We do have a fix for this, it just didn't make it in time for this week's patch. Hopefully you'll see the fix sometime in the near future. My apologies for the inconvenience in the meantime.

Thanks for the reply. This bug has been driving me (and I am sure many others) crazy - as I am sure you can imagine.
Because when I'm zoomed out to see as much of the battlefield as possible, in an escort, PVPing, it's hard to tell which way I'm facing if I turn.
the blue glowy parts are in the back and the big round part is up front.
the screen does plenty of moving in the direction your going, i really don't see how you could get disoriented. the screen pivoting with your every move is terrible, stare at that long enough and id get motion sickness.

Actually I found that flying an Escort is a very different experience to a Cruiser. I use Free Camera on my cruiser, because of its size and wide firing arcs of the beam arrays. Just slide in sideways and lazily unload.
Flying an escort in Chase mode closer up makes it easier to line up your targets with a narrow Cannon firing arc. It's very easy to overshoot your target in free camera mode. Also, zoomed all the way out I can't see my ship, let alone the direction its facing. One of the downsides of the Bug Ship.

Is there also a fix for the camera bug that keeps flipping around your camera when you turn too fast in an escort? The current fix it to manually change your camera position. (This always happens in 'target' mode but also in 'chase'
Its easily reproducible.
The bug has been around since I play this game, Season 3.

I've given up expecting a fix for the endless swinging bug... as much of a pain in the butt it is...
When the game becomes pretty much unplayable (as it is currently) though, a line needs to be drawn.

There is a work around, the default key X will activate camera target lock.
If it is another camera angle, can you post which one doesnt work for you?
I use chase cam, not follow target. I also really have no keys left to bind near where my hand is on the keyboard. Already have keys bound for other bugs lol...
Thanks for trying to help though. It is appreciated.

This is definitely not perfect, but the HOME key resets the cam directly behind the direction you are going (i.e. if you are going in reverse it will show you the front of your ship).
Maybe tieing the home hey into a keybind, like space bar (so active when you are firing)... wont be perfect, but it will lessen the problem (hopefully) until it can be fixed for good.

I actually use this for the camera swing bug already. It's too slow though to be a real solution to the switch bug though when trying to line up cannon arcs.

The tailor bugs suck. But how is that more important than this?

This... and I prefer to control my ship with the keyboard similar to other space flight games.

Feels like this ... (1:01min in) ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5FmSmyHaCI
I would very much like to get back to playing the game instead of going through menus while dead...
i used to hate space battles on fast ships til i changed to chase cam it should be default
I completely agree. Not only is it by far the best view, it is also the closest view to what all other space based games use (for good reasons).
but at least people can now stare at their com badge ranks all day.
Good thing tor is going f2p soon. Looks like I will have lots of money to spend there...
