You obviously don't accept that it is no-win, that it is entirely (not nearly) impossible.

That being said, I agree that the difficulty jumps too much too soon.

Since I don't believe in no-win scenarios, I run the others and leave No-win Scenario to die on the vine, much like the Crystalline Entity (though you at least get points for progressing).

fairly much so. It took only one time to run it, and level 5 was majorly changed from tribble last time I checked it, I just informed our fleet to avoid the whole thing. Consider it the new Crystalline Entity, and leave it alone.

We have a high AOE DPS team and control team for PVE and to have all those come in like that on stage 5...

Hey, good job on the Fail Cryptic! :).

I agree that the difficulty increase between level 4 and 5 is absurd. It seems like this could be ramped up more steadily.

Played this earlier - I accept that this mission is supposed to be unbeatable as such, but those warheads (Which I shall henceforce refer to as 'the ultimate weapon' are overkill.

As others have said, it goes from just about managable (level 4 ) to downright nigh-impossible in the very short time it takes for level 4 to end and level 5 to commence.

Yes, it's meant to be hard - I KNOW that, but those warheads are insane - fired a torpeod spread - the ultimate weapon's point defense killed the majority of them. Tried GW - nothing, flipped PO to speed cooldown up and fired off TR - nothing. Even activated my own point defense console - weakened one, but wasn't enough to stop it. Went boom and had to sit in respawn oblivion.

In the (short) meantime, the rest of the team had the good sense to focus on healing the transport - sadly, at the cost of their own ships

Respawned just in time for another ultimate weapon spam. Flipped on my Bellerophon's ablative armor so could (just about) withstand the warhead/ultimate weapon's point defense spam only to have the pleasure of watching the ultimate weapons wipe out the team AND the transport almost similtaniously. And, obviously, with ablative armor active all I could do was fire off torpedoes, most of which were shot down again. And as soon as my armor dropped the klingon fleet made mincemeat of me too.

I wouldn't mind so much if there were some counter for them, but there doesn't seem to be.

Wait wait wait, back the torp tube up here a moment. So you're saying that the bio-neural torpedo PDS is able to shoot down a torp spread, which NOTHING in the game can do since they're not targetable?

Ok guys, let's review what we've gotten in s6 so far:
    ?isometric charges, the new invisi-torps.
?Nukara, a total repeat of defera.
?Some fleet only stuff, including a few things that can only be acessed by fleets.
    ?Another lockbox.
    ?a decent storyline.
?And all the glitches you could ever despise!
I think we got stiffed. Seeing as starbases won't be good for anything for a couple of months, I'm thinking S6 is looking to be a new record in fail history! If you guys needed proof that none of the devs actually played STO, here it is!
    When in doubt, (hehe) c4!

    Aren't Tricobalt torp spreads targetable?
That's the only one that is, I believe.
I assumed that's what he meant.

I could totally be wrong though. Haven't used them in a long time.

Tricobalts don't spread, it doesn't work on them. You can use High Yield and those are targetable but spread torps cannot be targeted by anything known in the game. If the BN PDS can target torp spreads and shoot them down, that's utter bull****.

These are NOT just showing up in the no win scenario though.

They showed up for me in Night of the Comet, and someone else mentioned they showed up in Past Imperfect.

They make sense in the no win scenario, but outside of that?

Erm.... Level your star base up so it returns fire, after level 5 gets easier with the more starbase abilitys you provision, I believe with star bases at tier 5 you prob will get to level 6 or 7 without great teamwork ( if u go in fleet only, and dont use the public ques)

    Sleep time for me....

Me and a long time friend in the game created some new toons and took em for a spin the other night, he got targeted with a Bio in Stop the signal, the 3rd or 4th mission in the game. Bit stupid having them at that low level, a new player wouldn't know what to do with them

But back tothe original topic, notice the devs or Panda's aint really chiming in on this? lol

Dunno why you say "impossible to kill the warheads" Ican easily take out two with Disruptor Scatter Volley and ONE quantum torp per head... And I only use TT1 and don't have any Maco or Omega gear. I'm not making this up, it's just the turrets that kill. Put a Tac Team on the transport just before they hit and it works pretty good.

As an aside (again) the Isometric charge fired by the Neghvars in CSE are now doing between 40k and 66k dmg -on the first hit-. So the supposed fix...didnt fix it.

I was around 20km away from the rest of my team and actually saw the Iso charge sailing at me from the enemy vessel. Thought to myself "Ah not a worry, Im the first hit....wait ....why am I a burnt out hulk in space?"

This has now happened 3 times with varying damage.

hmm... it's LESS than before. Before it would do several times the damage.... not much consolation admittedly.

One thing that might help: make it possible to DESTROY the platforms rather than just disabling them. Even then the warheads are still OP.

    I support this thread's message! :D
