Hi Captains,

Thanks for your patience as our teams worked to restore service to PWE websites, forums and portals -- the outage was due to technical difficulties. They are in the process of coming up now and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Welcome home! :)

Cheers,

Brandon =/\=

P.S. I'm blaming the Mayan calendar

Would this also account for my launcher not loading? Cant really run the game when that wont pop up.

I hope we won't all have to change our passwords because of this technical difficulty... :P

I was waiting for this. No, there was nothing TRIBBLE. The game was still up and running, it really was some technical difficulties with the hardware that host our sites :)

I heard you guys had a hamster stike on your hands over there, glad it was only the old hamsters powering the webservers.

Anyway, cool it's up again. :)

I thought this was gonna be the forum change you guys warned us about. Guess not.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

I do not think my launcher is working again, it still says it is not a valid Win32 game.

Thats good now i have a place to ask why i still cant connect to the patch server so my launcher will update...played the game at about 6:30 last night, and went back to play again at about 7:15 and the launch update message saying its cant update it showed up again, my nettest and tracert to the patch server look fine, and i enabled port forwarding on ports 80 and 7255, and still nothing. i sent in a ticket, but i'm pretty sure that i wont get a response (or solution) from that, it looks like i wont be getting my ship from the winter wonderland due this problem.

lesson to be learned.. do not let your trrples sit on top of the cooling fan inlet for your server stack..aspecially if thier using cream rinse on thier fur.. gums up the fan, sever over heats, and then you've got big tribble!

A couple of Leroy Jethro Gibbs rules pop into my head. Rules #3 Don't believe what you're told. Double check, Rules #8 Never take anything for granted

the outage was due to technical difficulties.

I would like a show of hands of people who thought it was something else other than a technical issue
Should I start posting again after all this time?

Glad to see things back up and running.

Unfortunately, I need a new "Star Trek Online.exe" as mine has somehow become corrupted (or something) yet again and the Cryptic Launcher Autoupdate continually fails. A few weeks ago when it happened you guys posted a new file. If anyone with a working copy wouldn't mind sharing I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thank you.

Also: Load up IE and clear the cache. Sometimes that helps.

I tried but still had no luck. Thanks though. :)

Branflakes (I think) posted a copy on the official site during the most recent problem and it worked perfectly. I just haven't had much luck tracking that thread down. Should have book marked it. :x

[Edit] Found the thread but it still didn't work.

That was posted back on the 5th. Worked like a charm for that patch but he hasn't posted a new one for this patch. Hopefully we'll get something soon.

can anybody PLEASE explain to me how to resolve the issue of a blank launcher/game client? i have to say I've tried everything i.e. setting IE as my default browser, adding the website and forums URLs to my AV and firewall exception lists, and making sure that Javascript enabled and Flash enabled/installed in my browser, as well as deleting cookies/caches in my browser.

I have found the PWE forums/tech team to be of NO use whatsoever, as they advise me to use the Options in the game client, along with the aforementioned possibilities. Could somebody please reply to this?

When I read the title, I thought it said "Website/ Forum Outrage - 12/21" and I was thinking "Hehe, Branflakes is smackin' down!". But it was just this.
I ask nothing but that you remember me.
