Besides focus fire and target calling used with it, how does a team overcome multiple Extend Shield stacking in a match?
What weaknesses does extend shields have ingame? What tactis work to off set the advantage of multiple ships using extend shields among themselves to lock in high shield resists?
obvious one here, you kill the dude thats doing the extending. that ends the extend pretty quickly.
also!
since extend shields is a constantly reapplying power, if you disable the extenders shields/reduce their power. will this cause the extend shields to be less powerful/useless?
maybe that should be a considered counter if they balance pass it, if the extenders shields are reduced to a certain point extned shields turns off/cant be used.

"captain our shields are about to fail!"
"we need all our shields for ourselves, turn of the shield extending thingy!"

"aye aye sir"
I believe that Shield power used to determine how powerful Extend shields was. How ever Lately I don't think it does any more effect Extend shields. I've checked it's Tool tip when I've used an EPTS and With out EPTS and the numbers never showed a change. *Shrug*
You think that your beta test was bad?

You can also get lucky with shield subsystem targeting and drop a single facing down.
"Cryptic Studio’s Jack Emmert (2010): Microtransactions are the biggest bunch of nonsense. I like paying one fee and not worrying about it – like my cellphone. The world’s biggest MMO isn’t item based, even though the black market item GDP is bigger than Russia … microtransactions make me want to die.”
Tractor Beam Repulsors or that Klingon push-console-whatsitsname, or heck maybe even that subspace snare thingy can be used to get Extender and the Extended out of range.
Oh, and PSW of course.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.
Also worth noting is if the ship throwing the extend is rsp dependent, rsp goes on a 15sec cd when they engage extend. If your spikers are good enough, they can a lot of times switch targets and kill that healer in that 15 sec window. If the cruiser stacked a lot of their heals on top of that extends, a lot of times they have very little left for themselves short of their rsp (or their stupid TRIBBLE doff buffed bfi if their smart)
Unless of course when you switch to the guy throwing the extends and then another guy on their team throws him an extends and then you switch to that guy who then gets an extends so you switch to that guy who then gets an extends so you swith to that guy who gets an extends....
PSW gets it off unless they have a aux2id running or less likely an omega.
The TBR is a soft counter in that if you can get them beyond the 7.5 range then it drops but as soon as you get back within that range it comes right back up.
I definitely think the original extend shields was more balanced. 5km range and if you went outside that then it would drop off and not re-apply. At least there was more of a downside to using it then there is now. Now it is a very simple fire and forget skill that has no downside to being used and offers a tremendous shield resistance bonus. Since shield resistances work differently then hull resistances do it's pretty stupid.
Magnometric Overload does nicely too, and with the aux cranked, you can knock somebody stupidly far away. PSW might need some testing, I've not heard of that one.

and, get a psw on the extends sender when you go for the kill cycle.
have fun, kill bad guys

i just said that.
dammit.
lol
Anything that is a Disable vs the person sending the Extend Beam removes Extend from the Extend Target.
Those are:
Photonic Shock Wave (PSW)
Tricobalt Torpedo
Tricobalt Mine
HY Tricobalt Torpedo
I think there's also one more but I can't recall it.

Shockwave Torpedo?
Also, PSW removes extends.

VM may do it as well.

Well honestly, ROLFing isn't going to do anything at all to an extends now it is.
I know for a fact, though, that Aceton Field is the best way to fight through an Extend.

and PSW
Oh yes this.
...and what about PSW, no one has mentioned that one yet.

What about PSW? Any thoughts?
thanks.

i secretly hate all of you btw.

Anyway, I vote for Photonic Shock Wave...
Or I still have a few of those F'in lock boxes I could throw
