Chat Problems

Hello,

Im having trouble with my chat channels. I can only see people talk who are on my friendslist or in my fleet. I dont recall playing around with the privacy settings on anything in the chat options.

Any ideas ?

    no idea what we can do to resolve the problem ? wrote 2 tickets but no answers... :mad:

    Been wondering as well. Zone chat has been very quiet for about a month now for me at the hubs. No one ever responds when I throw out a "Hello :)"

    Maybe the transmitter conduit needs to be polarized or some *cough* like that. :)

    I have deleted my two Tribble Chars, uninstalled the game including Pando and clearing my registry. After that i make a fresh and clean install of the game.
    The chat problem still exist, cant read messages on any channel, no zone, no local, no red-alert, no nothing.
    What else can i do ? :confused:

    Nothing.. devs screwed it up... devs can fix it.

    I'm getting some zone chat which is new at DS9. Kind of weird as I'm only seeing a couple of players.

    I started clearing out my ignore list as a test. I did notice that I;m having a lot of problems doing so. For one, I have many "players" listed that well with the characters listed, I would be very surprised that they would be able to get their user names accepted. Many of them have %&*[] in their user names and I would be surprised if those marks didn;t normally get filtered out during account creation.

    I;m wondering if the ignore filters are seeing those and assuming that it;s some sort of catch all and filtering out all of zone chat.

    Considering all of the account and username problems with the recent change over....

    edit: Also when I try to remove someone from my ignore list, it;s even odds if they actually get removed or the game responds with a "You're not ignoring this poor fool."

    Problem solved

    The problem was at the privacy settings on one of my chars.
    On one of them i aktivated the wrong settings and all of my chars wont be able to chat.
    so check the privacy settings on ALL of your chars

    i have to thank my fleet and cryptic ingame support, i dont have to thank PWE Support, so many mails with... forget it...

    But what was the wrong setting?

    I only have three characters. My main that I play every day, a Klingon that I haven;t played in months and a delete and recreate random foundry character.

    put the checkboxes on privacy settings on all of your chars to off

    Yup, got that. Search is set to visible to all, made sure that Zone box is checked for the channel configuration, and sent out "Can you hear me?" requests.

    Nothing.

    I've seen one player chat in all this time.

    This is getting annoying.

    edit:I;d like to do a fleet for Season 6. Guess not....

    No go on Tribble as well. At least no one is responding when I throw out the "Can you hear me? I'm having zone chat problems" line.

    go down to the whitelist bit towards the bottom.

    copy and paste all of them into the zone chat field with a zero after each one.

    bloody so and so.....

    edit: I can;t find the threads but I;m seeing the black screen on tribble as well. Clicking the mouse a couple of times worked for me and the screen came back.

    lag is very bad.

    Just to clarify, my resolution was the following command in the zone chat field:
    /Whitelist_Chat 0

    I have tells turned off (I get a lot of abuse) but somehow this got set on me at a later date.

    Yeah, same here. Even got the message that I have a fresh account and therefore I am not eligible to whisper anyone whos's not in my friendslist.... My account was created in 2010... Been a Gold Member until recently...

    ive reset all tabs etc ,
    for me its happend since the episode 6 update patch,
    was fine before that

    Hey! im posting this just to show the way to solve this issue

    just go to the privacy then set On and then Off, the "Allow only friends and fleet to chat"

    hope that solve your problem :D
