My Galaxy lacks the DPS I need as a Tac Captain because I only have two weapon console slots. On my Galaxy X, I have three weapon console slots. I use two for boosting Phaser power and one to boost the cannons' power. My Galaxy R don't have cannons and only two weapon consoles. I either use one slot to boost phasers and the other to boost torpedos but I found this inadequate because my torpedos are not weakening other players' shields. My Phaser beams weren't strong enough to take down their shileds. I am now using both slots to boost phasers but now my torpedos are not strong enough to finish the job when the players shields are down. Since Crusers can't have the DPS of cannons, atleast give us the chance to use the Torpedos in place of cannon power. I am asking that you give a third weapons slot that can be used to boost torpedos.
You could run both Tac consoles to boost phasers, then if you still want some torp dps, maybe look at the Breen set, 2-pieces give you a 25% or 30% boost to transphasics, same as a console. But you might loose out in other areas with this setup....just know it has worked ok for me on a few builds.

what slot do you use the Borg console in? That can be a considerable DPS increase.
Isn't the G-R more of a tank than a DPS cruiser?
I am a Tac captain so I can't be 100% Tank like an Eng captain. I have seen escorts act like tanks when used by Eng captains so why can't I do a little DPS with a cruiser as a Tac captain?

If you have the right BOFF setup you can fire off rapid BO attacks to make way for some nasty THY quantum attacks.
Gal-R will never have the best DPS when paired against somethin like a Gal-X.
Think of the Gal-R as a very good all round ship and the Gal-X as a very sturdy fighter.

Run all consoles for additional damage for your weapon type and run weapons at 100 power level and you should be fine. You're not getting anything that great out of 2 consoles for weapon damage and one for cannon damage, take out the cannon console and add in a 3rd damage type console.
