STFs of all kinds need a simple vote-to-kick function.

Any player can call a vote simply by clicking on the target and all other players get a popup voting window with a simple yes or no option.

    Majority vote wins

    Problem solved.

No, as has been stated over and over again, a vote kick system would only open up the door to even more problems. It wouldn't solve anything.

Agreed! The last thing we need is another way for players to grief each other. Besides the issue CAN'T be as bad as a (very) few seem to maintain. Of all of the STF's and Fleet events I've flown I've only ever observed one instance where someone MAY have been AFK. I'm not sure that was the case as their ship did move from time to time then stop again.

The reason I'm uncertain it was an intentional AFK is because of something that happened to me, recently. I entered an STF and suddenly started getting server connection issues. I would move a few feet then everything would freeze with a message in red that it was trying to re-establish server connection. After a few moments connection was re-established only to be lost again... and again... and again. From some of the messages that would spam up when I DID get connection it was obvious that team mates saw me as still in game. I'm sure, to them, I was just sitting there.

I'm sure there are some farmers... but there obviously aren't that many and some of those that ARE aren't farming or griefing but, rather, being griefed by the system

I've asked for it before and I'll ask for it again. Give us friendly fire and let us sort them out ourselves since the Devs obviously don't care to... I'm pretty sure after getting blown to hell by the team your on 100 times you'll soon get the message...

If I get in trouble for that, then why the hell are they NOT doing anything about the cause? How could they justify punishing me when they are not punishing him? Right?

    Tempted, so tempted.

They gave me a infraction for that just now.

Bet I get another infraction for mentioning the fact I got a infraction.
Yea, look... In a year of being VA and doing enough STF's and fleet actions per session to know what I'm talking about (I don't feel the need to justify myself with actual figures), I have seen this happen the grand total of about 5 times.

I've had it happen to me so far 3 times in less then a week, all from the same fleet, first one I didn't do a GM report but since the other 2 I did.

A Vote To Kick system works fine in game that have NO loot.

In games with loot, such a system becomes a nightmare and opens the door to way more griefers and group griefing you coudl possibly imagine.

I dont like your ship? Vote to kick.
I dont like your weapons? Vote to kick.
You made a mistake? Vote to kick.
You lack experience? Vote to kick.
You dont do things my way? Vote to kick.
The loot is only for my fleet. Vote to kick.

People are crying because Cryptic is too slow to handle such a situation. But how could it be any otherwise? There are NO simple solutions for such problems. Like other people said, the best you can do is to observe who you are playing with, get to know them and play with them.

Oh and for what it is worth, yes i have seen an AFKER in Cure Ground Elite last night and it screwed up our team totally. Oh well, it happens 1 out of 20 runs? C'est la vie. We marked down that run and joined another STF. And all went well and life continued...

TLDR version: Just suck it up. It happened, it will happen again. But most of the time, things are running well mostly. Id rather have the dev team working on stuff more useful than wasting time and resources waging war against a few AFKERs.

Maybe that's not your experience, but really, I'm as bored of the forum threads and the STF runs themselves that cause them to be written as bubblygumsworth appears to be.

He's right. ALL STF issues relating to other players action or inaction can be very very very simply solved by playing with people you know, your fleet mates, or by joining any dedicated team play group or chat channel.

It's a really simple and even more obvious solution to ALL human issues on STF's. But what guess what I'm seeing around the forums?

People aren't listening to advice. The irony is killing me.

You forget, if people were to acknowledge the truth or follow any meaningful advice, they would have to admit they are wrong.

Remember it is easier/comfortable to blame others, rather than blame themselves.

Bahahahaha. I actually like this idea. I've had a few matches where I wanted to shoot people on my team. :D

Only problem is there are also people who will shoot you just because it's funny. :(
