I cannot get past the "Accessing the Secure Personnel Files" window. I'm on Chrome.
I'm on chrome and can get in. I did notice that once you pick a character, you can't use the back browser button to get back to character selection. Return to Main Screen brings you back to main character screen. You have to log out, and log back in, in order to choose another character.
When I tried back browser button, I got stuck on the "accessing " screen. Holding down the ctrl key while refreshing brought me back to the login screen. Maybe that will help in your case?

And a day later it's *still* offline. If this level of service is in any way indicative of what we can expect from Season 7, then this game is in big trouble.
It's actually *NOT* offline. However, the "Offline for Maintenance" message seems to be a default error message. I get it any time I use the back key in my browser instead of the button in the web app UI, however I can always log back on. So I guess don't use the browser commands to navigate back and forth in Gateway, just use the buttons in the app interface.
I'm on chrome on a really crappy computer until my normal one gets fixed and I was able to get in. The only thing I really see it being good for is scrolling up and down going oooh ahh over your accolades lol.
If I could doff easier with it then I think it would be worth useing
Please, no offense intended at all, just a thought - you DO have a character copied to Tribble, right?
Having lots of experience with cryptic Cryptic error messages, it occurs to me that they may have a standard 'under maintenance' redirect if something doesn't work right. Say, for example, there is no character to access, so instead of 'no characters found' it just hangs or says 'down for maintenance'?

I can't even get to the login screen...on Lynx 2.8.3
Haven't had an issue on Chrome Dev Channel though.

Wait, wha?! Character copied to tribble?! Um, no; I sorta didn't do that. Didn't even know that was possible, or necessary even.

Yes, I have 3 characters copied to tribble and did the latest patch on tribble this morning, but I still cannot get into the gateway.
Well, darn. I had three existing character copies, copied another one over, and could immediately access all of them, using Chrome on a PC.
The only other thing I can think of is it did ask me to enter the security code sent to the email address associated with my account before I could get into the gateway the first time.
If you've done that as well, and you have characters on Tribble, I have exhausted my troubleshooting allocation for the day. lol I hope you have better luck, or someone else has an idea for you to try. That's what beta testing is all about, I guess. The more details you can give wherever they're taking bug reports for it, the better.

Speaking of which, what's with it not supporting IE8? IE9 has much worse performance than IE8, not to mention Microsoft's typical turning the UI upside down as with every other thing they make these days (all applications since Vista came out have had their UI torn apart and rebuilt from the ground up every generation)
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.
cannot proceed past account verification on my smartphone (iphone) web browser or other browser apps.
- can't scroll down to the on-screen confirmation button after inputting verification code.
- pressing "go" on the browser keyboard will not proceed past the verifcation.
- cannot zoom out the prompt to make the verify button visible.
I'm trying to understand what purpose this sto gateway is suppossed to be for... Is it so while you are away from home that you can see your character is still the same way you left it before you left your home?
I'm just thinking it was a waste of resources just like shooter mode and vivox chat were in season 4.

Hey, I -use- shooter mode despite the bugs. It lets me focus more on what ability I want to trigger, no worrying about whether I targeted something before entering combat.

I love the new Gateway App, but I would love to see a few features added such as Doff Management, Access to Ingame mail and possibly a Native App for IOS and Android. However I have found a bug that says Cannot Post 404 / Not Found on my Android Device when logging in, posted link to screen shot below as I cannot upload the pic here
looks really good in my pc, using firefox and chrome.
But in android mobile browsers, I see some problems.
In my sansung galaxy 3 and in my generic tablet Genesis GT 7200, I find:
1 - Every bridge officer and the character are always smiling o.O
2 - You can't have the option to see your toon or your bridge officer fully, only a picture of the face. No problem with this, but if you are using the mobile version, someone want to show to your friends your uniforms fully, not only faces.
3 - You can't change ships. You only see the first one in your ship slots.
4 - You see no signal about your fleet. No fleet emblem or fleet name.
No issue, that I can see on my Android. I dont have to scroll on the Log-in screen, though, since my display is big enough to include the submit button.
The Gateway overrides my settings to display desktop version and only gives me the Mobile one.
I would prefer, if I could decide that myself.
And yes, before any gameplay functions come in, add our friends and fleet list and allow us to share selected information up to making the whole character profile public.
I was able to make it work on my iPad without any problem, and was able to access the site via Firefox. However, IE9 is not able to get past the verification window; the window does not allow me to enter data. Obviously a compatibility issue.

Do you have the latest updates in? HTML5 should prove fine in IE9 and I'm pretty sure IE9 supports HTML5 fully if updated...I'll check on my Windows machine when I boot it up next.

Kinda have to agree. So, I can log in, have a look at my boffs, see they're still looking pretty as ever, and... yeah, what exactly? LOL.
I was sorta hoping we could set doff-missions from there. Likely never going to happen, though. In EVE Online, for example, CCP even openly said they will never let you queue your skills remotely, as it would prevent people from actually playing the game (the "If you have em in your store, they're likely to buy something" rationale). I suspect it will be no different for STO.
We can hope, though. After all, it's still in Beta.
