I've had a few people ask me some questions I will answer here.
Q: You seem to be focusing a lot on M.A.C.O.'s in Starfinder, why do you do this, and does it make the series "less Trek"?
A: Intentional. I served personally in the United States Army, and I feel that Enterprise did a good thing in introducing the closest thing to "Troops" Star trek has had in the franchise.
Gene Roddenberry wanted a Utopia view of the future. Obviously DS9 is popular for "defying" this view by it's creator, perhaps because sometimes a genius idea person cannot foresee all the possible angles his or her creation can stretch in the paradigm given to the viewers.
I believe there is "much" to explore from the point of view of a "Starfleet grunt". The soldiers of Starfleet are the centurions of Rome; they represent the warriors who do the dirty work that their Utopian Federation would rather not "recognize" as being a necessary evil in their body of ideals.
Not everyone on a Starship can be an officer, it's like having a kitchen full of cooks and not one dishwasher or bus boy. We have had a very bias view of the way Starfleet runs things on a ship, but there always has to be an underdog element that is both crucial and overlooked and often mis credited in any successful organization.
Q: Some parts of the STO official story lore is vague such as the status of the Fed/KDF war. How do you plan to address these issues?
A: Episode 3 in fact,. deals with the very question of what the hell is going on with the Fed/Kdf war/truce? How does it impact ships in the "outback" of Starfinder who run into one another?
I will be addressing the story issues Cryptic has left dangling, while not "assuming" any liberties that may turn out to be mistaken and create discontinuity issues. if that makes sense.
The first ten people to reply to this thread forward, I will have your ship's names mentioned in the pilot of Starfinder. I will have the background comm in DS9 in the beginning edit in naming off your ships.
The only stipulation? It can't be a "silly" ship name like "Enterprize" or "Pwned" etc lol.

How do you pronounce it? "El E vay gar", "El eye vah grr". or what? :P
Closest I can get to explaining it would be "Ehl-E-Vah-GRR", with a hard G as in Gorn, and pronounced as one flowing word. Better yet, Eli as in "Elite", Va as in "vat" and GR as in this dog may bite--or "ground". Accents on the consonants. Rhymes with helicoptr.

Is it too late for this? xD
Would my U.S.S. Trovane name do?
Considering Doctor Who is my first obsession? Done. You may appreciate episode 2 btw, a Captain "William Hartnell" named after the first actor to play the Doctor, starts a recurring guest star in a Wells class future Starfinder.
Actually, I've never watched Dr. Who (Past ep 1). Silurian is a reference to an old character that a friend of mine use to play that was named after the geological time period that they were studying in college

Thanks for the comments, and yes, guest/small roles will always be popping up.
Send me an email at gk@gamingradio.net and I will file you as a contact for "future role options" and when a role is needed, I will contact people and we can see who would fit for what roles etc.
Currently the series pilot is halfway done script wise and pre production wise, I have a series bible and a synopsis (more detailed than the public doc shows) that the cast and crew have access to.:D
The goal is to have season one ready to begin airing by christmas 2012, having blocks of 2-3 eps done ahead of airing and 10-12 eps total per 'season" in hour long formats.
Question... I'm interested in the idea of voicing a guest/small role, but I was wondering about the logistics of audio productions... Does someone need to live near your production studio in order to voice a part? And if not, how do you deal with audio quality with a "remote performance"?
My views may not represent those of Cryptic Studios or Perfect World Entertainment. You can file a "forums and website" support ticket here Link: How to PM - Twitter @STOMod_Bluegeek
Everyone has worked remote. Some group recordings have been done for scenes in teamspeak with it's record function, others edited separate in audacity.
I was very busy and should have elaborated more so here we go.
My audio engineer/co-producer, Steven Trent, is an extremely experienced editor for these endeavours. I am fortunate due to my association with Sub-space radio, to have volunteers who know their craft and I hope the passion shows.
Starfinder is what I see as "a child of the Foundry". It was inspired by the concept of sharing stories and original adventures in a background we all love. I am doing this for the entire community and myself, it's my way of "giving back" for the great work Cryptic and the Devs have done in allowing people like myself the ability to express my creative side inside the game with the Foundry, and take it to new realms of possibility.
This is Vice Admiral Yuung of the Federation Fleet Heavy Escort Carrier Esclarent. My apologies for being so royally late, I had a run-in with the Ferengi (read: Cryptic) and got locked out of my account for almost a week.
The flagship's name comes from Arthurian legend. Alternatively known as the Sword in Stone, and the Sword of Peace, the Esclarent represented both Arthur's right to rule and the peace that England enjoyed during that golden age.
The irony of that, is that Mordred later stole that sword and killed Arthur with it. A subtle reference to Escort Group Esclarent being closely affiliated with Section 31.
But if you think we spend our days in smoky backrooms plotting and scheming, well, we're actually not that different from any Starfleet officer. We wear the same uniform, trust in diplomacy first, seek out new civilizations, and boldly go where no one has gone before.
Only idiots parade around in that black outfit, just as only idiots believe that ideals are absolute.
All hailing frequencies are open. If you need a veteran carrier escort group, we're keen to help.

Chooch, I sent you a PM with some information, not sure if you had noticed it yet. Just wanted to give you a heads up in a more easily accessible place.

Sorry I have not been replying been swamped with sudden explosions of activity on Facebook every since Star Trek Online announced our series on Facebook!
I have been neglectful of this thread due to enormous and unexpected support after Star Trek Online itself supported and announced us!
First, we have a dedicated web master now who came forward and wowed us with his portfolio; he is nerly done making a KICKBUTT really snazzy interactive website so
Coming soon is ussstarfinder.com and ussstarfinder.net.
We have an IRC channel which will also be accessible from in the website.
You can also join us in chat by typing /channel_join Starfinder in STO or joining #Starfinder with your IRC client using irc.coldfront.net as the server
Offers for podcast interviews and other support have poured in so much, it is a bit surreal. But now I have a dedicated growing staff inside Starfinder production that is giving us the foundation to offer the best overall experience and entertainment we can give.
Thank you for the feedback comments, and views, and be sure to stay tuned.
Oh an update about the ship name promises. After going through the script for the pilot and doctoring select dialogues to include mention of the ships. it worked within the dialogue of certain scenes to mention some ships in this thread; That being said it was agreed it would be far too "tacked on and forced" to mention "all of them" in one episode.
I promise ALL ships I said would get the shout outs WILL get them, over a span of a few episodes.
There is a ship's lounge scene where my own character, Sergeant Byrnes, makes reference to a few of the ships based on the context of a conversation. Stay tuned, and thanks again!
