Want to swim in Dilthium? Roll a few KDF toons!

Seriously all this dilthium nerf complaints is just a Fed side concern - if you want more dilthium and free EC roll KDF alts

Who do you think keeps the exchange flooded with contraband - the Feds with like 2 per toon per day? No roll a KDF and with a good doff crew pull in 50+ per day

then there are so many dailies that you can max out a toon in an 1 1/2 tops - at least 4 can overlap

And you get so many prisoners from the contraband missions you turn those in for dilthium too

And you get several hundred thousand EC from selling or recycling the loot generated as well

and on and on - KDF players are swimming in Zen/ec/dilthium - the real problem is there is not enough good stuff to spend it on.

Any KDF player who denies this is A)incompetent or B)scared that Cryptic will hit them with the nerf bat

So don't just sit here on the forums and complain about it - start up several KDF alts and let the contraband flow baby!!

    Given their track record for doing things KDF-side, I'm not convinced Cryptic will care. :rolleyes:

    If we're gonna attribute Cryptic to being very cryptic and sneaky, then one would quickly begin to form the conspiracy theory that this "missed dilithium rush" is acually their "plan" to build the KDF playerbase to a percentage that "justifies" creating additional KDF content. Yeah, if a ton of Feds swing to KDF alts for "quick" dilithium, the 16% will "obviously" go up - and if it goes up to, say, 30% (from farmers), they pull the "look, we have players in KDF", build just enough KDF content to placate the KDF die-hards, then nerf the dilithium to Fed-like cheezy levels...
    Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

    If there's anything in-game that allows players to amass Dilithium without too much effort, you can bet your TRIBBLE they'll care...
    But for now, there's something there's the KDF can do that the Fed's can point-blank say they're not good at ;)

    There's the current situation to consider too. And assuming what's next is not gonna help anything, quite the opposite.
    Was named Trek17.

    Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.

    The dilithium nerfs are not at the top of my list for fixing, it is the rep system with its associated time gates. But it is third on my list for changes after fixing the doff system extortion prices.

    Unless they want to kill the KDF off I think they will leave it as-is for now - the KDF pop is too small at current for them to be worrying that KDF players are maxing multiple alts in short order.

    Now "IF" the amount of KDF alts was to double or triple then maybe - but for now it the only guareenteed easy way to amase dilthium in game.

    Just 1 good alt could supply your Fed toons with enough contraband to run it 2x per day - as long as you don't have more than 3 or 4 toons:P

    I don't seem them changing it tbh. There were other legitimate reasons they removed the Feds dilithium faucets they did; mostly them being broken or of poor design. The Klingons dilithium missions don't suffer from those problems,

    It's also worth noting the KDF only has one fleet action compared to the Feds three. I've actually been using a fed alt to grind dilithium/drops while my Klingons fleet action is on cooldown. It's honestly a more efficient use of my dilithium grinding time, since I can make tons of EC in the process,

    They already did kind of nerf the usefulness of Contraband. You used to find it far, far easier and could earn a ton of dil quickly. Both of those DOFF assignments seem significantly less common then they used to be.

    Also it makes sense KDF finds more Contraband and Prisoners anyway.

    there is a BIG difference from 2 contraband on the Fed side per day to 50 on the KDF - lol

    Collecting contraband on Fed side is a joke - rolling a KDF toon is the only good use of your time as far as farming goes. Not only do you get Prisoners to turn in for dilthium - you get Torps,engines,ship weapons, enough commodities to fund your starbase projects - you need to have lots and lots of bank space - sometimes I can't complete some of the assignments until Ican off-load all the stuff and prisoners.

    Because the KDF actually believe in all that stuff - which is to say stealing, looting, prisoner taking, etc.

    It's not really something the Federation does. The Federation just gets a ton more everything else, and it's not like commodities are that expensive. And also, Fleet projects are geared towards 25+ people helping build them.

    Federation side you can get at least 11 contraband a day:

    - Confiscate contraband from crew (up to 3 on crit)
    - Strike against fugitive support network (5 on crit)
    - Trade latinum for contraband (3 on crit)

    Of course, KDF gets those, as well as many others.

    so in this thread we learn that you have to check your pc every 4 hours for 4 times per day =16 hours of stress.When you sleep or leave house is beyond this thread;s problem :rolleyes:

    and here i thought this would be a list of what the KDF COULD do to get contraband more...instead its a flame war, well thats what i looks like.

    No, if you're extraordinarily lucky you might get 11 from those assignments on ONE day. You're not going to get 11 a day with those assignments.

    I was not even including that - I was just talking about Marauding missions - like the 45min strike missions, the 2 hour taking the frieghters and the 8 hour strike at base missions

    Those are where you get the bulk of Contraband,equipment,prisoners, and commodies

    But any KDFer worth his weight will be able to hit the 8k cap in just over 1 hour of play just doing the dailies

    So that leaves the contraband for you to sell or transfer to all you Fed alts

    With the Massive superiourity of Dilthium and EC farming anyone is just stupid to not roll a couple KDF toons

    To be fair, you can reach the 8k cap in about an hour on the Fed side too - run three Fleet Action dailies for about 6k, the SFA lore for 500 and turn in contraband. If you're also running all the science and exploration assignments you should be able to buy enough contraband from the particle traces you sell on the exchange.

    Wait what? Who hate me for giving players the knowledge of what they can do to overcome some of the dilthium concerns - KDF players? This is silly unless they are worried about a nerf?

    But I don't think that is likely - it's been this way for a long time - it's just worth it more to roll a KDF toon now.

    And no I don't want it nerfed - I get most of my stuff from maxing out my KDF doff missions.

    My thoughts exactly. Every exploit that gets discussed on the OFFICIAL GAME FORUMS gets nerfed.

    Kit swapping, shield-switching, most of the dilth-sources fed-side... others that I've forgotten.


    OP: I Don't understand why you would even consider mentioning this here, at all! we can expect a nerf within three patch cycles now.

    It should be clear that by 'at least' I mean at least 11 that I know of. The least you can get is 0.

    Obviously, the two you mentioned Fed characters get aren't from marauding, either.

    I'm sure Cryptic realizes a large amount of contraband is obtained through marauding assignments. That's most likely why they upped the requirements for the 'Turn in contraband' assignment.

    Except for maybe a few over-lapping KDF dailies - just what exploits am I mentioning??

    This post is mostly about Doffing the KDF side - which was designed to reward this stuf - how can you call it an exploit?

    Anyways I will load up my 3 KDF toons tonight with 20 missions each and post exactly what i get here tomorrow.

    How long will it take before the whiners start crying about it to PWE? "Its not fair... they make more dilithium than I do whaaaa whaaaa...."

    My guess is not too long, in the meantime I love wasting a Sunday on my KDF alts hauling in 60K+ worth of refined dilithium.

    huh it takes alot more than 3 Fleet actions to get 6k dilth, unless im missing something here....FAs only reward 480 dilth now. but the rest are still fine :D
