This ship is from the old FASA TNG RPG module.
The FASA officer's manual is not canon like all the other various RPG material out there.
In fact a whole lot of things in the old TNG Officer's Manual (which only covers Season 1, after that FASA lost the license for it) is later contradicted by canon.
The Alaska class itself is already one such contradiction since the Enterprise-C is supposedly a member of its class while we know she's Ambassador class ship.
Not to mention FASA has its own Ambassador and Sovereign classes (even though the latter is called "Royal Sovereign" in FASA).
Those ships looks like this BTW:
i use Memeory Beta which is the offical wiki site for Star Trek
No, it's the "non-canon Star Trek wiki" meaning it is a collection of all material related to Star Trek whether it's canon (meaning it was on the screen) or not.
And in this case you used Mem Beta which uses FASA.
it just mentions that it was Fasa but the actual Alaska Class was not the Ambassador it was a basis of the Wambundu Class just bigger.
That is all more weapons and shiled power than the Wambundu Class.
Source?
That's not even in the non-canon material article.
Also if you read the Wiki says that the ALska Class is most likely a sub class of the Ambassador Class, not the class itself.
That's a supposition by the author of the article who tries to somehow connect the material together. There is no source and no explanation for this rationanlization given anywhere.
used as an alternative to the Promethus class in the Escort line. Near identical specs to the Prometheus, in length, turn speed, bridge officer layout, consoles & devices.
A 2 nacelle ship for escort fans that hate 4 nacelle ships.

not bad man dont bame you for me though the New Orleans Class Wambundu Class and the Alaska Class 9 disputed on this site though but it was a class of ship just too much books saying what it was and too many people bullying over this class that was real) Those be cool
I know this won't be a popular sentiment, but here goes:
I think it's time for Cryptic to halt all production of "existing" Starfleet ships, and get back to making the "future" of Starfleet.
I would caveat that by saying the Ambassador should be added, because it has the distinction of being an "Enterprise" but beyond that, no more classic ships.
Personally, I could care less about the New Orleans, or the Apollo, or the Constellation or other classes like that, because they were so rarely seen that I feel no connection to them whatsoever. Now, take that statement for what it is, my own personal opinion. You don't have to agree at all, as that is not what I'm looking for.
But, I look back at ships from the DTNE contest, and ships like the one I linked above, and it really makes me want to see some new, fresh looks in Starfleet. Even the Regent, I didn't particularly care for, because it's just another Sovereign.
Some entirely new, never before seen ships, that still hold true to Starfleet design principles (a saucer, a neck, a primary hull and 2 nacelles) would likely be big hits with the players, and would give some more options to people that may not like the "nostalgia row" of retreads that currently reside at the top levels of STO play.

I'd really like to see continuation on the 2409 ship "costumes" and +1 variants. They have helped define the future look and feel of starfleet and I can't wait to see what they come up with for other canon ships such as the Cheyenne and Prometheus and for the novel-borne Luna class.
Also, they should make ALL of the Gorn and Naussican ships currently in the game available to the KDF for their use. Plain and simple. Gorn and Naussicans are now part of the Empire, so why only make some of their ships available and not the rest?
lol, I know the two guys who made those, Ash and Avon from the Star Trek Armada Community, a Community I have been in since 2001. A lot of good designs are in that community, especially non-Fed designs as well.
However I know that Cryptic can't use fan designs, something to do with it's legal stuff.

Never was a fan of the Insignia class to be honest. It's another fan design, it's a modular design which is why it has that unusual saucer shape.
But considering I probably won't buy another Federation ship unless they bring the KDF up on equal footing my opinion on the matter doesn't really matter.
This is eaxactly what Memeory Beta says for the Alska Class Ship if anyon ewas wondering
Memory-Beta is a site for semi-canon, such as novels and such. You're best referencing memory-alpha as I don't know how far Cryptic's licence goes. From what I heard about the Vesta (semi-canon) they had to negotiate or something to get the design in the game. I can't see them doing this that much, it would be easier to make their own ships. I feel the Vesta is a exception due to the popularity of the Destiny and Typhoon Pact books.

I'm tired, stayed up late to order new phone and got up early because it was to hot and now I'm awake late again. Here is my ship idea for the Holoship from Star Trek Insurrection:
how about a fleet captains yacht with optional skins for voyagers aerowing and the galaxy class elliptical yacht, maybe a few gorn and nausican versions for our klingons

Wouldn't happen to be any of these, would it? http://home.comcast.net/~ststcsolda/index.html
BTW, lots of stuff there to build upon.

How does the celestial look like the soverign?
If you read the article to its end you will see the only source for the class is listed there in brackets () which is
"FASA RPG module: Star Trek: The Next Generation Officer's Manual"
meaning the FASA manual is the only source information used for the anticle.

That's not even in the non-canon material article.
FASA is still the only source used for thsi ship.
We were talking about canon ships.
So where is your canon source?
That's a supposition by the author of the article who tries to somehow connect the material together. There is no source and no explanation for this rationanlization given anywhere.
That is correct. I wish others would do their homework. FASA is basically all that's out there.
Maybe some Klingon Cruisers: http://screenshots.filesnetwork.com/16/files2/119661_1.jpg
Some Romulans maybe? About time they stopped using 22nd century Birds of Prey: http://screenshots.filesnetwork.com/16/files2/119660_1.jpg
Dominion War Era Cardassians (I know they wont ever use these because of the rights behind them, but still): http://screenshots.filesnetwork.com/16/files2/119455_1.jpg

Would be something fun for all the classes, but I think Science would get a bit of a tickle from it (come on, you know you deserve it).
LTS, here since...when did this game launch again?
