Many people playing STO like to pretend they are their characters. They like to role-play and imagine themselves in one of the TV series. It tends to happen much more in Social Areas like Drozana. Maybe Cryptic could include a NRP (non-role-player) Flag that shows up above each character to help avoid the confusion. Most people are nice enough if you just tell them you're not interested in role-playing, though.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Don't worry about the English, mate. Much better than most of our Dutch I bet. :D

All my characters are female. I never even considered that my characters gender reflected in any way to my gender (which is male) till one day about six years ago when I was in EVE when some guy was both astounded and offended when I informed him that I was a male.

"WHY IS YOUR CHARACTER A FEMALE THEN?!"

    "I dunno," I replied. "She's cute?"

Personally work under the MMORPG assumption:

    Many
    Men
    Online
    Role
    Playing
    Girls

I don't know why everyone else doesn't as well. Yes, women do play games. Good for them. They're real people to. OMG. I guess I don't care likely because I am as terrible at hitting on gamer chicks as I am the girl who works the counter at the Gas N Gulp.

Anyway, don't let it get to you. Some people take things too seriously.

Hey for English not being your first language, I'd say you did pretty good!

I also play a female character as my main (Butt kicking tactical guru). But I have never once gotten any of those types of roleplaying tells, or any type of tell of any sort about my toon's looks. That may be because I dress her as a Federation Officer and can't make her look all provocative. But I've been to Drozana countless times, on a lot of toons both male and female, from Orion to Klingon, Human to Bajoran and never gotten any of these.

I think people hate me =(

My reaction though if anyone does decide to do so is mild amusement and move on to what I was doing.

Personally, I rather look at a female's behind all day than a males. There is no other motive for me playing female characters.

Drozona is a hangout for roll players. If you don't want to roll play, tell the person who asks. It won't hurt their feelings.

Both of my characters are Males. However I been thinking of doing a tactical officer later, and doing a female this time. I have the idea of a Lara Croft type person. A girl tactical packing 2 pistols. I'm a male, and I play with either genders on games. As long your having fun, that is what matters.

Stay away from Drozana Bar if your costume is sexy. They say it's for "Role Players". But the end goal of many there is for Cyber Sex. That's why you broke "her" heart. Haha

I couldn't play as a female, I think it's a little weird. No offence to people that do but I'm happy playing as aliens but that's where I draw the line :P

Speaking of though, Saurian women should not have TRIBBLE.

What boots does that borg on the far left wear? I like them, they would look good on my women.

And Warp Drive is a copout to justify the impossible math of boldly going where no one has gone before. And half-human ancestry (a complete impossibility) was a copout to justify giving Spock emotions. It's a TV show; if it was accurate nobody would watch it.

Back when roleplaying was a thing in MMOs such as EQ, they devised an easy way of telling the roleplayers from the non roleplayers. They changed the colors of the names over their heads. Green were non roleplayers, purple were roleplayers, red were pvpers.

I have a mix. But I do have more female than male. (I'm a guy)

Char1: Melati Kusumu, Fed Eng, Orion/Kriosian(Alien), female

Char2: Beltran, KDF tac, Orion, male

    Char3: Eridian, Fed Sci, Mirror-Universe Vorta(Alien), female

Char4: Tetin, Fed Sci, Andorian, female (this is my Holodeck Foundry char, these are actually what the char creator had as it's default settings at the time.)

Char5: Chuft, Fed Tac, Kzinti(Caitian), male

Char6: Drexela, Fed Eng, Joined Trill, female

Char7: 7 of 13, Fed Tac, Liberated Borg human, male

Char8: Carnlan Rixx, Fed Sci, Bolian, male

Char9: Monica Rappaccini, Fed Eng, Human, female

Char10: Sekkoth, Fed Tac, Vulcan/Romulan(Vulcan), male

Char11: Emani, KDF Tac, Liberated Borg Klingon, female (Tribble, Foundry char)

See? It'd be REALLY boring if all my chars were the same.

I've never had issues with Drozana, but... It tend to use "conservative" outfits...

its pathetic but this will probably always happen.

I play a few female characters as well, and I just set up outfits that make them hairy, ugly, and extra plump, for when I goto Drozana.

Seems Drozana is the creepy back alley of STO.

The pervs that comment really need to close the game, take care of their business, then come back when they can act appropriately. Games are NO PLACE for sex.
