Hi Captains,

We will be bringing down Star Trek Online tomorrow, Friday, June 29th, at 7:00am PDT (click here to view in your timezone) for maintenance and to apply a new patch. Patch notes can be found here, and we expect this maintenance to only last for 2 hours.

Thanks for your patience and understanding,

- The Star Trek Online Team

Not to be negative or anything but I do not see any patch notes stating the global cool down being reduced in time or being removed period.

The global cooldown of the skills affected by these new doffs will stop the reduction at 15 seconds where you have listed the 30 sec being reduced to 20 seconds will not have the desired effects unless it just wasn't stated but is in the patch...

Just thought I would state this incase it was not thought of which is the main conclusion that it was not considered.

Why do you always take the game down during 3pm GMT as that is peak time for UK gamers
surely you can do it earlier and didnt you do maintenance yesterday?

They take it down in the morning Pacific Time so if they break something, they won't have to work overtime to fix it.

    /a guess

oh wow, i thought the energy weapon officers were bad before. but this, this is not a fix, this is nothing. how exactly is the purple officer going to be useful when the global cooldown is 15 seconds? from what ive seen the doffs CANT reduce cooldowns PAST the global, so it would be impossible for a 20 second reduction to ever happen.

and 3 roles with a 25% chance of procing is not nearly enough to justify relying on it instead of running 2 copies of these powers. thus making the doff worthless regardless of the grade, i would never take 3 of these over just about any of the other RELIABLE doffs i currently use now.

there are doffs that are set up correctly to support short cooldown station powers, like the doffs that effect the team abilities (TT, ET, ST). that is the model that needs to be followed for these doffs.

Exactly I had very serious competence issues with what was going on in the game and this just further validates my suspicions LOL.

Seriously though they must think we are mentally challenged or something not to catch this because they had to have known with constants rants atleast by me than its useless until that global cool down is removed, reduced, or not sure what other way you can deal with it other than that LOL.

3-6pm in the uk I believe pretty much all of our player base is either
    still at work/school
having their high tea (old chap)
    commuting
    or in some cases asleep

But If I were sheduling these things it would be between 9am and noon uk time on a monday
(when EVERYONE is at work or school pretty much)

3PM is hardly peak hours in the UK let alone most countries around the world (unless it's a weekend). Most people will be either at work, at school or coming home from either work or school. To me it seems like an idea time to do maintenance as the server is patching and back up by 5PM, which 'is' when people start getting home ready to unwind and maybe spend an evening playing online (the prime time).

They will do it at that time because then if something goes wrong they will have the rest of the day to sort it with a full compliment of staff. It's a sensible move - but if it is no good for people in other countries, emigration is always an option :D

So, as I had originally said, Season 6 is not coming in June. I have always predicted Season 6 to not be out before middle of July or even later. Then Season 7 won't be this year anymore for sure, purrhaps on Tribble by Christmas if we're lucky. ^^

Not that I'm sad or anything, since my game always crashes after two weeks or so with UI stuff disappearing, textures not loading anymore and then crashing without a chance to get in again, I've uninstalled it until ... anytime? Maybe in August, when Season 6 is out and the worst bugs are fixed, I might give it another try and see if it still crashes after two weeks of a fresh re-install (tried 3 times, always the same after 2 weeks).

Anyway, I hope you're still on it, and see you in August. :)

OOOOUCH! Better be careful with my posts, looks like I went a biiit too far... *checks the rules before posting this, just in case* Uhhh, that link didn't work. *goes on to find it manually * Ok, I couldn't find anything about what I just typed above, but it seems I'll have to break (or bend?) a rule to correct your link: The link is in fact

Didn't use the url thingy though, just plain text :D

I sincerely apologize if this post unknowingly broke the rules.

In the history of America there have been no countries in the world to invade the US mainland(war with mexico was for territory not yet in full statehood or in a minor area)

War of 1812 the Canadain troops - still under British control - but separate from the British mainland fought south all the way to Washington D.C - when they got there they burned most of D.C to the ground - sacked the city and then there was nothing left to do so they returned to Canada.

Would Americans like Canada to invade again - march down to Washington without resistence - capture or eliminate all politicians, lawyers and lobyist in D.C again?

Why not relocate to an unused portion of Canada? Then the yanks keep their place, the canuks keep theirs, and you guys end up in either Mountain Time Zone or Pacific Time Zone. And, everyone is happy. Heck! We might even throw in Montana or the Dakotas.

I think they should use the same algorithm that is used to decide on drops of Prototype Borg Salvage in game to schedule the maintenance .. if they did next maintenance slot would be April 1st 2016 (perhaps)
