I've been getting into the Doff missions a whole lot on my main lately and have been steadily increasing the amount of Doffs I have at my command.
I'm currently sitting on 151 blue and purple Doffs and find it incredibly easy to reach the 20 mission limit. As it stands I have no need to purchase the next two 100 Doff roster slots since there's really nothing I'll be able to actually do with these Doffs.
With that in mind I'd love to see the addition of Doff assignment slots in the store. They could be sold in sets of 5 or 10, up to a max of anywhere between 40 to 60 or so. I wouldn't blink at something around $10 to $20 for those.
It would not only be something I'd be willing to purchase, but it would also entice me to purchase the rest of the Doff roster slots.

Another Zen or Crystal Lobi pay2win option? Let's hope devs won't see this...
I wouldn't want to increase a number of ongoing assignments, but new assignments, if possible chains without silly rare/very rare cooldowns for the next step, that would involve more than 5 DoFFs would be nice.

What exactly is there to "win" at in Doff assignments? Last I checked I didn't see any PvP Doff assignments.
To answer your first question, most assuredly yes. Even you went on to attempt to equate it with PvP in your own post.
EC can be gained many other ways than the Doff system, outside of doffing i've been able to earn a couple hundred million EC and I don't even come close to what others have made just playing the exchange game.
More dilithium and therefore zen? It's locked at 8k a day no matter how much you can earn, I didn't ask for that to be increased.
As for what I'll do with it? Use it how I play, which would be reinvesting it into the Doff system since that's really the only part of STO that to me feels like the work of a starship captain. I have no interest at all in STO's or any other MMOG's PvP, I get that fix in other things where it's done better.
I think it's fine as it is... sure I like some more slots but I think the progression would be to fast.. this is a game that you should play for a long time and if you don't have a goal... the fun stops, as my main char: 250 purple doffs and only Trade to reach level 4, the only thing I do with my main is going around doing console missions , officer exchange and things like that...NO FUN
Just look at the fast progression of leveling up to 50, Took me 7 days to reach 50.
In my opinion that is just totally FUBAR. And what's even worse is that they haven't done anything about it.
So don't have such a rush to progress, TRY to enjoy the game as long as you can...

I've been enjoying STO since closed beta, rushing isn't my concern.
Doffing has been the single most "starship captain" thing for me in this game, for the first time in two years of STO I actually feel like i'm doing the same stuff Picard did. It has single handedly reinvigorated my enjoyment of the game.
I want to be able to expand that one thing in this game that maintains my interest, I want to be able to make proper use of the 400 slots they allow me to purchase (but that I have zero need for as it stands) I want to enjoy this game more and I'm willing to pay for that as I have been for many things with STO in the past.
You do when you sell zstore doffs, keys and lockbox/lobi items on the exchange.
Honestly I find your concern about P2W for assignment slots difficult to understand. P2W is something that gets hotly debated whenever a new pay ship (zstore or lockbox) gets introduced. Those are the big P2W issues and they're always directly involved with PvP. I don't see how I enjoy playing my more solo game is somehow negatively affecting how you like to play yours, it seems downright spiteful.

Look, by more DoFF assignments you grab:
- more EC or stuff to sell for millions of EC
- more dil... um... more Zen
What will you do with it? Trash it? Or use to get pvp items?
