Maybe nowhere on this site. It's funny, I grant you that. But this is a STO forum, it is connected to the game.

And we the players are not?

    @centersolace

Your opinion is more than clear (as you are the main contributor to the thread in question), and for the rest your comments were pretty insulting, for which you do not apologize, so I don't think I'm going to reply to you.

Been a while since I posted one of these.

Welcome to Ten Forward. We are an eclectic bunch who value humor and silliness over pure Trek canon and role play.

Here in Ten Forward we do many silly things like make a thread not die simply to have a perpetual thread. As long as we follow the rules no one gets bothered. Well no one but the occasional person like briitta. This is evidenced but the fact that I have only done about three "Welcome to Ten Forwards" posts since open beta some three years ago now.

We make posts to have fun and share and we most certainly do not expect to have our posts taken seriously. For certain nowhere near a serious as this thread has made the "Pure Awesomeness" thread.

No, you are right that it does not only need to be about Star Trek.

Topics on Robocop, Judge Dread, etc., they were all fun too. And fit fine in 10f, as it is a place where sci-fi fans tend to go.

And your opinion on other threads that have died is noted. But that is a matter of taste.

But the rules for 10f leave a lot open, but they also imply topics. They do not say: just put anything here. Or: 10f is a sort of waste-bin for topics that fit nowhere else. Moderators, by their own admission, rarely visit 10f.

And if you are saying: the problem of irrelevant and out-of-place threads is not that big. As I said, you might be right on that on, and I might be wrong. Maybe I'm seeing it as being bigger or more of a bother than it really is. But I still think it is good to have a discussion on it. After all, 10f is of all of us, so we can discuss on how we think it should look.

Remember when Raven used to do her weekly surveys and Geko and Salami would post in them? Ah the good old days.

Fair enough. But if you like the forum as a place to post things, then there are an enormous amounts of them around to do so on.

Imagine I have a new pussycat. Do I then post that picture here on ten forward with the title: look at my sweet pussycat?

I would post it on the pussycat forum, or something like that.

But if I then photoshop my pussycat, give it a Startrek uniform, and then post it with the title: look at my Kirk pussycat?

There is nothing to stop you from doing this and I would probably appreciate it. I have two cats myself, Serenity and Baloo. Now if you were to put it in a TOS style shirt and get it to pose with it's paws over it's head and caption it with something like, "The Romulan Star Empire has you where it's want you, Kitten Kirk." that would be pure Ten Forward gold.

    Just saying.

In closing, welcome to Ten Forward. It's like that lounge on the Enterprise-D where Starfleet crew to go and be served drinks by Guinan. Where Data tries to tell jokes, while Riker, jordi and Troi play poker. A casual place where you can go to talk about things that are not Star Trek shop. You know what ever crosses your mind even if it is a thought as paltry as Captain Z is Pure Awesomeness.

This is the kind of place a kicked back soul like Morn would hang out in. What happens here in Ten Forward should stay here in Ten Forward.

Edited to add a proper canon kitteh, put a 'p' in cation and add an 'i' to briitta's name.
If you are a pickle in a pickle jar you know every pickle's different, sort of, but really they're all just pickles...
    They taste the same.

For the record, I am the one who started the Captain_Zero is PURE AWESOMENESS Thread. This person has contributed a lot of the community as a whole. Your thread is hateful, ignorant, and plainly rude! Threads and people fueling this kind of behavior should not be welcome on these boards, period!

Edit: If this is the kind of message Cryptic/PWE wants to allow as a thanks to players who have supposed this game before it even hit beta. You might as well just tell us you don't want us playing or contributing money to this game (and I put in a decent amount of money into this game) and we will gladly take our business elsewhere!

EDIT: I don't know or care who Captain_Zero is, but the thread isn't doing any harm. It's been there for as long as I can remember. Considering it's still open, the mods don't seem to have a problem with it. Just leave it be.

    Hi,

This thread as I understand it has been created to discuss who can and can't post, as well as which topics members can and can't discuss even if the forum members in question are following the PWE Community Rules and Policies.

The subject line for Ten Forward section of the forums is a general guideline, but you should think of it more like the Ten Forward of the USS Enterprise-D, that being a social area for officers to relax, and discuss that which they have in common, or simply have some fun.

No forum member here has the right to ask, discuss with, insist to, persuade, or tell any other forum member in any manner, which topics they can discuss or whether or not they can socialise here or that they should go else where to do so. Due to this; I'm closing this thread down.

    1. For future reference please remember that it helps a great deal when posts which violate the PWE Community Rules and Policies are not responded to and are reported via submitting a Community Ticket (click).

    2. If you think any of your posts within a thread have violated the PWE Community Rules and Policies, please edit your posts before a moderator takes action.

    3. If you feel you need to get in touch with PWE BranFlakes to discuss the actions taken by any Community Moderator, you can do so by submitting a support ticket (click).

    Cheers, :)
