TNG 25th aniversary: a blast from the past - Worf Season 1

captainhunter1captainhunter1 Member Posts: 1,633 Arc User
I just wanted to say thanks to the folks at Cryptic for including this. :)

It was really cool seeing season 1 (young) Worf in the Academy's holodecks (both Fed and Klingon) with the bad haircut and terrible 'pajama'-like season 1 uniform. lol! Whoever did the character rendering did a fantastic job! It's spot on!

But what was even better was getting the rewards - the sash, haircut option, and uniform were awesome FREE () additions. Thanks so much and happy 25th TNG!! :)

TO GET THE MISSION: either open your mission journal (press J) or visit Worf's hologram on the holodecks at the back of either Academy. Each character must visit Worf in order to gain the goodies for themselves (they are not account-wide unlocks).

I really like this too, too bad I don't have any klingon race characters, just one BOff that now looks like Worf's twin brother. :D

Yeah, they were just there, I don't know if you were able to do anything in the holodeck before. They should allow us to make our own holodeck programs

Yeah, you could use them for the Foundry (In fact there was a very Hilarious one that took place there, Believe it was Room Full of Crazy or something like that) Other than that, there isn't much there.

I'mgrateful for this event, I'm a TNG fan so this was nice.

The uniform looks sharp too, if I had anything to add, it'd be they go back to the other TNG uniformand make it look as sharp, y'know, fill in that missing bit of colour under one of the arms, make it look a bit less like it had been washed too many times, do something about the collar, make it look as sharp as this new top.

Not a criticism, for once I'm actually completely happy with something but just saying :P

I'd just like to point out one thing:

Old Worf over on Qo'Nos does not look like Michael Dorn due to licensing issues with his likeness.

Hologram Worf IS MICHAEL DORN, no matter how you argue it. Lets make this cosmetic change to the old Worf, please.

Which makes me wonder if Cryptic finally managed to get Dorn's likeness rights and we soon will see old Worf redone?

But got to say, props to the art team. The accuracy with the character modeler is top notch. I think he's the most accurate model yet, even surprassing McCoy, Scotty, and even Mr. Spock's likenesses.

And I'm happy we finally got Worf's Baldric (which is also the same costume piece that was worn by Kor and other Klingons in TOS). Now just need Worf's baldric from later seasons and us able to customize the pins on it, and bingo.

    They had it before.

The Worf in game was honestly somebody's best effort.

They'd have to pale him up and make his hair green/grey but otherwise, yeah.

It was? Thought we were told Mr. Dorn said no. Well if that's the case then Old Worf needs a makeover.

Question 1: How many times did Captain Picard backhand Wesley?

Question 2: How many attempts on Wil Wheaton's life was made during the production of The Next Generation?

Question 3: How many time was Wesley told to "SHUT UP!"?

Question 4: Did you know that Wil Wheaton himself actually hates Wesley and everything the creators tried to make him out to be? Yes/No

Question 5: In that one episode where Wesley was sentenced to death just for walking on the grass, why wasn't he killed? No, really. Why wasn't he killed?

So I went to kit one of my toons out in a canon season one uniform, only to find that the TNG combadge is pack locked and requires a zen payment of 550.

    Very dissapointing.

I think it also comes with the DS9 uniforms which you can buy of the exchange for EC :)

There was one Foundry mission that was made that involved Cmdr Barclay's daughter and an Iconian virus or something like that. Thats how I discovered they were there quite a while back. Cant remember the name of the Foundry file, but it was quite hilarious and IMO a nice extension of a familiar canon name from a players/authors perspective.

Not to mention that during the Starfleet Academy event, particles spawn back there as well. A lot of people dont know it. I had many nights back there by myself just farming away....but now its common knowledge and several dozens of people camp em.

It was a nice touch. I transwarped to Sol just to visit the holodeck! (I know...but it should go without saying that I'm something of a geek.)
Not sure a Klingon sash looks too good on a Vulcan, though.

On another note: 25 years since TNG started! Doesn't seem like five minutes since it was TOS 25th anniversary (and man, did that show seem old back then, like a proper relic from the distant past).
Maybe I'm just getting a bit long in the tooth...

It surely was. I welcome every tiny bit "Star Trek" which finds its way into "Star Trek Online". Allthough it really seems out of place between the Battlestar Galactica carriers, Mass Effect armours, the huge TRIBBLE guns and rifles everyone wields, the ugly alien ships ...

    1. More times than Q can count.
    2. Less than the number of death threats the creators of Jar Jar Binks received.
    3. Every time he talked.
    4. Huh, I always wondered about that...
    5. Poor script writing?

"A will and a Barclay" by XR377. Highly recommended.

It does an amazing job of both utilizing the holodeck and introducing a terrific NPC which does TNG canon proud.

The whole time, I imagined her being voiced by Felicia Day.

Who should totally be Barclay's daughter if they ever cast one.

I particularly like the gags where we're not sure if she's a hologram. :D

    Nice gesture.

Totally not going to unlock a Federation Klingon to really make use out of it, but maybe I have a character or two who can use some of it.

Thanks for pointing it out! Why wasn't there an official notification about it, though?
