i discovered there is a foundry mission where you can practice jumping for the IGE. i can make every jump in there, but still choke on the actual mission and end up plasma diving. apparently, i am not the only one with this problem.
i discovered all kinds of things inside my ship like an engineer that can do all kinds of things, which i have yet to explore. stumbled across this upgrading the reman set.
I have discovered that different people find different ways to enjoy STO
I have discovered that different people have different passions and priorities in STO
I have discovered NPCs that sell consumables that I normally would get off the exchange
I have discovered that I enjoy planning out how to get items without resorting to actual money
I have discovered that I need more DPS
I have discovered that I forgot there's a tribble in my bank. There is now a whole litter of them.
I have discovered that one of my favorite parts of playing STO is listening to another friend play the game for the first time and hearing their reactions to some of the story missions/events.

Yesterday I discovered my Alien Captain's feet still go through the floor when he sits down at his Captain's Chair.
I also discovered that I could stay onboard the interior of my Fleet Mate's Freighter while they had beamed out to do something. Very handy, especially all those cheaply priced commodities and the Bartender/Chef Doff missions!
I discovered that the UI configuration is stored server side and not client side. You should have seen what it looked like when I logged in on my new laptop. I thought my game UI had been redesigned by M. Esher.
I also discovered that I don't have a single technician on 4 federation characters.

What is the name of this foundry mission?

in foundry just search either "elite jump" or "jump elite". i use to complain i never got enough practice trying in the actual IGE. that mission was and is miserable if you don't have good jumpers.
after i found this foundry mission i practiced jumping for hours and did not miss one jump after much practice. then.....
i went to IGE and and volunteerd to jump. first thing i do is go plasma diving. for me this is the last mission i have mastered and i think i have a mental block or something. maybe i just want the omega/maco II shields too bad.....i don't know.
I discovered it IS possible to get a 'EUREKA!' on a 50% probability of success and a 5% on eureka.
...more than 6 people outside my fleet know about the Sh'mar.
...the defense contract gives me way more diteruim than I'll ever use.
...battleships are easier to kill than cruisers.
...borg PvE's seem easiest in Omega Leonis sector.
...rapid reload transphasics, don't
...shuttles have almost no shield heals
...the mailbox works better than the bank

i plan to practice more.
You can stay in the real STF mission after you beat it to practice jumping. Its how we used to do it back in the olden days.
I've discovered that we are no better than gerbils by grinding the same thing over and over and over to get a piece of gear that is only slightly better, but we want the visuals for it. So off to another STF.
I really had no idea about that Sh'mar mission. I must've passed it by countless times, without ever once wondering why it was there. I'm certainly thankful this thread brought it up or I may have never learned about that one!
I discovered that I grind for a week to make dilithium that converts to 10 dollars in c-points
I discovered that I work harder for STO than I do at my actual job for waaaaaaay less money
I discovered that I knew about the Sh'mar and the other secret mission in the Eta Eridani mission for a very long time and didn't tell anyone
I discovered that I've ran through the story missions in this game with over eight different characters and still don't have one accolade for killing 1000 Romulans or 1000 Remans or 1000 Hirogen etc. etc. etc....

Sadly accolades are by character not account. Which is sad.
-I discovered that travelling at Slipstream speed doesn't hold the glamor it once had.
-All sector space travel feels like swimming in a bathtub
-During sector space travel, going up high or down low...you hit something. In real Space, you keep on going.
-With all planets that existt in each space sector, only maybe 2% can be visited planetside.
-Last year, finally got to visited the Klingons' side of space exploration...just sample collecting it is.
The Crystal Entity is still a major pain the rear...

In university my professor was an idiot.

this is the kind of stuff i was hoping to see. i searched "sh'mar" and plan on trying this mission. no accolade, but i can always use 480 dilithium.
so at least 6 know now.

i discovered that almost everyone else grinds dilithium better than me

We have known about the Sh'mar for a while, but what is the 'other' secret mission you speak of?
