I had a friend tell me that support told him that Level 50 characters would not get the expanded bank and inventory slots that comes with becoming a gold member. If anyone can confirm or deny this (especially a Dev), please do so.
As a lifer I recommend against LTS. (F2P made it almost worthless) You'll never get your money's worth, and STO is going down in quality with every season. Stay F2P, c-store whatever perks you need, and enjoy the games death. Mabey the next ST MMO will get it right.

At this point its just not worth it. It would take you just over 13 months to break even, and the only thing you would have earned would be the following:
5,200 Cryptic points over that 13 month period
1 Liberated Borg Playable Character (unlocked for your Account)
1 Respec Token Valued at 400 CP
1 Veteran Badge (unlocked)
1 Ship Slot Valued at 200 CP
1 Veteran uniform (unlocked)
1 Character slot Valued at 250 CP
1 Fireworks emote
Which would bring it to 6,050 Cryptic Points
OR
You could stay at Silver and spend $12.50 a month and get 1,000 Cryptic points
Over the same 13 month period, would give you:
Please do not fall for this TRIBBLE. It is offensive that they even offer this, it is only an attempt to take advantage of people not able to do math. I bought the lifetime sub before the game was released and felt ripped almost immediately. They haven't added any new content, only new ways for you to give them more money. Now they are offering you WAY less (when I bought it, I was saving the monthly fee - or so I thought). If you REALLY insist on supporting their cstore, then buy the points - NOT the subscription.
As has already been posted, 400 cpoints a month is no where near worth it.
Please do not support their greedy ways, you will regret it. And you will feel dumb.

Actually, If you started Lifetime from day one.. Your maths are slightly off.. Just Slightly. This math will be done based on Grinding all the Characters to 50 in the one month btw. So 3 characters. Also These Are Services that are Purchaseable by Silver. Obviously If your not a lifetime you dont get certain titles, badges, or the Borg. But this is by my maths and remembering the last time I calculated this out.
1 Respec Token Valued at 400 CP (given at 10,20,30,40,45,50) = 3chars x 400cp x 6 = 7,200
4 Bank expansions Valued at 240CP : 3 chars x 240cp x4 = 2,880
3 Inventory Expansions Valued at 320cp: 3 chars x 320 x 3 = 2,880
Char slot = 250cp
Energy Credit Increase to 1 bil: = 400cp
Ship Slot Increase Valued at 200CP: 3 chars x 200 = 600
I know there is a BOFF increase, I can't remember how many boffs. So I figure one Expansion is 2? boffs Valued at 200cp: so 3 chars x 200 = 600
400 CP stipend per month = 400 cp
New Perk given (for now) account bank (no price yet)
+ whatever Vet rewards and char unlocks you get.
+ These Expansion and perks keep happening while lifetime no matter how many characters you delete and remake. So some of them Rebuy themselves continuously depending on if you open more char slots, or delete and char and make new ones.
_________________________________________________________________
Total: 15,210 CP
3 x 5000 CP cards (62.50 each)
1 x 500 CP cards ( 6.25)
Total USD: 193.75
So 193.75 For the Initial use of the lifetime Gifts. That value goes up with every character you add, or Delete and remake. So if you tend to make new Characters based on new content coming out, Or you just wanted to have fun and say Delete A character and Make Duke Nukem :P You dont have to re-unlock inventory or banks etc. Also I hear the EC Cap Increase (1billion) dissapears after you drop back under 10 mil, also you can't go higher then what your at when you reverted. which kinda sucks. But again, I havent tested that, That is what was said on another Thread.
Point of Arguement: You can get the same benefits just dropping 15.99 for the first month of being Gold. Cancel Gold after the first Month, and keep a Majority of the perks. But if you decide to add characters down the line, or delete a character and make a new one due to some new race. You will have to either go gold again, or unlock the items for that character.
+ I dont see the fireworks Emote at all on me and I went Lifetime a month before the sale
The Unlockable Captains Table is a F'kn Joke. Needs way more content shoved into that little area or services or something. To make it even Worth Advertising or even a use. Currently its just a area with an Exchange/mail/bank etc in it. Why should I bother going there when I am already at ESD.

