I have used the foundry quite extensively before this season. But for some reason, ever since its come back up my editor is operating extremely slow. It takes 5-10 seconds to get things like dialogue boxes and objectives to appear. The map is practically un-navigable because it seems to freeze up every 6 seconds (which lasts for about 15 secs). Luckily i had completely designed my levels before this update. All i need to do to is copy text from word, but that takes so stinking long. For some reason once I unclick from the dialogue bubble that also takes 5-10 secs (with all the other slow downs) so its taking forever to just do the simplest thing. I am wondering what happened, cause it worked absolutely fine before. Any help would be appreciated, because basically its super impractical for me to work on my mission in the foundry now.
It's the same for me. I fear this might just be the way of things now. It could be a side effect of whatever massive changes they made the the way the Foundry is actually built. I have to say I find it really irritating as well and I'm hoping that maybe it'll be seen to soon. It'd be really nice to have it working like it used to again.
EDIT: Okay, I'm not sure if this is just a fluke or not, but I created a brand new mission and I don't seem to be getting the lag problem. Maybe this just applies to missions that were created before the Season 6 Foundry update. I don't know if your problem was with a mission you started working on before the Foundry went down for the update or not, but if it was just create a new mission and work with it a bit. See if you are still getting the lag problem or not.
EDIT: Okay, I'm not sure if this is just a fluke or not, but I created a brand new mission and I don't seem to be getting the lag problem.
Based on past experience, I suspect it occurs as the mission gets larger. For example before the S4 patch the editor would become more laggy as you added more stuff to it. Dialogue trees in particular would lag the editor out completely. The more dialogue you added the worse it got. It was so bad that I was forced to create all my missions without text and couldn't add text until the editor was updated. Even with no dialogues I was still getting around 20+ second pauses after each edit (move something...wait 20 seconds, rotate...wait 20 seconds, edit a dialogue...wait 20 seconds).
It was horrible! It's a big reason why it took me so long to make my first mission, because half the time I was just sitting there waiting for the editor to finally catch up! Without the update I couldn't have even finished my missions because the editor would have become completely unusable long before I finished. It's simply not possible to use something where you have to wait 60 seconds after you edit one piece of text.
The good news is the current lag isn't quite as bad as that now. It's not absolutely debilitating, and you might be able to theoretically work through it, but it's still pretty bad. Unfortunately, it's bad enough that if it isn't fixed, I'm honestly not sure whether or not I'll be able to continue on creating missions.
I also I have the same problem, slow is too high and does not make sense, if every time I have to change the height of an object and takes 4 seconds to update and preview the map 10 seconds to do a mission is something endless, I guess Cryptic is aware of this and that solved some day, in the meantime I'll settle for any damage of the season 6 on my other missions and leave a little side the new.

Everyone who is encountering problems, please post the shortcode (ST-HOHOHO) for your projects that are experiencing lag. I am going to fix all the issues I can find and I want to make sure I find all the issues you are having.
jfinderdev, no offense but how about the missing character slot problem I keep reporting? I believe it;s been listed as fixed twice and it still doesn;t work:
I had lag, but... it's gone now. I'm not sure what it was or what I did. After a bit of editing (or time where the editor could download freely from the net) I didn't notice a problem again. At least, with a jumpy editor that felt like lag. I don't know what I did if it was even anything I did. I'm not sure it was just getting more download time.
I'm sorry I can't give a project ID anymore for an example, but hope this info helps find the problem.

He doesn't work on that, mikewendell.
Further, that issue should have been addressed with the Season 6 patch. If you're still having this issue, it's concerning. Please submit a (new) GM report for it, so they can look into it. And let's please leave the rest of the conversation about this topic for its own thread.

I know for a fact that the problem happens on the following projects: ST-HAKXYCH4Y, ST-HDMGKMQ8B, ST-HPL65VL2A
The editor will be extremely laggy, even when simply scrolling the mouse wheel to zoom in on the map it lags.

Ok, send a ticket to the missions that give me that problem, but I'm in all missions, all maps have a subject matter or is 200.
This is not important whether or not, but when I am selecting a mission in the game (which is) and I have the menu open Foundry missions throughout the game slows down to me, in return for tab or close all again normal.

Hi jfinderdev,
I am quoting you in hopes that you will be informed that you have been quoted since there doesn't seem to be a way to personally message a user on the forums.
Again my shortcode is: ST-HHUCJI72A
I am currently working on a mission for 4-5 hrs at a time and getting about 1 hour's worth of work done simply because there seems to be a 3-4 second lag between every action I take.
Even when I go to CTRL/click select an item on the list if I move my mouse it will select the item above or below it because my previous command is being registered seconds after it was executed.
If there is anything you can do to improve the speed at which I do my editing I would be very grateful!
I was hoping to add more by October 1st, guess that is not gonna happen. As with everyone else's mission, the lag makes the editor unusable, please fix this.

Now that a lot of fixes are in the pipeline (one is on Tribble, other fixes should be coming soon), I thought you might like to know what happened.
The new slowdown is primarily the result of changes to the Costume Editor. This means the more costumes you have, the slower your editing would be. Nagorak, your missions performed the worst out of everyone in this thread because you create so many custom costume. (BTW, Nagorak's missions are awesome because of all the custom costumes he makes. You should play them.)
On my test computer on one of Nagorak's projects, it would take 660 ms to update the UI after each change. On Tribble, it now takes 280 ms to update the UI. Once all the optimizations get in, it will take 180 ms to update the UI after each change. (These numbers are all on my computer. A slower computer will run slower.)
Yeah, that wasn't something I was thinking about. Nag's missions do tend to be huge. Thanks for giving us the info now that you know what's going on and that there is a fix in place. Better then getting us hopeful about something that doesn't work.

Please help me, every single mouse click is accompanied by a 3 second or more stall.
In order to copy and paste I have to press copy at least 3 times to make sure the command goes through.
I'm going to bookmark this thread and hope that this issue is resolved for everyone shortly.

I haven't edited it much since Season 6 launched, but I noticed extreme lag now. It's almost not editable anymore.
I hope there's something that can be done about it.
