Lead Content Designer Scott "Goatshark" Shicoff shares details about the eighth Starbase Featured Project in this entry of the Season 6 News Dev Blog series.
Buuuuut... where does all the bloodwine come from?
Or who cleans the fish tanks?
Or when will Season 7 finally come?
Or... or... or... why doesn't nothing work out for me these days?
Thanks to 25th century knowledge of biology and ecology, the Fish Tank is a completely self sustaining ecosystem. There are critters and organism in there that clean the fish tank (by feeding on what needs to be cleaned).
The Bloodwine obviously gets shipped in from the illustrious Qo'noS vineyards.
So, at current market, 200,000 dili is about 1250 zen or 8000 dili cap times 25 (or about 50 zen or $.50, per member of a 25 man fleet). Now that is not taking into account fleets doing both a KDF and a Fed base. Thankfully we have fleet ninja that are filling the special projects. Pretty fish tank!

LTS, here since...when did this game launch again?
Given the technology of the era, the fish tank could could have a dedicated life support system working in tandem with critters that clean the tank, the KDF could have an on station hydroponics bay and targ farm to supply the troops. Klingons like fresh/live meat!!
When Klingons fall upon Bloodwine that isn't even as real as the Federation's synthehol, you know things are bad. I see several Honor Duel's in J'mpoks future. :P

I've always pondered as to the reaction Antedeans would have towards seeing humans keep fish in inescapable see-through tanks.
I suspect that the Antedeans would think of it more like we think of pet mice. Sure both Antedeans and goldfish are fish, but they're no more similar than people and mice. I have to wonder if the Antedeans would think of them as live food.
These are pointless...my Fleet leader left for the most part for GW2 and we haven't been able to do any of the fleet projects for weeks.

I've given up on these. Because Cryptic insists on keeping them secret until the previous project finishes, the best thing to do is wait until they start rotating in. Then you will have a better idea of which to choose and which aren't worth the dilithium.
Otherwise each time you accept one you risk getting a dud like the tribbles. And of course you can't undo it once you find out no one in the fleet wants to waste their dilithium on it.

Cryptic is proud of customization options which players have with their characters, even Mr. Sthal spoke about it in one of Ask Cryptic or State of Game. Space stations were have to be unique for every Fleet, right now I'm all most sure that all stations look exactly the same.
Instead those so called spacial projects you should give Fleet leaders or any other person with correct fleet permission to use foundry and design which elements should be put in actual interior. Depending on which elements were used in project game system will calculate cost for Fleet project.
For example I'd like to put three ship models on wall in Ops and a chair under them. Each model have base cost: 2500 GPL, 50 dilithium and 2 Self sealing steambolts and chair require 50 Provisions. So Fleet must pay 7500 GPL, 150 dilithium, 6 Self sealing steambolts and 50 Provisions to activated new project for furniture.
Ok, for all those people who think I'm a PWE shill, stand by...
Cryptic, you've got to be kidding...
A fishtank?
200K Dilithium for a fishtank?
Ok, I'm going to give a little bit of feedback here...
Let's just assume for the moment that 150 Dilithium equals 1 Zen, more or less. 1,333 Zen. Or, $13.
See, for a few bucks more, I can go out and buy a real fishtank. One I can actually visit for more than a few minutes at a time.
Assuming I want a fish tank in the first place. What exactly does a fishtank have to do with Star Trek?
See, a lot of us feel that 200K Dilithium is way out of line for what seems to us to be very minor cosmetic and non-functional enhancements. It's hard enough keeping up with the Dilithium drain of the Starbase projects that actually contribute to building our base.
If you want us to buy cosmetic enhancements, fine. Set sane prices, and maybe we can work things out. I figure a fishtank is worth about 250 Zen.
If you want us to cough up 200K Dilithium, those projects better be relevant to Star Trek and they better be major enhancements or minor functional upgrades.

Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.

Probably no different than people keeping monkeys as pets.

hope the hologrid does not break, and the fish become sentient and try to take over the Alpha Quadrant.
All hail the new Fish overlords

DELTA PRICE RISING
more then welcome to come over to our fleet, havent missed a project yet
Kidding aside, this will make a nice addition to my fleet's Ops room. I was wondering what exactly this object was when I saw it on the mini-map.
This. I would spend HOURS staring at this.
As I manage Doffs of course.

How did we ever get to a Tier 4 starbase without a fish tank?
