We will be bringing down Star Trek Online tomorrow, Thursday, August 23rd, at 7AM PDT (click

Bravo in listening to us - nerfing the Cxp and dilth when dissmissing them is tolerable - but to have continued with the plan (up to the last few hours it seems) to make it so they could bought for Fleet credits and not be contibutable to projects or worse - be sold on exchange and not be contributable would have caused a massive $hitstorm.
Thank you for paying attention to us the players!
This is stated to be "working as intended".
Is this update included in this patch?
Could you please clarify by including this in the patch notes as I believe most players would like to be informed of such a counter intuitive system.
You will be pleased to know that I am pleased.
Are you going by the patch notes? Keep in mind that the change wasn't in the Tribble patch notes either.
I must be missing something: I have contributed numerous Fleet officers, purchased with Fleet Credits, to Fleet projects. Granted the rate of usuable ones is low.....
Yes I am going by the patch notes - but if they do go through with it - its going to be a disaster - I hope my opening post of Dev's using common sense is in fact the case.
This needs to be clarified - RIGHT AWAY!!
Yeah, you missed something. The most recent Tribble patch not only took the dismissing recruitments cxp and dilithium away, you couldn't contribute the doffs to fleet projects...even thou they were bought from the freakin fleet doff vendor...
When this was pointed out, the dev reply was (and this is a quote, seriously....)
"working as intended."
Really...this is a patch that should come with lube.
Unless they decided not to push this change to holodeck...but here is the thing - they didn't mention this part of the change in the tribble notes, so them not mentioning it in the holodeck notes doesn't really tell us if its happening (boo...stupidity) or not happening (yay...common sense)
If this is so, it makes absolutely no sense.
As i said, there are very few Fleet Doffs that can even be used for the projects. Further with the gross overabundence of certain types (Ground Warfare, Space Warfare, Flightdeck being the worst three), there would be little point in buying them for anything else but grinding them into greens, then exhanging for whites you can use.... in which case why bother having them at all? May as well just eliminate the common Fleet Doffs all together and save everyone a lot of needless running arou... oh wait! It's PWE. Nevermind then.
i mean there is a limit to how much one can contribute this way. it costs what like 750 credits per officer and you only get 150 credits back?
seems like a good trade off to me.
guess buying on the exchange will also be a gamble because you wont know what you get until you try to contribute them. nice way to hose the market there too.
is it possible to get a full list of changes with each patch if this is indeed comming and not noted? kthanx!
-isnt only concerned about pvp-
(tears up...) Its so cute when they grow up.....
This is a question regarding the updates to the science ships. Is the Reconnaissance Science Vessel included under the categories of ships mentioned as getting a change to the base turn rate, or is it only three/four specific ship models receiving the update?

its only the nova/rhode island class of science ships that are getting a slightly better turn rate. that entire line of science ships are.
To be fair, they just added new content a few weeks ago. One can hardly expect them to add new content with every patch.
Thank you for finally fixing the bloom issues in some maps!
But when are you going to update the exchange so we can sell these useless space/ground warfare doffs?
I like what STO became. Keep up the good work.
Yeah this change is definately a WIN for the KDF being we mostly have melee bonus passives I am glad it finally got upgraded so it can be a viable to use melee weapons and not see some guy in a STF with a nausicaan sword or something and be like oh god not a meleer LOL

Seriously, how incompetent can you be to clarify this as 'working as intended' when any idiot can see this will cause a ton of problems when selling those doffs on the Exchange?
It's just an oversight they can't be bothered to fix. If it really was intended, then it'd be:
a) in the patch notes.
b) no longer possible to sell the doffs on the Exchange.
I think the percentage mentioned in my signature just dropped to a promilage.
(I know that i can't play it during the update bt what about before?)
No. servers are gona be down.
Criptic dosn't care about europian players. (me included)
Really! That is utter utter bollocks.
I'd have though the whole chain of reasoning for putting this in the first place was:
- People are having trouble getting enough Doffs for the fleet system
- Oh well lets give them some through the fleet system!
- Excellent idea!
If the "intention" was not to have them available for fleet projects then the would just have made them bound. Bound Doffs can't be used on projects and have the added advantage of being unsellable on the exchange so wouldn't introduce ANOTHER issue.
Looks like this thread had the desired effect!
I should do more stats on STO. . . .

the fail of fleet doffs is strong in this one
secret patches are working as intended indeed
a history of sto pvp: 2010 - 2011
a history of sto pvp: 2012 - 2013
Doesn't Sweeping Strikes fall under hand to hand? That wasn't included with the change.
Lion Heart of Hammer Squadron
Now I wonder if the default answer will be working as intended....with little or no explanation?
