Just as a Galor owner can purchase extra Spiral Wave disruptors to fill out their ship's weapon slots with extra Spiral Waves beyond the 4 that come with the ship I think it would be great to have a similar unlock attached to the Vesta to allow rear weapons that would synergize with the fore Aux DHCs.
I don't think he's asking for them for free or anything, just for turrets that draw of Aux power instead of Weapons power, so as to match up to the Vesta's Aux DHCs.
If you get that then there will be people who will be asking for turrets that draw from weapons/engines to go with the quad cannons. I doubt they would add aux powered turrets as the Galor is a lockbox ship and is more of a unique thing to own, and onwing spiral wave disruptors (and having the ability to buy more) would be one of the bonuses for owning a galor.
Huh, well sure add them, but be sure to add spinal wave cannons as well !
"Cryptic Studio’s Jack Emmert (2010): Microtransactions are the biggest bunch of nonsense. I like paying one fee and not worrying about it – like my cellphone. The world’s biggest MMO isn’t item based, even though the black market item GDP is bigger than Russia … microtransactions make me want to die.”
Actually is not a bad idea to add AUX based weapons (beams and turrets, not DHC, Vesta or any other future payable ships will be of course excluded from this), BUT for certain ships (science oriented cruisers and science ships) and limited number, up to 4 per character to be exact.
As for the argument fly an escort for DPS or want to do DPS then weapon power should be high, there is the counter that if you fly an escort the first thing you do for the power levels is the following, shield and aux to min, weapons to max and the reaming to eng. Thats the secret. Ok, you may have an alt to change to heal and shield that most players use when they break from a fight.
The devs created very good escorts, now it is time to create some science and cruisers equivalents. Escort captain will complain, but eng and science captains that fly an escort will switch to their character default ship. In my sci I want to fly a science vessel and have the ability to destroy an escort if I have a superior build.
...if you want to fly a Escort with all DHCs and turrets please do...
Maybe you should stop crying over spilled milk.
The Aux DHCs are already in game and the vesta can run all standard DHCs & Turrets while popping a battery before using sci powers with no weapons fire draining away aux power.
The Vesta is a predominately science ship that has some capability for self defense. It is NOT an escort with boosted shields.
LOL... Says you. The Devs said it was pretty much all sorts of ships in one and quite honestly I can dish out nearly as much DPS and far MORE Spike damage with mine than most any Escort could DREAM of accomplishing while still having much greater heals. It does suffer from a lack of Hull which with the Borg Super Torps right now is painful but aside from that it is an awesome ship.
However, the Aux cannons are currently a waste of time. Yes, they have nice stats but if you want to take advantage of beams or rear guns then you need to have those work on Aux as well. Just using a few Aux weapons and a few normal ones is a Stupid mix. Loading your aft with all mines and torps is even more foolish.

Can I ask you what you are using for weapons? Just curious.
I personally can't find a set up that I'm satisfied with, so I could use some of your wisdom.
Actually I change my view on this. Let the people waste dilithium on Aux turrets. You can waste more energy having Aux for weapons power therefore losing out on Aux power based heals.
dont see why not. remember if the ship's weapon power drops to 0, all weapons stop working, so people would still put some points into weapon power just to make sure energy syphons dont take all their weapon power.

The last patch changed that...
Vesta Quantum Field Focus Phaser and Aux Cannon can no longer be brought down when weapons go offline.
These weapons will still go down when Auxiliary does offline.
I also want consoles to get similar treatment and slots on our ships for specific types of consoles for specific abilities such as tractor beam console so that every ship can have a tractor beam but its ability depends on the console which could range and differ a lot. They could probably come up with 50 variations of tractor beams based on all species and so everyone has a tractor beam but as per usual our builds vary.
It's similar to the weapons idea in that it's taking what we already have and just pushing it to be that bit more.
Defo ideas that could make level 60 very interesting.

