-based, in tribute to the movie's holodeck-ship antics.

Isolytic Burst would be my guess. Maybe have it be something like the aftershock tear from a from a Tricobalt, except it'd track and follow the target.

I would tend to agree. Considering that the Son'a messed w/Subspace weapons, that would seem a reasonable ability.

I also agree with several others in the thread, I'd think I'd drop Zen on getting a Scorpion Fighter before getting the scout ship.

    Thank you for the time...

Cryptic, would you actulaly like me to spend actual Money? It's Simple:
    • Full, Story-driven, select from start 1-50 Klingon Side
    • Scrap current Lock Box & Lobi system for something more reasonable
    • Expand Dil and Rep/Fleet Marks to regular story content
