There should be a bundle pack to buy both of these at a discounted price. Same goes for all Tier 3 / Tier 5 ship pairs.

Does anyone know if all three versions, (two c-store, and one fleet) all have the same costume unlocks, the Excelsior and the Enterprise-B type?

    If I recall correctly;
    • Tier 3 comes with the regular Excelsior costume.
    • Tier 5 comes with the Enterprise B / Lakota costumes.
    • Fleet version comes with the Fleet texturing.

Acquiring the different ships unlocks their respective costume parts for use on all variants.

Slight issue, the Tier 5 is not showing in the c-Store (for me at least).

When I follow the direct link I get an "Item not found" message and it doesn't show if I brose the store (I already own both T3 and T5 but do not have "hide already unlocked" box ticked).

Are you looking on the website or the in-game store? Website will hide some purchase, especially if made before F2P hit. The in-game can also be flaky about showing pre-F2P purchase but you can still claim/reclaim the ships form the ship vendors.

How much is the Fleet Module discount supposed to be?

I have bought the Retrofit but are still asked to use 5 Fleet Modules for the Fleet Version.

    :(

Did you get the Retrofit from Z-Store or token, only Z-store version gets the discount?

EDIT: they have updated it in the Z-Store a few times, might have to reclaim it if from Z-store.

    Got the C-Store version.

I don't own the Tier 3 version but this shouldn't matter, right?

You may need to claim or re-claim the T5 version on the character you are using to look at the Fleet Ship with.

I bought the T3 version when I was leveling my character. Had a lot of fun using the iconic Excelsior Class. I wouldn't mind buying the T5 version either. Which is very soon. Since I'm wanting a different ship other than the Sovereign Class to use.

Looking at the Excelsior vs. my Sovereign. It is more Eng. spec. Which is different from the Sovereign being more tactical based. So this ship would be an excellent candidate for me to buy and use. To give me a different option on playing different missions.

Maybe someone can enlighten me as to why people would buy the 2.000-Zen C-Store Excelsior, rather than going that small step further and getting the 10-console Fleet version?

In my view of it. I have alot of things going on in life. Work, family, etc. So my gaming time is limited. Which I log on only a few hours per week. Therefor I really don't have time to hit the Fleet missons/battles to gain Fleet Points. Or can set a time to meet with my group just to do a mission. Since my time varies each time I log on. More than once I have to leave the game due to something came up. So its not good for any group. And waste for me since I can't finish what I started.

So for ones like me, the Fleet Ships are not really achievable. However buying on the C-Store gives me a chance for a nice ship to use. Even though the stats are lower. I'm still using my "Free" Sovereign Class ship. Currently not decided on which ship to buy. With the Excelsior, Galaxy, Galaxy Dreadnaught, or Odyssey. Soon as I made up my mind I will be happy to buy one to use other than the Sovereign.

Fleet ships is not for everyone. So C-store is the best option. Playing a game is good for me to escape normal life. And something I enjoy when I do have some time to do it. I'm glad the offer options for the ones who can't play hours each day of the week.

The Fleet version costs 5 Fleet Modules (2500 Zen) to purchase for one character. Purchasing the C-Store Excelsior (2000 Zen) unlocks that Excelsior for all Fed characters on your account, and discounts the required Fleet Modules to 1 (500 Zen) for all such characters, making it a 2500 Zen purchase either way for a single character. However, purchasing it for multiple characters is thus much cheaper.

The Fleet Modules can be purchased off the Exchange, however, if you prefer not to spend any Zen at all on them.

Wait, this has a transwarp console now? I bought my Excelsior a long time ago. Does this mean that I will have this console now?

The T5 version has a built in transwarp ability, but it is currently missing the Zeta Andromida, Orellius, Gamma Orionis, and Pelia sector blocks from the list. If they could get that fixed it would be great. ;)

That would be more of an 'addition' than a 'fix', as the ship never had those sectors to begin with.

They just added the Tau Dewa sector to the list though, so it's not inconceivable that this couldn't happen.

I'm not positive, but believe the Tuffili freighter has those sectors on its list, so Cryptic may not wish to step on the toes of folks who own that ship, as it could be perceived as devaluing their purchase.

Some players don't have a tier 3 starbase yet. Plus if you have several toons (I have 4 Fed' toons) it drops the cost of purchasing Fleet Excels for all of them much cheaper.

I am one of those in such a fleet that must consider the C-store if i want a ship. Soon finished the Tier2 shipyard. I. Do not believe i will get access to the T3 shipyard anytime soon. The new exelcior look like something my eng captain could need for her leisurely trekking through space.

I know the feeling. My fleet is halfway through tier 2 on its way to tier 3. We lost a couple of players before the starbase thing and recruiting has jumped to counter. Otherwise, the three guys who have contributed at least 1 million marks each (one guy is at 6 mill'). I want the Fleet Excel and FLeet Nebula so bad that I can taste them (tritanium tastes horrbile though).

For me, it doesn't make a lot of sense that Starfleet's primary transwarp drive enabled starship is less able to transwarp around Federation space than a freighter. From what I can work out, these missing sectors were added to the game after the Excelsior was released, but the ship was never updated to include them. Since they added Tau Dewa, they should add the other missing Federation sectors as well. The ship can't transwarp to Omega Leonis either, but that one is more understandable.

I have purchased both ships, the cstore Excelsiors, and the shipyard still wants 5 modules for the fleet version. I have submitted multiple tickets, but get no response. Buyer beware.

When the ship was first introduced, it was part of a bundle. As was the other T3/T5 introduced ships. They were split and sold separate a few seasons ago. I purchased the bundle originally and lost access to my T3 version in the split. It upset a lot of people because we spent money and now were going to be charged if we wanted the T3 again.
Maybe someone can enlighten me as to why people would buy the 2.000-Zen C-Store Excelsior, rather than going that small step further and getting the 10-console Fleet version?

Two reasons, either they owned the T5 version before the Fleet version existed.

Second reason is if they plan on putting multiple toons in the Fleet version. Purchase the T5 version and get the discount price for all toons.
