ok im calling this a borg bug, im a borg even doesnt matter what it is if it has a borg ship there is a 50/50 chance of this happening fly around shoot at borg front shield down, left was about 50% and health 85% and all of a sudden my ship blows up. i recorded it and looking back at the damage it did to me according to the game borg gateway deals 425613 (54666) kinetic damage. when i saw that i was like  i have a screenshot from the video but it says i cant post attachements eventho im 400+ days into the game. i dont know about anyone else but ive been blown up with 100 % health and shields. if u had any issues like this please share
As my friend likes to say, the Borg have "invisible super-torpedoes" \\
On a related note, in ISE only (maybe normal too, not sure) after you blow the second transformer (the right side) the sphere that appears above you must have Directed Energy Modulation XII or something. It nukes me through 100% shields in a second. The shields don't go down, they dont drop, they dont go offline. They are bypassed. Happened on multiple ships. It's the ONLY enemy in the STF that I've seen have this power >.<
That happens to me often. I'm sitting there pew-pew'ing and all of a sudden, without shields changing the slightest bit, my hull drops a lot. I'd find out what was doing that, but the combat log window is irritatingly difficult. It refuses to scroll, and when you final get it to, it does just that - scroll, scroll, scroll, etc. even though you're not moving it one bit or inputing new combat information. It's like the combat from other people is still going through but not showing up. Probably something they did to make it harder to pinpoint all of these ridiculous buffs to NPC's... like that unknown entity that keeps hitting me for >10k. I'd have never found it if it wasn't for dumb luck while fighting with the log to figure out what KO'd me.
Uber torpedoes have been around for quite a while now. No matter how much the admin say they're looking at the problem, it will never go away for good. Well, it mostly likely would if players absolutely couldn't complete anything due to it, but as long as there is even the slightest chance to still complete the mission they will not be removed. It might disappear for a month or so, but suddenly pop back up during a patch or season release. The proof? Check the patch history and check the admin posts pertaining to the torpedoes. Plasma DoT will be fixed before the torpedoes with this coming patch... and how much longer have the torpedoes been a problem as opposed to the plasma? I think the uber torps are just an EC sink due to all the repair items that have to either be farmed or be bought.
What really gets me is that there's absolutely no defense against 400k in damage. You can have maxed defense powers and the highest quality gear and that wouldn't even knock it down to a reasonable level. It's like... why bother? However, I did notice something odd. Some people can hold aggro for the longest time against things like the gateway and survive it (without being in the safe zone), and yet when I do I'm immediately smacked in the face with a lost shield facing and 25% of my hull gone... that's with TT, polarize hull, brace for impact, TSS, EPS, and two MK XI engineering consoles for kinetic (well, I usually don't have those all running right away, but I had to test it)... and that's not even an uber torpedo. There must be a modifier somewhere that separates some ships/players from others. Some people NEVER get hit with these ridiculously unfair attacks.
honestly, the damage is so random on the torpedoes. some times its hitting for a normal amount, say 10k, shields absorb some of the hit, life goes on. others its insta pop no matter whats going on. its like the damage range of the torpedo is something like 5k-100k.
If it was a high yield, sure, ok I can buy that. But a normal, unbuffed, not critical hit torpedo shouldn't hit for that much.

So do the dozens of threads talking about Borg one shot insta-kills not count as sharing?