I agree with you.
The captains lounge is hardly a bonus, it's always dead when I go there, so it's a rather pointless addon.
It seems to me this is a matter of relative value depending on what any given individual deems to be valuable to them.
For example if I live in Los Angeles and only drive on congested city streets and Freeways, where top speed almost never even approaches 65 mph, I can buy a really comfortable, fairly reliable Hyundai for under $20k or I can get a Ferrarri for $250k. The guy with deep pockets or the guy who perceives that the Ferrarri will grant him some kind of status may find it worth his cash to make what most would consider a highly illogical purchase. Yes the Ferrarri is capable of doing things the Hyundai will never do, but is it of any real value or is it just percieved value.
In the grand scheme of things, since I work hard for my money, and I enjoy blowing up Klingons and Romulans, what right does someone else have to tell me I'm an idiot for rewarding a company for giving me a product I like?
The captains lounge is hardly a bonus, it's always dead when I go there, so it's a rather pointless addon.
Seems like all of the hubs have become quiet all of the sudden.
The thing that i look at with the LTS that seems to get missed a lot is the slots. LTS players get additional bank and inventory slots for all of their characters. When you buy them inn the cstore, they get unlocked for the individual character.
if you have a few characters, that could add up. (I have a kid doing the "MOM MOM MOM" thing nearby. math is not an option right now)
I always saw the LTS as a way to support the company who were running the game, but, given the disgusting behaviour of "perfect"world since they took the game over, I would never endorse or support them.
Id be more incline to buy this at FULL price if we had actual content. 3 stfs for space/ground...no KDF content below 21.....no Romulan faction...horrible ground mechanics/play style ...throw us a bone here PWE/Cryptic other than the one you've been giving us.
Ok, this probably have been much discussed over time, but now, I do not know if I should laugh or not.
So the game went F2P and now they offer a LFT discount....
So the question is... besides getting the free respec tokens and the borg toon, why would someone bother to buy a LFT now, when the game is F2P?
For the 400 c-points monthly? The biggest reason I see (and in my opinion is more cheaper to pay 1 or 2 months) is when training a new character to get the free stuff that you dont have access in silver accounts.
Oh, I am a subscriber, so, in a point I am contradicting myself here, but, the more I play, the more I realize that I am just trowing money away. I am not training any new character now, so, in a way it is kinda silly to keep paying, but Life time one? Why should I (we) ?
IMO its not currently worth it. They are supposedly planning on increasing the benefits of a gold/LT sub, but have not discussed any specifics or given any kind of ETA on when this will happen.
I'll say the same thing I did in the other thread about this. I took advantage of the offer, because I don't want to pay on and off whenever I level a character, I want to build up for the longevity perks, and... I feel that they deserve it. For the time I've played, I payed them about a quarter an hour for their work. I think they deserve that much.

I am always suspicious of these "marketing maneuvers" by some companies. Maybe they have already some stuff on the bag ready for life timers or subscribers to get more money, maybe that is why they are trying to get more people to pay for it.
If by the time they release the "benefits" of a subscription or a Life time one, I bet the price will skyrocket.

Exactly I will believe it when I see solid results.
The only advantage of a LTS is if you plan to subscribe for a long time, so that it becomes a cost benefit. I held my LTS long enough before F2P so that it was cheaper than subscribing long term. The question should really be "Is subscribing worth it".
Back in the day, I threw about $350 in total at WoW. I dropped it because of other MMOs that were less expensive and have greater detail and better plots. I am silver (F2P) but I had questioned that advert myself, I could still end up tossing lots of money at Perfect World for even more Zen. Currently I think I spent about $10 here but I have been looking at the costumes and such. If WoW had offered LTS I may still be there... nah.
I just purchased the lifetime subscription and I get the option under the C-Store, but nothing unlocks for my Borg officer. What am I doing wrong there?

Lifetime sub comes with a Borg playable captain, not a Borg officer. If you want the officer, you have to buy it separately.
I pulled the trigger in the 11th hour. I guess I'm kinda glad I won't be paying a monthly next month... but I feel like I really spun the Dabo wheel with 200 bucks
