Jeez Cryptic, now you are listening more to these PvP Boot Campers? This thing is WAY too OP, and needs an immediate balance pass.

:P
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

I was actually surprised when I looked at the registration for the PVP bootcamp and saw it at over 600 posts. Amazing response. :D
You think that your beta test was bad?

I guess the PvP community isn't as much of a minority as we were first led to believe. Or there are just a lot of people who want free re-spec tokens.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once. B)

Ahh those were the days and some good times. It was you, wrath and lemay against 4 of us? or were we all 5? all i remember was it was among our first time with captianjelle as our main healer, zed in his tacselsior, and me not deciding between a defiant or a partol escort, and tarsis our only sci. oh and chozo insisting on a fawscort when faw was broken. but i don't think all 5 of us were present at the time you speak of. Anyway that was some some fun stuff and great learning. I've always appreciated you and your fleet for that. and we've been good in-game buddies since then thanks to the hospitality you all showed.

but with this widly successful bootcamp coming up, it's making me think to re-install the game. i do miss some of my fleeties and the laughs they always give me, as well as some great people in opvp.

cheers and happy holidays to all

Frankly, I think the only sound advice that one can give new players at this time is to stay away from PVP in STO.

The reason there's such a healthy response is that people want some of that OP goodness for themselves. *L*

Seriously, I'm glad someone in the PvP community is taking time out to do this. It's been my observation that PvP'ers are seen in a negative light most of the time, and all it takes is one exploit, one OP'ed player, and one PvP'er talking smack and/or berating other players to create such a negative environment (remember, it takes 30 positive acts to negate a negative one).

Any chance a ground PvP version of this can be done? The grounders could really use some positive publicity.

I believe this actually has more to do with the fact people want to try new things. I'll bet quite a few of those people were intimated to get into PvP because they didn't know what they were doing, and thus got owned quickly.

I'm sure some want those re-spec tokens though :P

I could care less about the respect token or the Title accolade.... I look at it as a way to get BETTER at what I do... I'm not a New PVP player but I'm ALSO not a Great PVP player... so anything I can learn to help me be better at what I do with and for my team is a win win for me.