There's a fair number of consoles that do basically give a DOff power. For your tractor beam example, the NX class replica (Archer's Enterprise) comes with a Grappler console that works as a tractor beam. The Vent Theta console (available Fed side via a cross-console pack that was in a lockbox) is basically Eject Warp Plasma.
I don't quite see how it's an extension of this thread's point of Aux turrets, however.
"sighs" Give some feds a inch and they want a mile...
Give some KDF players even the remotest hint that there is a chance for them to display their ever present sad-princess tears and they will.
FWIW, to other posters, I have 3 L50 KDF Characters in 2x MK XII STF sets (omega and KHG), 2 more at L30 - at least 6 KDF Cstore ships and the Fleet Vor'cha.
So this thread, when I started it, had nothing to do with Fed vs. KDF.

You are correct, it has nothing to do with fed vs kdf but I never said it did. It has to do with feds wanting even more crazy power after being handed a ship like the vesta. Why should any ships be able to ignore weapon power without any real negative affects? Why should you be able to ignore weapon power and still have all of the power of a full set of energy weapons?
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power

Could it be that Science power damage is nerfed into near oblivion due to "unintended" tactical captain power combination effects?
Could it be that Science ships already only have a 3/3 Admiral level loadout?
Could it be that the game is a DPS race and Science Ship Captains, already down the above two points, are looking for a sliver of extra DPS to keep up?
Could it be that Sci's are just looking for the same "set and forget" power configurations that escorts and cruisers enjoy - all the tactical abilities "benefit" from high weapons power, while sciences need to switch from weapons to aux in order to boost their powers to "effective" levels (or run gimped DPS from the get-go)...
I heard someone ask about fully aux-loaded Vesta, GW III, CSV I & Aux battery. How is this different than MVAE, Pile of Tactical Buffs (APA, APB, FOMM, GDF, CSV III, EPtW, TT, etc.) GW I, and Aux battery? Other than the fact that it's not an escort putting out the volume of fire/damage, and even then the Tac in MVAE will do more than Sci in Vesta...
Look. I'd much rather be able to pick my aux DHC type (why am I stuck with phaser-proc to get this aux-benefit, when I'd much rather have Polaron proc) than have an aux turret. Also, I will admit that I love the Vesta in a Tholian action, I can let their disruption torps bounce off my shields, and retain some firepower/movement with my aux DHCs & an [aux] modded impulse engine. However, the inverse is also somewhat true, if I get hit by, say, target subsystems: Aux, I currently retain the full use of my non-aux tail weapons, but running a fully aux-based loadout means that aux damage will affect my entire ship and TSS:Aux will practically cripple me if I don't have a restoration method available.
In light of the "frequent" science complaints, and the soon-to-be-released "escort cruiser" (aka Breen Winter Event Ship), it seems that the quiet goal of STO's balance department is to make everyone escorts rather than enhance the abilities of the other classes as capable as escorts "in their own way". If this is the case, then why not make the Vesta 100% an aux-escort, instead of this half-arsed aux-front weapons-tail that we have now?
As the OP said, just as spiral waves are only unlocked for Galor owners, these aux-turrets would only be unlocked for Vesta owners. Thusly mitigating the fear that these aux-weapons will proliferate outside the "P2W group" that drops $20 on a Vesta-variant...
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

I may have misunderstood you post but you can get turrets in the Dilthium Npcs.

LTS, here since...when did this game launch again?
You do understand that the more weapons that you have that draw from aux the more your aux power will drop while firing them correct?
Its a design drawback to make the ship at least somewhat balanced, taking it away will make the ship massively op.
And you always can stick mines and torpedoes after, they work fine with just 1 in weapon power already.

KDF Eng: Boreas I.K.S. Demonon Nemesis {Fleet: HoS}
Rom Sci: Crius I.R.W. Noctem Aeternus {Fleet: LoS}
Fed Tac: Kronos U.S.S. Xibalba, I.S.S. Theogonia{Fleet: HSF}
...fixed...
You missed the point.
3 DHCs & 3 Turrets with CRF or CSV means very large, and unreliable dips on all of the active use sci powers available.
Not even a battery will mitigate this.
Maybe you should stop crying over spilled milk.

Hell, the current Vesta already is too good. (yes, I have it)

I'm ignoring it right now using mines that are several magnitudes more powerful than a turret could ever hope to be.
In fact adding Aux Turrets would eat into the Aux power I'm running under CRF more than the set up I have now.
