You could create multiple toons and play that mission where you are given free lockbox and TRIBBLE key, move the lobi to your main, delete the toons and repeat.
I have everything that I want from the Lobi Store on my toon that has 96 Lobi Crystals, however I do want some Lobi items for my other toons. If I could transfer the Lobi to one of those toons I would be more inclined to open more boxes since I would already have a head start. As it stands, it's just not really worth it for me to start from scratch to build of the Lobi for another toon.

Easily fixed by removing the mission altogether.
I agree, there really is no need for lobi crystals to be per character. The mission itself is a joke and akin to promoting the lobi store only. They should remove that so called exploitable mission.
The mission is pointless anyway, something that can be easily removed.
Isn't the stuff from the lobi "store" packed in crates and therefore transferable?
I did this only yesterday when i decided that i no longer wanted my lv 50 toon, i bought a Klingon Chariot pet and was able to mail (unpacked) that one to my new character!

Some is, some isn't. Clothes, ships, and maybe a few other things are in packs; consoles, weapons, etc are not.

Maybe they view that as an exploit as well - think about it, I have tons of crystals, I buy the stuff, sell it on the exchange for EC, whalla - I just prevented an indivdiual from actually spending money on keys for boxes, for lobi.
Though that too is flawed since most buy ships via EC.
The free lobi mission is good from Accounting's perspective since it introduces players to a way they might be persuaded to spend money on the game. Instead of removing it entirely, a better alternative is to simply make it give a character bound lobi while normal lobi gotten from opening other boxes is not character bound.
I have heard that some missions have a "hidden" stash 'o said crystals, i have had no luck (yet) finding out where though!
Yes, but only when cryptic turns the event on.

I think Lobi could work as Account Bound, as maybe you got a few shy on one character and have some on another that isn't anywhere near enough to get something other than a consumable. I'm kinda in that boat.
so you have to spend cash on the character where you need a KDF skirt for 150 lobis and cannot use the 12, 25 or 4 lobis you have on an alt, where you have opened a few lockboxes 5 months ago..

Pretty much, except its for a 50 Lobi weapon for a Fed, and I got 40 something on that character..

Well beyond a marketing decision to push us to open more lockboxes?
The sole purpose of making us spend more money. If we want some of the lobi items for each toon, but that item is BTC on aquire, then we have to shell out the money to open the lottery scheme boxes on each character until we have obtained enough lobi on each character. They are no longer about making money for the company through means that are fun for the players. It is now cut throat suck you dry tactics.

Honestly I already knew this was true when I asked the question. It's the same reason most of the stuff purchased with the crystals is bind on acquire.
They could just make the intro lobi a different item or throw it away entirely.
Obviously it's about being lazy, "priorities", and having you wasting resources.
Same reason any good item is character bound. It would be a huge shame to miss out on the extra grinding if you suddenly started shipping over old stf gear.
I just pray they never release a locbox ship I like, knock on wood !

No there isn't. Anybody who tells you something else lies.

Ah that explains it, thank you!

They are known as the now mythical FE replay missions - I am still waiting for the replays, I need some FE end game exclusive items.

Totally agree with this
