I don't have any lag issues and have never had a problem toon-swapping. Are you in UK/Europe? If so, you might try one of the proxies on the launcher. Its listed under options along the top when you start the launcher.

I'm having the same issues - lag and server disconnects. Since the game launched I've never ever had issues like this till season 6. I'm in the midatlantic region of the US so I'm not very far from where I understand the game servers to be located (Boston?). Not having any issues with any other online game just STO.

speedtest.net shows a 24ms to Boston for me so WTH is the issue?!?!

Speedtest is usually not valid as many ISPs cache it and/or have a higher priority assigned to that traffic.

There's a pair of teats to run in this sticky:

Can you please give those a try and copy ans paste the results so we can see if we see anything?

For me though, it;s always been the network. I use a lot of public wifis and I can pretty much know how the connection is going to be.

I hear ya about speedtest but it is a quick indicator of whether or not there is a real issue with primary hubs like MAE EAST.

I ran all the tests and to avoid a double post I'll put a link for the results here.

Ping and tracert look good but cryptic's nettest.exe did not seem to look so good if I read it correctly, that to me indicates the issue is more likely on their side or with their provider.

I do a LOT of stuff on the net to include other games and multimedia, however right now STO is the only poor performer out of the bunch. If it was just my personal connection or a local issue then problems would be cropping up in other networking functions as well for me not just STO.

On the other hand, if it was a STO Server issue, then everyone should be having the same symptoms, which is not the case, as the only sign of Lag that I have is transferring into ESD and DS9 during prime time hours...

You really can't compare STO to other network gaming, as its known that STO is much more network intensive then other games, with a far greater number simultaneous network connections being used, and is far more likely to bring out deficiencies in your network connections...

Try cutting down on the number of network connections used, (such as disabling Voice Chat) and see if that improves your condition...

Voice chat is disabled already, don't use it. As I said it may be a portion of their hardware or on the other hand some of their data connections to it.

The majority of players appear to be unaffected yet there are many within my fleet (usa & worldwide) having intermittent disconnect issues, as well as others on the forums all reporting the same thing. Too many people are experiencing it to be an isolated fluke ...I've already ticketed it myself. This post is just another way of reporting it so Cryptic/PWE can look into it and other players are aware it's not just them.

And here is another thread cropping up on this problem.

Pair of teats....sorry for the derail, but I just had to LOL at that.

As to the post prior to this one: Enough with the "we're being discriminated against!!" conspiracy theory. It's getting quite old and stale, really--and your post title is quite crude and distasteful. If that were the case the whole of Europe would have the same issue. A handful of EU players having an issue =/= PWE/Cryptic being anti-EU

Again, people, run traceroutes and the basic diagnostic tests outlined in the stickies before you level your finger at the company. For those who have, congratulations--you now have something of a foot to stand on as well as a basic understanding of how the system works. For the rest of you, the internet does not magically consist of just your PC and the game server, hence the reason such diagnostic tests are provided.

For the record, NA players are having the issue too.
