Please deal with the trollers...

thomasrumthomasrum Member Posts: 15 Arc User
The trolling in STO is getting just a tad too difficult to ignore, please for the love god, deal with the trollers.... I've had enough of walking into places like Drozana and having trollers follow me around harass me constantly, this has to stop.
I'm just getting far too sick of these people that take it upon themselves to make others miserable just for "yucks."
Those that have banning power and compassion for those that just want to enjoy the game, please for the love of god, ban the trollers for good!!!

I must really be quite unique...

Nobody ever follows me around to annoy me.

Perhaps I don't give off the right kinda vibes or maybe it's because I pretty much ignore all the other players in the game anyway.

    Oh well...

why would you hang around in Dorzana? DS9 is a good social place, and so is your homeworld.

They're called trolls, not "trollers". I'm also pretty sure they do it for the lulz, not "for the yucks".

The simple fact is, every game will have its undesirables. You have 2 ways to deal with them.

    You can ignore them.
You can let them get to you so much you post on the forums, for them to be amused by your crying/whining/whatever.

    Guess which group you're in.

Exactly. Hanging around Drozana station is like hanging out in the back alleys of some seedy neighborhood.

Trollers (people who Troll) is equally correct

Zone chat is the main chat channel (others include local , team , fleet etc)

Drozana is a vital part of Several missions unfortunately and a major hub for some smaller fleets.

Its also a neutral spot where people from different factions can meet each other and there aren't many of those accessable to Active level players (as in the majority who do not have "diplomatic immunity")

Some people exist purely to mess with the real players these people are no different from those who abuse people on twitter or who hang out in the streets and mug old ladies

The day I determined Zone Chat was best to be avoided: Launch day, on ESD, with scintillating questions like the kind found in this unforgettable exchange between two players:

Player 1: aaaag where is esd??
Player 2: You're in it, Copernicus.

If someone following you around inspires a nerdrage forum post...Maybe internet gaming isn't for you.

I'd hate to see your reaction to actual griefing.

The scum of the universe have to hang around somewhere. I usually dance with the table ladies a few seconds then get about my business. Never noticed followers. I'll have to take my female Captains there more often, if I designed them correctly, then harassment will be taken as a compliment :D

Whenever you go to a major hub of activity, it's probably best to just ignore zonechat. If someone's trolling directly via PM's, ignore them. If they're blasting you with crygenic gas or firefighting gas or w/e, ignore them and go about your business as quickly as possible.

All this talk of "ignor them" ... is posted by people who don't know what there talking about. You are standing there at drozana and some troll starts flaming throwing smoke in your face or get right into your space and starts doing jumping jacks .... the game is visual it is not a texting game .... therefore you can't ignor them. Stop saying ignor them .... Next i see posts that suggest Drozana is some sort of seedy back alley place ... wrong again .. Drozana is the center hub of the Dividian story arc everyone goes through Drozana. Drozana is the site for the Ferengi store .... everyone needs to go to Drozana to shop. The op'ed is right Devs need to do something about these useless fun stealing trolls. Don't get me wrong, these trolls did rid Drozana of equally undesirable cyber cex'ing role players but beyond that leave innocent players alone and those who post "ignor them" are the very trolls who troll. Go back to Eve online trolls

What ferengi store? The lobi store? You can just double click the lobi in your inventory and open the store. Plus you make it sound like it's the daily stop at the grocery store... who cares. And seriously who plays the Devidian arc anymore.... and who does it more than once a character. I wouldn't do it for the gear I'd tell you that much.

Other than doing the Devidian arch once or twice, there is absolutely no reason to go to Drozana unless you are an RP'er who takes things way way way too seriously. I sign on to STO to relax and have fun, not to further your RP experience.

Where the music stinks, and they water the drinks, the Drozana station.

Where the "girls" dance in their underpants, the Drozana station.

Where you see their butt, and their trap stays shut, at the Drozana station.

Where you can't touch a breast, but you can cave in a chest, at the Drozana station.

Where you look at a thigh, and blacken an eye, at the Drozana station.

Where the beer gives you gas, but the plox kick TRIBBLE, at the Drozana station.

But realy the trolls are not problem there , only role-players that abuse local chat( tell me how can little guy without 20 hours gameplay ask for help in middle of your conversations)

What I would like to know is if there is a way to get rid of the 'leeches' .Those that join an elite STF or a No Win Scenario and just sit there for the entire thing and despite being asked, refuse to move/respond yet the second its over, they zoom off.

We need a team vote/kick or leader kick option. Is there one? or one that isn't working? So far the only thing i've been doing is take down the character@name and fleet information in notepad.

Going to Drozana is like going to a biker bar, if you walk in with a chip on your shoulder you can bet someone is going to knock it off.
I've been in the place dozens of times and I just don't get what the big deal is, it's exactly the same as any rowdy bar I've ever been to, if you are doing something, once you open a window it's not like they can really interfere, and if you're just standing around, well the words "sucker for punishment" comes to mind.
It's a beat up station that's ready to fall apart, run by a Ferenghi that doesn't care about anything but profit, the clientele are fitting match for the place.
If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.
    Oh Hell NO to ARC

    Simple solution:

Go to tailor and create a getaway costume. Don't change into it yet, though. Ok, now beam up to your ship. Once there, change into your new costume (ideally, you'll want a different head shape, new uniform, and different colors). Wait at least a minute. Now, go back out to space view. Then, fly around the station a few times. Ok, you should be ok now. Go ahead and beam down to the station, but do it cautiously (a sudden beam in could arouse suspicion). Once you beam in and go out into the main corridor, survey your surroundings but do it as if you're looking to meet somebody or are looking for tailors. If the perpetrator is gone, you should be safe. However, if you do happen to see your perpetrator, immediately activate the shard of possibilites and subsequently activate emergency beam out. You're holographic replicas should be able to fool them long enough for you to make your escape. Home free!
