No Q in my mission either. I've made it though about half the missions so far and i'm pretty impressed with the story everyone has come up with. Seems overall there are some very creative folks out there!
So far the reviews of my mission seem pretty positive, and people are enjoying it so I can't complain. Still a little sad though mine was the only KDF mission. Hopefully more in the next challenge.

I was planning on making a Klingon one, but then I saw the Defiant interior map and couldn't resist.
Will probably make the next one Klingon.
On a side note- it's good to see that you have so many play throughs on the Klingon mission. Usually it's hard to get Klingon missions played- maybe more people are playing Klingon now?
I know in the last challenge- I read over and over again about people saying that they would have played the Klingon missions in the challenge but they didn't have a Klingon character (or one high enough in the ranks to play the mission).

Ya, I could see how that would be a problem. I've got 3 VA Klingons myself and man leveling them was painful to say the least. The way I look at it is if I would have had some really good Foundry missions to level on it would have made them a little more fun. I see it as a personal challenge to make a KDF mission, and have it played. There are so many die hard KDF players out there and they are all hungry for good content. It's an awesome community and I do my best to brighten things up as much as I can over there.
I've made exactly 1 KDF Foundry mission, and that was on Tribble. I just don't have a KDF foundry char on Holodeck. I keep thinking about it, but I don't want to go to the work of leveling another foundry char.
PS- After playing almost all of them, although Q is mentioned in a few, it looks like the Romulans were the race of choice by the majority.
They have one of the most interesting background. They are a passionate people, and they have a strong link with one of the Fed core races. In addition to that, it's always a pleasure for me to write something about the Romulans since they are so close to the Roman people - and I'm an history teacher (non-native english speaker, don't worry for your kids and my mistakes).
Or maybe we're just saying that it's time for a Romulan faction.
I have a question on the rules for this challenge. Are we allowed to modify our missions at this point in the challenge?
I've come up with lots of ideas on how to improve my mission, but I'm not sure if it's allowed.
As far as I know, you can fix glitches and spelling mistakes, but story or core aspects of the mission should only be changed after the challenge is over- but maybe Bran can say for sure.

That's what I thought.
Anyways, yes, it is time for Romulans to be a real faction.

Here's what I wish Cryptic would do.
Make a new special Foundry Challenge that is specifically designed to fill the mission void in the Klingon faction.
Make a series where the reward isn't Z-points but an official entry into the official mission playlist for the Klingon faction- with the same experience and rewards benefits at the real missions.
Even if the rules were super strict- I think you'd get a lot of people joining for a chance at being part of the main mission list in STO.
Even if the Challange focused on a completely new storyline thread not yet introduced in the KDF story- like the conquest of a race of area of space.
Possible rules:
1. The level must be set to the level that is being developed, like 1-16.
2. Missions must not disrupt the story already in place in STO.
3. Cryptic must be given the right to veto any mission voted by players and/or given the right to change the mission to fit within the STO story framework.
Anyways, yes, it is time for Romulans to be a real faction.
I agree that it would be cool to have another faction, but I think two things need to happen for that to work.
1. Fill up the Klingon missions so that you can start playing from level one. This needs to happen to see if another faction would even be worthwhile. If having a fully fleshed Klingon faction still doesn't bring players into playing a second faction, you have to wonder if it would work for a Romulan faction.
2. Cryptic should put a lot of work into the Romulan faction BEFORE release so that what happened to the Klingon faction doesn't happen to the Romulan faction.

Is it just me or have the play-thru's for this challenge really started to run dry?
I'm keeping track of all the mission play-thru's and they've really slowed.
Either people forgot the challenge or the ones who wanted to play it have already done so.
Judging from my number of plays, the majority of plays are coming from my forum sig. The only mission I haven't played yet is the KDF one, but I don't have a 41+ toon, so I need to get a friend to share it. I wonder how it's doing, since my 7 month old KDF mission has like 40 reviews.

Here's the current rundown of missions- by highest number of play-thru's to least.
Relics -172 -4.01
Ancient Dreams -80 -3.96
Atlas -65 -3.77
The Long Sleep -52 -3.83
The Answer -43 -3.84
The Zypex Revelation -38 -3.71
Mudds' Treasure -29 -2.59
The Darkness between the Stars -29 -3.38
The Twilight of the Gods -26 -3.85
Terrors of the Past is currently at 28 Plays. 4 Star on average.
My other Klingon mission is at like 180 plays but it's been there for about a year now.
I was really kind of hoping more people would play it, but I guess there's not much interest on the KDF side.
First, I thought I had put your mission on the list. I was/am following it. Sorry.
Secondly, I think one of the problems is the level of the mission. Not many people, % wise, have a maxed out Klingon character. I think you'd get more play-thru's with a lower level. Comparitively though, almost half the other missions have around the same play-thru's.

It's ok. Oddly enough it doesn't really need to be that high of a level cap, but since some of the story involved the Borg it jumped it up to level 41+. No one ever fights the Borg, but I had to recreate some events involving them.
Having been playing this game since launch I've got 3 Klink's to max level so it wasn't really much of an issue for me. Some of my previous missions though were 16+ but I guess in the spirit of the challenge I should have tweaked the story for something lower level.
I have now tried three of the challenge missions.
Private comments from the DROPPED missions have been sent in game with the reviews.
All dropped missions are for the same reason.
IF you place an object that I have to interact with ... DONT HIDE IT
I will not spend more than a couple minutes SEARCHING your map for an objective point , even using the scan ability to try and find it. One mission , my scanner indicated I was standing on the objective and no interact or anything was available. This was ground.
Mission Dropped 1 StAR
Other was a SPace Area to interact with that was so small I apparently flew over, past and through it trying to get the clicky to move on on the story.

I will keep playing them , I love the foundry. After three in a row unplayable though , I am done with playing challenge missions for now.
Hey Captains. I've been receiving a ton of votes, so they are coming through. Let me repost the information from the blog:
Once you have played through them, please send an in-game mail to @PWE_BranFlakes with the mission you feel should win this month's challenge. Unless you play through all of the missions pretty quickly, he should not be getting votes until late next week/ the week after that.
Make sure there is a "_" between "@PWE" and "BranFlakes".
Thanks again for participating in the vote! Voting ends tomorrow at 10AM PDT.
I've played through all of the missions now and made my vote.
First of all I would like to thank every author for spending their time to create missions and give other players a lot of wonderful Trek-stories and entertaining playtime.
I play these challenges since #1 and I feel that the missions get better and better with every challenge. The variety of ideas was huge this time and some entries were very creative.
I can only speak for the player but I guess that the extra time for creating the missions was used well. Also I liked the expanded voting period. This time I could spend an whole evening for every mission so I could really "explore" it and didn't need to rush.
Unfortunately I have to appologize for not playing your mission khan. I still don't have a klingon at this level. But it will be the first foundry mission with my kligon when he's 41!
Again, thank you guys for the joy. I am looking forward to challenge #5!

It's these kind of quotes that keeps me making more missions.
It's good to hear that people are having a good time and a good strat trek experience by playing both my and other fellow foundry author players.
Now for the wait to see what the next challenge theme will be...

I just felt like I have to say this. Everytime I read one star comments like "boring" or "my bo's got lost" or "I was unable to start the mission" (even if it's written where you have to start) I really feel sorry for the authors for getting this kind of feedback.
I mean, at least try to be constructive or tell what you didn't like. It's still better than just saying "boring".
I am not a game designer so it's a totally different "world" but during my field of study I developed several stories for short animation movies - so I know how much it can hurt to get negative feedback which just says "meh, it's awful"...
